  • "We had not been to Prego in a very long time and decided to try it out again. We will not be going back. 2 of our dinners were probably microwaved. The pizza was marginal. We couldn't eat our salads because they were literally dripping with dressing. The service was bad. There was a large, noisy party of 2 large tables seated in the main part of the dining room right next to us when they could have been seated in another room. The restaurant was not full and I can see why."

  • "We had not been to Prego in like 10 years, maybe. We went on a Friday night. It's a big restaurant, it was moderately busy but we got a very nice booth away from the more crowded area. Either would have been fine. The service was excellent. Top notch waiters with great sense of humor. The food was very good... my only disappointment was the ceasar salad... which unfortunately just did not have a lot of flavor... mostly tasted like lettuce... but that may have been an anomaly. I would try it again with a request for more of something. Banana chocolate cake was terrific. Best of all, however, they really know how to make a great Ketel One Dirty Martini... very smooth and just the right amount of dirt and a generous size. A good experience!!"

We were greeted promptly, including a salutation from the Chef, just beyond the receptionist. Nice ambiance, varied selections to order from the menu (all tantalizing). The food was served hot, was very tasty, and the champagne flowed. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and the manager came by a few time to ensure we had everything we needed. We will make arrangements to return!"

  • "We only had 45 minutes for lunch, then an important meeting back at the office. We called ahead and requested a selection of pizzas to be on the table when we arrived. I thought they might balk at this request, but instead, received a pleasant, "Sure we can do that." When our group of 7 people arrived at the restaurant, all was ready. The pizza came within 5 minutes (a record for pizza anywhere), and the food was outstanding, service prompt, friendly and they got us out in time for the after-meeting. We will definitely go back when we can enjoy a more relaxing experience. The Prego team did a superb job for us! "

The ambience is always wonderful and the food quality and taste never disappoints. The service was a bit lacking and did not meet our expectationon this occasion, but certainly not a deal breaker. The staff is always pleasant. Treat yourself to excellent classic Italian cuisine and visit Prego's."

My wife had to tell her again after dinner to make sure she checks us in. 44 min to dinner I get a call from the restaurant telling me if we are coming. I am like um i am here sitting and finishing my food. My dinner was good but my wife pasta was under cook. Well not be going back."

Service was impeccable and the valet parking makes Prego one of the best restaurants in the John Wayne/Irvine area for easy access. I've been coming here for years and will continue to!"

Not worth your time/money/calories "

  • "The food was inedible, cold and poorly presented. Five minutes after I sat down the manager came over and said " So what's happening with your other guest? Have you heard from him? Is he coming or not?" I was stunned into silence. The restaurant was NOT full and I had arrived five minutes before my reservation time. The wait staff kept trying to deliver 2 entrees that were not ours. They carried those entrees around the restaurant for over 15 minutes until they delivered them (cold by now) to the table next to ours. Prego used to be a top brand. I started going to your restaurant in San Francisco over 30 years ago. I will never go to this one again. Never."

  • "Prego jumped on the Travel Zoo bandwagon to drive Sunday brunch business. It was successful. That is the good news, the bad news is that they forgot to deliver on food quality and service. Especially service. We had reservations but when we arrived we were told there no tables that were not small and tucked in the bar area. We choose the bar area where essentially we were no man or woman's land. They simple forgot us. We had to get up and go get someone or stop someone passing by every time we needed service. Not good. A sous chef finally took pity on us and helped get the food to us. However except the first course the rest of the meal was a disappointment. Not at all what we have come to expect from Pregos."
