Diner Reviews
  • "The food is great, with a lot of options for just about anyone. My only issue is that they were slammed at brunch, and we had to ask 4 times for water for my son. Despite that, service was generally great and gracious."

  • "We had a party of 5 and decided to sit outside. Unfortunately the wind picked up and we decided to move inside. The wait staff was more than helpful and moved us in. Service with a smile, food was great. Great experience. The mushroom bruschetta was esp tasty!"

  • "This food here is wonderful. There are plenty of heathy options if you want them. The place is sleek, modern, and very pleasing to the eye. They have a beautiful outside patio. The service is good when you get it. The servers are nice, there just doesn't seem to be enough of them at times which can create lulls in the dining experience."

  • "I have only been to Prasino for lunch, each time, it has been excellent. I am a fan of the lobster appetizer"

  • "Prasino has outstanding food, ambiance, service and location. It could be a pretentious but it's the total opposite. The staff and servers make you feel welcome and at home, whether it's a night out, business lunch or brunch with kids. They also have a great frequent diner program that I appreciate. I rarely write reviews but this spot deserves the accolade."

  • "We enjoyed everything about this place. Contemporary in every way, yet without the hype--it was OUR dining experience, not our needing to be part of the scene. We loved the food--tuna tartare, halibut, lamb pasta, beet, etc. salad. Service was excellent."

  • "Excellent and I am recommending to friends and plan to return."

  • "I have been to Prasino with multiple different groups and everytime everyone is very happy with their experience. Lobster Mac and Cheese was very yummy this weekend. Kid friendly but also definitely not a kid restaurant. Parking across the street, valet or easily walkable from Division blue line. Will be back again soon!"

  • "Food was great, service was great, and the restaurant is about sustainability. It is even labeled a "green" restaurant. We brought a small business meeting here for lunch and were all pleasantly surprised. I would love to come back here with friends."

  • "I love this spot for brunch. They have a great tea menu, great options for vegetarians, excellent service, and awesome ambiance. I meet girlfriends here for brunch, take out of town guests, and for dinner, its a lovely romantic setting. Love it! My only negative criticism is that for the past 3 weekends, the potatoes have been undercooked at brunch. It's just too busy in there."

  • "Having eaten at Prasino many times before, I've come to expect a certain level of service. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my chilequiles (the nova "mimosa" was a strange take on a lox platter which we probably should've skipped), our waiter reeked of alcohol. Albeit, it was 9:30 on a Saturday morning but neither my sister nor I could ignore the smell every time he came to check on us. Maybe next time we'll avoid the brunch hour."

  • "This place is truly a gem. The food is always perfect, service and servers very attentive. We go here as often as possible."

  • "Loved the coffee, huge plates (fit to share), recommend a reservation if you're planning on arriving around 10:30 or later (earlier it's no problem). Will definitely go back!"

  • "Our server was very friendly and attentive to our questions. We visited with our 5 year old child, not a problem, kids menu available. food was good, several options for vegetarians/vegan and carnivores. Overall, we were very happy with our restaurant choice for the evening."

  • "The food was awesome, the atmosphere is fun, and the seating is great for groups but it was extremely loud! That was our only complaint!"

  • "Prasino has an extensive Gluten Free Brunch menu. It's outstanding. I went here with a party of 8 people. Outstanding service and it's a restaurant that I will come back to a lot to eat at."

  • "The food here is excellent. I would highly recommend that if you have the opportunity to eat here, you do. The sushi was phenomenal and the kale and spinach salad with chicken the best salad I have ever had. Plus I love that the meat is all antibiotic free."

  • "Have visited the Pracinos in St Charles, mo and thought I would try the one in Chicago. Pracinos-Wicker park is much smaller but more intimate. The menu choices are very different in a good way and very flavorful. If had any complaints it would be with the valet who never came to us but we could see him through the front and our waiter seemed a little harried and slow. The restaurant did have some parking across the street though which saved us the fee for valet."

  • "We had a great time here and they were very accommodating with special food requests. All our meals were great, shared small plates and had an awesome bottle of wine. Good spot"

  • "Rely enjoyed the environment. The menu was varied and fit all tastes. Enjoyed a great bottle of wine at a very reasonable price. I will return to this restaurant."

  • "enjoyed brunch at prasino on a saturday at 10 a.m. was able to easily snag a reservation the day before. lots of families with children, which made it a bit nosier than expected. first time trying brunch here, and had the caprese eggs benedict. would love to try other dishes. latte was delicious."

  • "As usual, Prasino offered intriguing food and beverage menus and delivered a delicious meal. The lamb spaghetti was one of the favorites at the table as was the bread pudding dessert!"

  • "I've been here before and the first time I saw the menu I was a bit skeptical because there's no coke or Pepsi and even the teas are handcrafted . The food descriptions are lengthy and when you're in for a business lunch sometimes that is a nuisance. I got the BLT and it was awesome. Retuned at the request of a client for a meeting this past week and the BLT was better than I remember. I'll forgo the coke or Pepsi for the excellent food."

  • "I love this place. It was my first time at this location (I always go to the one in Lagrange), and it was wonderful. The food is always outstanding, and I loved the service."
    Dined on 3/4/2014
  • "Food was pretty good, portions are small for the price...but the worst part was despite having a reservation we had to wait like 30+ minutes to be seated."

  • "I live in the 'hood and walk by this place all the time but finally got around to eating here. The food was excellent, the staff was great. Only complaints, it is loud, like shout to talk loud. Also, while the wait staff was SUPER nice and helpful, the meal was way longer than it should have been, we sat waiting on the server a LOT (for drinks, between courses, for the check, etc). It seemed as though she just had too many tables to service. We were having brunch with some people from out of town so we didn't mind a leisurely brunch, but it really should not have been that slow."

  • "Prasino has been on my restaurant list for a long time so I was excited to finally try it out - not only did the experience meet my expectations, it far exceeded them. The menu is so diverse that they literally have something for everyone, from sushi to burgers to flatbreads...it was truly a tough decision to make but the sushi I ordered (surf & turf) was incredible, excellent flavors, well-prepared, overall incredible. Our server was extremely nice and helpful, as was the rest of the staff, including the hostess. I will definitely go back to Prasino and will recommend it to friends."

  • "Short ribs, and all desserts (we got three: bread pudding, half baked cookie and banana tempura) were in credible. Cocktails also killer."

  • "The food was alright. Took a very long time. Most of it came out cold. The waiter was not very knowledgable about the menu. Took a very long time to get water refills or more glasses of wine. Maybe if the food was actually hot, that would have helped. Never fun to wait for service, especially when it's the wine."

  • "after reading all sorts of review on this place, i should've known better then to go with a "special" of the night. First of all - the Lobster & Avacado appetizer thing, holy crap I could eat 5 of those things and be satisfied. I got the fillet special - way too peppery. the meat was good quality and I ordered it rare, but there was an over powering pepper taste that took away from that cut of meat. fillet's are meant for flavor and quality. i feel like they could've served any piece of meat with that seasoning, it would've had ruined a nice cut of meat like that. It was still delicious, but too peppery. I'll be back and i'll avoid the specials. my GF ordered the short ribs, they were ridiculously tasty -"

  • "The menu is all over the place, but it's executed well and it's such a good space, how could you not like it? I've always enjoyed what I've has here. It's an easy place to go with friends and family."

  • "I went in V-day and it was great. My girlfriend loved everything as well. My only complaint ifs that I was cold because our table was by the entrance."

  • "I have tried this place twice; once for dinner and again several months later for breakfast. And honestly, I really felt that food and service were rather just fair. Nothing wowed me at all. For dinner, I felt the acoustics were just awful, it was so loud that it was hard to talk with my date. Breakfast, again, just blah."
    Dined on 2/1/2014
  • "Make sure to try the lobster avocado appetizer! They try to create everything on the menu from organic, locally grown, hormone free ingredients, and everything we tried was delicious. The table next to ours was loud, which made it hard to talk at times. The restaurant was about 30% full the night we were there, so I bet it gets very loud when it's a full house."

  • "We went for lunch to the Prasino in Wicker Park. The $22 lunch special for restaurant week was delicious. I started with the lamb meatball, then had the Greek salad, and the bread pudding for dessert. The bread pudding was wonderful, the salad and meatball had generous portions and were very tasty. My husband had the berry pancakes which he loved. Service was great. Will go back for dinner. Highly recommend this restaurant."
