Diner Reviews
  • "We will definitely return to this wonderful restaurant. Superb gourmet food at very reasonable prices."

  • "Lovely restaurant - terrific food - got very noisy as it filled up and hard to hear one another. Otherwise great choice, and we will definitely go back."

  • "I was so happy to find Prasino - the food and service were excellent. The $6 special on glasses of wine of any variety was amazing. I can't wait to visit Chicago again and come back!"

  • "This is a great place to enjoy a variety of foods, most really tasty. The lobster avocado dish, bruschetta, salads are all tasty and creative. Not really sure why a restaurant needs tacos AND sushi but it's a nice place to take a group so that everyone can get something they like."

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our Father's Day breakfast at Prasino's. Even our picky teenager had good things to say. The contemporary outdoor dining space was large and inviting on a warm weekend morning. The menu offered favorite breakfast items, but with a creative twist. Crab Cakes eggs benedict. Pretzel brioche french toast. Sweet potato hash....tasty little things that made the menu delightfully surprising. My first bite of the enormous HIppie Omelet (Basil, Spinach, Goat Cheese) was an explosion of fresh herb flavors. Fantastic. Recommended. (Easy parking on the weekends, by the way, as you can use the parking lot at the school right across the street. A big plus!)"

  • "Good place for eight of us, one being a two year old. Good service, interesting menu. A couple of us arrived early and had a good drink at the bar. A "happening" kind of place."

  • "Fabulous menu, taste explosions with every item. Impeccable staff. They deserve double tip for sure :)"

  • "Had not been to Prasino in a while and I really enjoyed it. The outdoor seating area is really nice. Our server was fantastic and the food was delicious."

  • "Our food was just ok. Two of us had fish tacos and the fish was somewhat "fishy" tasting. So many places do fish tacos these days - if they are on a menu they should be excellent - or don't do them. However - love the atmosphere here. Comfortable and a great spot in the neighborhood."

  • "I loved the look & feel of the restaurant. Modern & comfortable. The tables have generous space in between. The salads are amazing & the flat bread pizza was a hit! Loved the raspberry sorbet too - tart & tangy :)"

  • "Went here for the first time with a friend from out of town last week, had a delicious brunch with drinks on Sunday. The food was amazing, fresh ingredients and everyone's dish was equally good. Decided to go back a few days later, they have a great drink special m-w and serve breakfast to 3 everyday! Seriously love this place nestled in wicker park."

  • "I expected a lot because I had heard such good things about Prasino. It's very attractive in all ways but the food was good, not great. Granted, I only had fish tacos, but they were kind of tasteless. The lobster and avocado appetizer was yummy and the drinks were very refreshing. I would go again and try something else."

  • "My wife and I go out a lot and this was one of the best brunch experiences we have had in Chicago (granted it was 75 and sunny and we had a patio seat). But the service was wonderful and the food was top notch. All 4 of us ordered something different but equally tasty."

  • "Overall a great experience...Food was great...Tuna Tartare one of the best in the city. Rachel, our server, was super nice and helpful. Will definitely come back."

  • "Food was decent, ambiance was nice, and plenty of outdoor seating. Interesting drink and menu sections. Ended up dropping $70 on brunch though which is $$$. Don't recommend this place a regular spot, more of a once in a while meet up spot."

  • "When my friends and ordered drinks, we were steered away from mimosas by our server because they hardly had alcohol in them. I didn't care about that, I cared about the taste. After we had ordered other drinks, my friend asked for split checks and the server said, "Relax, we are not there yet" I thought that was rude, because she was being polite. For food, my friends and I had chosen items on the breakfast menu. We first ordered the side of vegan pancakes. Our server said, "Guys, oh no, it's 3pm." He said he would ask the chef if he would consider making an exception, and the chef said it was okay. So we continued, and the server said, "Just the pancakes." At this point I was done with his tone and attitude. We stuck with drinks and left."

  • "I joined some friends for an early dinner on Saturday night before going to a show. The food was fabulous - love the beet and goat cheese salad. We had a window seat and it was fun watching Wicker Park activities - dogs and strollers - walk by."

  • "The food we had was all excellent! From the butternut squash ravioli which was out of this world, to the short rib tacos, bacon flat bread and salmon - everyone said their food was outstanding and fresh and full of flavor! Love the idea of the outdoor patio and I was told that it rocks when it is open. The ambiance on the inside, was stark and somewhat cold - I would not say romantic or warm. But I would go back to this restaurant in a second. "

  • "Brunch on the patio outside was great!! So many tables so not a long wait and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. "

  • "This is the second time I have been to Prasino. The first time was on a Friday night. It was energetic and loud and that was just fine. The many dishes the four of us had were all fantastic! Along with our service. This time was earlier Wednesday evening. It was still loud but because tons of kids were running around. My date and I truly love children but they and their families took over the place--it was rather nerve-wracking (all the difference being who controlled their parents and who controlled their kids!). Once again our meal was very good! Service was good but a little 'cold'. I was hoping for the quality and experience we had the first time but I still give Prasino a 4-star knowing my original experience was a 5-star."

  • "Food was amazing, service was excellent, my only comment is that it was a bit loud but I don't personally mind that, and it had been raining so the patio was closed, otherwise I'm sure it would have been quieter. Overall excellent. "

  • "The food menu ranges from Sushi to Hamburgers. Something for everyone. Great Service!!! There was a group of 10 who order Lobster avocado appetizer, Chicken skewers, lambchops, veggie sushi, Truffle potatoes to name a few and the food was great!!!!! You have to try this place!"

  • "The food was good, but the service was AWFUL!!!:( I've been there before, but this was the absolute WORST SERVICE!! We needed many normal things. Even a fork!!! I mean come on!! We waited forever for someone to come take our order in the beginning & it got worse the rest of the night. I think we were there for 3 hours!:( "

  • "They try too hard to be hip. It was hard to order. You gotta be prelates for overly healthy options that taste like cardboard. And the service was smothering. We were constantly being interrupted by a multitude of servers and "is everything ok?" checks. I know that's a strange comment to maha, but it was a strange experience. "

  • "We had a wonderful dining experience! The vegetarian sushi was excellent as was everything else! And the Cookie and Ice Cream was heavenly! "

  • "Four of us had brunch/ lunch and all the meals contained fresh vegetables and perfectly done entree. The fried plantain was crispy and good. Our waitress was wonderful and professional. We will return to try more of the brunch food."

  • "Prasino is a beautiful space with good food and service. The menu can be very healthy or deliciously, decadently tasty if one wants. Lots of energy, people watching, and buzz in a large space. "

  • "I love this place! Went on the Wednesday night it was not crowded. Server was nice and knowledgeable. We had the vegetable sushi roll, Truffled potatoes and the black cod which were all delicious."

  • "Any place with brunch until 3 is good by me. Tasty fresh food with nice options for those with food allergies. And as if a mimosa is not delicious enough on its own, adding pomegranate juice to it was just genius. Can't wait to go back and get another! "

  • "Great outdoor brunch dining. We had a reservation Easter Sunday for 2 at 11am, but opted to wait for a seat outdoors. Hostess estimated 15-20 min., and we waited no more than 5-10 min. Have been twice for brunch, both times the food has been delicious, both the sweet and savory dishes. Brunch cocktails have been hit or miss. Service was genuine, prompt, attentive. Great place for people watching on Division. Will definitely be back again and again."
