Prasino - La GrangeGreat Father's Day BrunchWe made a reservation for Father's day brunch and we needed to move the time earlier. It was a busy day and they were able to accomodate us as best as they could, we did have to wait, but that was understandable given it was a busy day. The food is always consistently great. We tend to order the same thing each time and is always the same in quality and taste. Heard about it from a friend who explained a little about the organic/local/gluten free philosophy. Since we own an organic livestock far, and I eat gluten free, this was our cup of tea. We had a leisurely dinner outside on the sidewalk, the staff was outstanding in serving us. We ordered: the cod with black beans, the black bean burger, the bricked chicken, and the short ribs and the fish tacos. All of these various dishes were delicious. We had one of the sushi appetizers which was fresh and good. The wine selection includes biodynamic and organic wines and is fairly large. He showed us how drinks and food choices where listed and explained portion sizes well. The sushi and mussels were delicious! The salmon was very moist! My bourbon fizz was very good too! Sitting outside with my pomegranate iced tea (delicious) and enjoying the outdoors with my friend was perfect. The service was ideal- attentive, but not obnoxious. She ordered the fish tacos and loved them. I had the turkey club and swapped out the cheese and had it on multigrain bread instead of a croissant. I had made the reservation but my party was running very late. I called ahead and the hostess was very kind and forgiving because I gave her the heads up. When I arrived and my party still hadn't, she again as very accommodating. Finally, my party arrived and we sat outside. We each had something off the brunch menu and none of us were disappointed. The lobster-stuffed avocado was as decadent and luxurious as it sounds, but not too heavy for a Saturday afternoon. The mango salsa and verblanc sauce kept it from being stuffy and thick. My father had the smoked salmon platter and loved every morsel. Our server was attentive and friendly and we will definitely be returning.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI always have a great mealI always have a great meal at Prasinos, and the service is usually outstanding (on one past visit it wasn't the greatest). However, because of health concerns I recently started a gluten free diet. While there are some gluten free options on the menu, I wish there were more to keep me coming back regularly.

To be able to actually see what you ordered in its natural form is wonderful. They have great teas, non-alcoholic drinks and alcoholic drinks. All are made with fresh "green" ingredients. The food is prepared this way as well. All ingredients are fresh and unadulterated. We ordered the bananas foster crepes and carrot cake pancakes. Compared with our skillets they paled. They were tasty but not as deep and intricate as the skillets. Our latest favorites are the lobster-stuffed avocado - I usually have it as my entree - and the grilled skirt steak - the orzo that accompanies it is fantastic - wish you get it as a side.
