Diner Reviews
  • "It has great food but on a Sunday afternoon there was a wait even with a reservation, service was slow and being seated by the door makes for a loud environment"

  • "The lobster avocado with mango appetizer was very good. My date had the beet salad with chicken which was very good but a larger portion than she needed. I had the butternut squash ravioli which was good too. There were not a lot of familiar names on the wine list but the server was helpful and we ended up with a very nice bottle of chardonay. Price of everything was reasonable. We sat inside but the outside dining looked like it would be very fun."

  • "Great place for breakfast or brunch! Service is prompt, friendly and attentive. Food is always delicious, but if any problems arise, they are quickly resolved!"

  • "Everything we had, from the lobster avocado appetizer to the deep dish cookie dessert, was fresh and outstanding. Unique creations with great ingredients. Just a few misses like the gratin cauliflower side (too heavy and spongy). Be ready to be adventurous on your menu selections as much is out of the mainstream even as far as foodie fare goes, but you'll be well-rewarded."

  • "We brought my sister-in-law here for the first time and it did not disappoint. We all loved our meals and drinks."

  • "Just an all around pleasant dining experience. The food was good the service was good. Even the leftovers were yummy."

  • "I have been here several times and I am never disappointed. Great food, great drinks, great service."

  • "We had lobster stuffed avocado & bacon onion jam flatbread. Both wonderful. Entrees were braised short ribs (amazing) and lamb spaghetti. Lamb was cooked perfectly but best thing was the pasta it was on.Brown butter spaghetti with some type of wonderful cheese and nutty flavor. So so good. I would eat a plate of just that. Svc not good - Monday nite, not crowded at all-25 min wait for starters - entrees out 5 minutes later - sat for 30 min before anyone asked if we'd like dessert which we didn't & then another 10 min waiting for the bill. Food was so good we will go again, which is a big deal since poor service usually means no return for us."

  • "We made reservations at Prasino for dinner on our way back to the suburbs following an afternoon symphony matinee. The staff was very attentive throughout the meal. Our waitress offered wine and salad suggestions. We were pleased to have the option of a half salad and extra plates to share entrees at no additional cost. The fish tacos seemed a bit bland, but the butternut squash ravioli was spiced just right. The trio of sorbets was the perfect ending to our meal."

  • "This was my first visit to Prasino and I was pleasantly surprised. I was there with a friend for breakfast. The menu offered wonderful choices and the food very good."

  • "We had a very nice time. Good food, decent service. My only complaint is that I mentioned in the notes upon making my reservation that it was my sister's birthday and I still had to remind the waitress of that later in the evening when we ordered dessert."

  • "The noise is a real problem, especially with groups of women. Have eaten there at lest 6 times and most of the time it's been a problem. A few times had to move because of the loud noise. It's one of my favorites. I know many of my friends feel the same re: the noise. Can anything be done?"

  • "I had enjoyed a really exceptional meal at Prasino in the city, so I was eager to the the La Grange location near my office. But I was left underwhelmed. The service was okay. The bar inventory was sorely lacking. My Bloody Maria cocktail did not taste fresh. Others at the table thought their yellow curry entrees were dry and bland. My flank steak was undercooked and swimming in so much butter it made the roasted potatoes soggy. I could eat only a small portion of the dish. I would have sent it back if the only issue were the temperature of the meat, but why bother? Even the desserts were meh. I suppose my disappointment was sharpened by my high expectations. Maybe it was an off night, but I won't be giving it another chance."

  • "The flat breads are very good, I also love the salads and the avocado with lobster. There are great cocktails and martinis. Our waiter was friendly, efficient, and he did a great job! I have never had a bad meal at Prasino!"

  • "The dining room is spacious but can get noisy from other diner's conversations. (Escape to the washroom for soothing music in an ambient setting!) Both the atmosphere and food are refreshing. The food is good and not too extravagant. The omelet was the freshest I have ever had! The chicken tacos rancheros lacked flavor but I plan to return for the atmoshere, friendly staff and tantilizing menu."

  • "Prasino does not honor reservations!! We have made reservations in the past and they always seemed to have 101 excuses. I had written in the comment section that my 78yr old mom will be with us. We were seated at 12:20 not 12. Food was great. Server was polite. Can't make plans for a big group because reservations are not honored"

  • "Everything is over priced. The food, however, is certainly tasty and the servers are friendly. The 'Germain and juice' was delicious."

  • "This restaurant is awesome. We not only went for dinner the other night, but we went for breakfast a couple days ago. Every time we are home from school, we make a point to go to Prasino."

  • "Service was outstanding. Chicago has great food everywhere but often back of house is undone by poor service. Not here. The food is amazing and matched by the service. Prasino has really superb food and genuinely concerned and hospitable wait staff. My cell was near dead and they found a charger from one of the chefs to charge my phone. Over and above, seriously. Food was served hot. We had a late add on guest arrival, handled gracefully. Unobtrusive but attentive throughout a 2.5 hour meal. Just made for a wonderful, relaxing evening with my friends. Thank you Prasino for your hospitality!"

  • "i had a yummy salad with paper-thin sliced apples, pecans, blue cheese, jicama etc. Also, the cream of chicken soup was very good. My companion (who adores Asian fare) had a Thai Chicken Curry that was very tasty."

  • "Really liked prasino. Clean, great service (Chris, our waiter was great), nice contemporary space. Easy to just sit back and enjoy a casual dinner. Everything was served beautifully. We ordered a cheese plate which paired with some toasted bread that was awesome. Main dish was braised short ribs which was good. .... A little too rich for my taste pallet, truth be told, but still good!"

  • "I enjoy the healthy flair at Prasinos. My gluten free pancakes were great, not flat tasting as you sometimes get in some restaurants."

  • "Prasino's always does a good job. Their entrees are delicious and the menu is rotated with enough frequency that there are always new items to try. Their seasonal drinks menu is also full of new surprises."

  • "We had amazing food at Prasino LaGrange. The short ribs and salmon were both out of this world and the cauliflower augratin - oh my! The service was lacking and seemed to not completely be with it or enjoying their job. What made the afternoon drag and what we did not enjoy was the annoying music soundtrack that played a tleast 10 or more times while we were there. Better music would have improved the visit immensely."

  • "My wife and I visited for Valentine's Day and had a very enjoyable experience. We worked our way through the Sushi menu and can definately recommend the Killer Dragon roll and the Lava roll. One of the nicest parts of the evening was that we ordered an appetizer, then one of the rolls, then another roll, then dessert. We were able to sit and enjoy our dinner, talk & relax, and never felt rushed or hurried. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, as wa the entire wait staff. Overall, I would highly recommend this for a pleasurable and satisfying evening."

  • "Prasino in LaGrange is a clean and environmentally friendly place to eat. They offer many organic food options. The breakfast items are absolutely mouth watering. The lunch and dinner items are excellent, especially the Butternut Squash Ravioli! This item is seasonal, but I wish it were on the menu all year! The greeters and wait staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing. This is one of my favorite places to eat, knowing you will be served healthy and delicious food!"

  • "My husband and I love this restaurant and have been here many times. We wanted to go out to eat for Valentine's Day as a family so we brought our 2 young sons with us this time. Our experience was just as great as it usually is; the food and drinks were fantastic and the wait staff very friendly and attentive. And our boys now love this place as much as we do and are already talking about what they'll order the next time we go there for dinner."

  • "We discovered Prasino's a few years ago when my niece and her hubby (both of whom are vegetarians) were in town. Since then my sister and I go there for our birthdays every year. They have a vast menu with many options for both vegan and gluten free diners. Their coffee is also phenomenal! We take all of our out-of-town guests here. I highly recommend you try Prasino's if you get the chance. You won't regret it!"

  • "The food and service is always so wonderful here. It's an expensive menu, so we can only eat here occasionally. One thing that could be improved is the temperature in the restaurant. It is always very chilly, and yet the restrooms are toasty warm. They need to revisit the circulation in this restaurant because eating with my coat on is not ideal. Otherwise, love this restaurant!"

  • "Apps & dessert were very good. Main courses were not! Black bean 'burger' was just a black bean spread on a good bun. The chicken add-on for the Thai main course was a few pieces of VERY dry chicken placed on the plate off to the side; no integration with the dish whatsoever. Chicken main course was average at best- had better from some diners at thanksgiving....... Lobster avacado appetizer was great! Tried one the sushi rolls and love it too. I think we'll leave this place on the 'list' for a future meal but may use the appetizers as 'small plates' and skip the main courses."

  • "Healthy food should always taste so good. I eat here quite often and only once did I say my entree was not totally satisyfing. If you want to find someplace where agave and all-natural products are used - this is the place. You feel good after every meal."

  • "We visited during restaurant week and really loved the Pre fixe menu. The only issues we had with the evening was: - They ran out of one of the wines on the Pre Fixe menu special offering. We would've liked to have been offered a comparable substitute instead of only offering the remaining wines on the list. - It's been bitter cold in Chicago and we had to sit near the front door. The place was packed so I understand that seating options were limited however, they should've done something to prevent the constant chill affecting those closest to the door."

  • "We did the pre-fixe for restaurant week and everything was fantastic! The avocado/lobster salad was different and delicious, my scallops entree was excellent as was my sister's rib entree, the sides always shine so bright here and we love that. They do amazing things with vegetables and sauces. Dessert was also delicious. Our waiter was excellent!"
