Praline Bakery & BistroGreat !Praline is a true treasure. I am consistently impressed with the quality of food that comes out of the kitchen and the gracious service of the staff. The specials that appear on the daily menus are worth watching (when I was there, soft shell crabs were on the menu, as well as asparagus soup and a wonderful asparagus salad). The chef also expertly prepares organ meats - they are worth ordering if they are on the menu. This time of year, it is so nice to sit on the terrace for dinner. It is always a pleasure to visit Praline.
Save room for dessert - you won't regret it!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's rare to find quenellesIt's rare to find quenelles in a neighborhood restaurant, and the ones I had here were as delicious as any I've eaten, including in France. My dinner companion also was pleased with her scallop dish. The service was very well timed and pleasant. The restaurant was quiet enough for us to have a conversation in normal voices, something that is difficult to find these days.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBethesda's best!We had dinner at Praline on Saturday, and as usual, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The menu has added a number of great seasonal specials. On Saturday, I had an asparagus and morel appetizer that was absolutely delicious, and we both had the beef tenderloin medallions for our main course, which were cooked perfectly and were served with asparagus and morels as well. We did save room for dessert (a good idea here) and had the coupe maison and the chocolate mousse napolean (their best dessert in my opinion). All in all, it was a wonderful meal. The service was fantastic. The staff here does an amazing job on a consistent basis.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMC'est Magnifique!Absolutely one of the very best French bistros in town - at any price. Every dish is expertly prepared with excellent daily specials. Don't let the location discourage you from visiting. Though tucked away in a neigorhood mall, Pralines is a standout for succulent salmon, crisp salads and desserts that not only smell phenomenal when you walk through the bakery at the entrance, but are absolutely delicious.
It will be a regular dinner option for the future,4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food at a reasonableExcellent food at a reasonable price. Desserts are a particular pleasure. The best chicken pot pie in the area. The strip-mall location isn't particularly impressive, but the service makes up for it.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, a fabulously delicious,As always, a fabulously delicious, beautifully prepared and presented meal. A bit crowded if seated indoors but excellent service and worth the small inconveniences.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant, a lovelyThis restaurant, a lovely room upstairs from a French bakery, isn't an "in" or "hip" place, but is perfect at the kinds of things a French cafe does for brunch -- omelets, benedicts, waffles, charcoute, croque monsieur and madame. When this is the brunch you're in the mood for, and you want a pretty place where you can relax and hear the conversation, go directly to Praline.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMMais Oui!My daughter just returned from four months in France and needed a fix of good French food. She found it at Praline where she ordered a lovely Croque Monsieur. It was perfect and delicious. We also had a lovely sliced chicken sandwich, very tasty and lovely to look at too. The wait staff is very accommodating and the gentleman who runs the restaurant was delightful and very helpful. It's a pretty place to sit and we enjoyed our lunch there very much.1/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
