Prairie Star RestaurantviewtasticThe Prairie Star is a great place for fine dining, and a great view of the north valley and the Sandia Mnts. Service is very good and the prices are just right for a romantic evening.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe will definitely be goingWe will definitely be going back. The best meal that we've had out in a long time!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat eveningThe desert and food was very well prepared. The service was excellent.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother excellent experienceAnother excellent experience marred only by a minor disapointment with the chicken. It was slightly overcooked. Everything else was marvelous. We talked to the manager for ten minutes and it was a grand experience. Prairie Star remains one of the two or three best restaurants in the Albuquerque area.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food, staff, and overallThe food, staff, and overall atmosphere was amazing I will definately return and recommend to my friends and family.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThere is a new chef here butThere is a new chef here but the quality has not changed. This place never fails and is definitely worth a try. We continue to go back time and time again.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMMy food was great. My husbandMy food was great. My husband had lamb and it was rather fatty. That was the first complaint he has had for the food.
There is nothing more fantastic than the Boca Negra!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMNot up to its usual performanceWe usually go here because we can consistently get a great meat at a reasonable price. It wasn't great this time, although we will go back. My "medium rare, please" salmon was fully cooked, medium at least. My husband's butternut squash ravioli was switched to gnocchi, without him being given an opportunity to chose another item from the menu. They were out of their frozen (!) ravioli, and were in the process of changing the menu. The manager did comp the desserts, which we appreciated, and gave us $10 off next visit coupons. However, it was not up to it's usual standards, making me re-think going out to dinner in the future.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFireplace and a viewWednesday Night is our out to dinner night and Prairie Star always delivers a menu worth sharing. The chef has some specials on Wednesday's so even if the regular menu isn't to your liking the menu has lots of wiggle room.
Ask for Dennis when you make your reservations and you wont be disappointed!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfectly-prepared, beautifully-prePerfectly-prepared, beautifully-presented food served by a helpful but unintrusive waiter. Extensive wine list, surprising for New Mexico - they carry Williams Selyem pinot noir, usually a reliable litmus test for a serious wine merchant. We had the pumpkin bisque, the quail and the smoked beef tenderloin - all outstanding! The views of the surrounding countryside and the majestic Sandias in the background made the experience the more enjoyable. Bravo!!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband & I went duringMy husband & I went during restaurant week & both enjoyed our meals. His steak was cooked as he likes it (blue) and my chicken breast was a good sized portion and flavorful. Great sweet potato and jalapeno soup & the creme brule was excellent. The courses did come quite quickly, so if you are looking for a leisurely paced meal, it is recommended that you advise your server.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a table by the windowWe had a table by the window with a beautiful view of the Sandias at sunset, a delicious meal & a bottle of wine. The wait staff were all very friendly, not just our waiter. The hostess gave us a tour of the building, told us of the history and also told us about the weekly specials. Very welcoming.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
