  • "Simply loved it! I want to return for a special date night or another special time w friends"

  • "The POV at the W Hotel offers a great view and a music video type ambiance. You feel important. I found the food to be completely average, nothing excellent nothing sub par. You are paying for the view. For lunch you can see the White House, Treasury, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, as well as Virginia. It is a fun environment and the service is OK. It was a $50 lunch (for an appetizer and two entrees)."

  • "we went for lunch. not too busy or loud. food was okay yet overpriced. we paid for the view of the white house."

  • "POV staff were friendly and very attentive. Made for a wonderful experience."

  • "When you plan a visit to a rooftop venue, you're looking for ambience -- to enjoy the view, a drink, a special moment in a special place. POV could be those things, but on the day we visited, the sound of the World Cup Soccer game (6-12-2014) was the backdrop for the scenery and the pricey drinks. So, one out of three is not bad, except that the noise was deafening, and the service was miserable."

  • "More of a posh bar spot than a resturant. Limited menu. Food was all fried finger food. Tasted good, but not what I expected for such an expensive "resturant". The $15 drinks not worth it. Waited for ever to be seated. Tons of people just walking around holding drinks. People walking around kept placing their drinks on our table where we were eating. More of a young hipster crowd who are there to be seen. View was nice."

  • "You are paying for the view and not much else. View is decent of the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Arlington, etc. Food was mediocre at best... $93 for 3 drinks (@$15 a piece - even 2 small mimosas) an appetizer, and 2 very bland sandwiches. Even their French fries were just okay - how do you mess up French fries!!!! For what could be an awesome spot, they are in dire need of better food! Would never return...checked it off my list of things to do in DC!"

  • "Published dress code is clear. No one with a non-colar shirt or sneakers - ever. NOT. Suggest either changing the code or enforcing it. Those who go out of their way to comply feel shortchanged when other non-compliant guests show up and are seated. Maybe the policy should be different depending on time of day, etc. Bottom line is what's published on the web site needs to be accurate. In practice, today it is not."

  • "Took the girlfriend here on Memorial Day weekend, it was unneccasirly tough to book a table both times we went. The food is finger food, and totally passable. The $15 drinks are $5 drinks with a $10 view. In the photos it makes it seem like the White House is closer than it is, be warned for a disappointment "

  • "Underwelmed with the quality of the food and service. Staff continued to drop objects (there were 3 broken glasses and multiple dropped silverware). Orders arrived without requested sides and then waited 15 minutes for those to arrive. With small menu would expect excellent preparation and taste. No one at the table praised the cuisine. The view is beautiful but poor space planning. Would not go again nor bring out of town guests. There are better options. "

  • "Service from hostess to server was .... Snobby. Not pleasant. Ambiance and view were great but was expecting better service since it is apart of a hotel"
    Dined on 5/23/2014
  • "The view is so outstanding. It would be difficult to find a place that compares to this place. The food is very tasty but the menu is too limited. I think it is the place to come with good friends, enjoy their company, enjoy the view and enjoy the great drinks. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated. A pleasure to walk through. All out of town guests should come to the POV and see Washington from this spectacular open air lounge."

  • "I decided to propose to my girlfriend on the rooftop and the staff of the W Hotel & POV were very helpful in making it all happen. The seating was perfect, the food was great, and the drinks were on point."

  • "Had a table booked but our view was constantly blocked by rude people having a drink only. We eventually pulled the table up to the railings to stop people standing there. Expected more from this expensive bar. "
    Dined on 5/1/2014
  • "This was a great place to see and be seen. Gorgeous people and gorgeous view. Food was just ok, so go for the drinks and the view!"
    Dined on 5/4/2014
  • "The drinks were WAY overpriced - $85 for a pitcher.... and they were NOT good. We had the strawberry lemonade and the margarita drink and they were overly sugared... so sugary that I had to ask for a few glasses of soda water to make them drinkable. Not what you expect for that price. The bartenders were rude and stuck up. I understand this is a nice place but SERVICE people.. we are paying $85 bucks a PITCHER... be polite and helpful. They were snarky and rude.... I wouldn't go back."

  • "I lived everything about the restaurant except my service it was not even busy and it took forever for her to get out drinks and check on us if she even did after our food arrived, however she was quick on getting our check back to us. "

  • "Service was poor, food was average. Nice views on a sunny day. "

  • "I took out-of-town family to POV basically for the view. The food is okay, the service was very good (especially attentive to our young family member), the menu very limited. One complaint: I had called ahead to ask whether the venue & menu were appropriate for a four-year-old, & been told yes, & that hamburgers were served. When we arrived at 1 pm on Sunday, only the "brunch" menu was available -- very, very limited "small plates" & no hamburgers (example: 3 steam buns with one 2"x3" piece of braised rib, very small chicken & waffle) which was a bit off-putting since I had called. Hamburgers were not available until 3:00 pm. Wish I had known. Exceptional views of Washington, although the corner with the best view was roped off."

  • "We were out in Washington DC with my in-laws and the rest of the family. Reservation for 6. Didn't realize you were not informed when you make reservations that seating for brunch would either be a table or could be couches with small tables. And, when when we were seated at the couches no place to move. Ordered pitcher of Bloody Mary's and waitress only bought 5 glasses. Bloody Mary has two much of something in it. Left and went somewhere else for brunch/lunch."

  • "Service was a bit slow but the food and view made it all worth while. I would have preferred a more extensive beer list. A local spot should have local beers available. "
    Dined on 4/18/2014
  • "We had made reservations for lunch for two on a Saturday. While the view is great, the restaurant is terrible at managing the crowds who are waiting for a free table and just walk into the dining space. People were literally standing next to us or squeezed themselves behind us to take pictures. When we asked a family to please give us some privacy after they were taking pictures of their children right next to us while screaming "smile" we only got blank stares. All of this made us really uncomfortable & it was impossible to have a private conversation. Staff did not seem to care even though it was difficult for them navigate the crowds with their trays. In general, service was not attentive & we had to wait 50 mins for two sandwiches. "

  • "We were scheduled to eat lunch before the White House Easter Egg Roll. We made the reservation a week prior for 12 people. When we arrived, we were seated at a table that only accommodated 4 people. We were moved to a larger area, but still did not accommodate our group. Upon getting seated, we let the manager and waitress know we had to leave by 1:30 for the egg roll, and it took over one hour for our food to come (we had 4 children under the age of 6 in the group). Our food came at 1:45 and we had to quickly feed everyone to make the event. Further, our waitress only came by our table to take our orders and deliver our food; we were not asked for refills, we had to retrieve napkins, and had to flag the waitress down for water."

  • "We had a great time. sunset was beautiful and seeing the sights was fabulous for tourists on a Saturday night. Service was wonderful and they accommodated our large party."

  • "Had brunch with visitors from out of town. The service - attentive, but some items took surprisingly long to come from kitchen (cup of coffee took 15 minutes) The food - brunch menu is very limited and portions are also very small. Don't come hungry! The drinks - delicious. The view - SPECTACULAR! Can't beat the view from this place, looking down over the mall from the monument across the rotunda all the way to the white house. Can even see the Lincoln, the Jefferson and Arlington in the distance."

  • "First time I went there on a Sunday, the views are still stunning, the bar cozy and stylish, but the Sunday brunch menu lack choice and variety compared to the regular menu."
    Dined on 4/13/2014
  • "We had a great time at POV but did have a pretty inattentive server -- we were there for pre-dinner drinks and had to flag her down for a second round; it also took about 20 minutes for our first round to appear."

  • "This place has a fantastic view and I take all my guests here. It is difficult to get a reservation and the outdoor patio food menu is limited."
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "Made a reservation a week ago. We sat and were ignored for forty minutes. Asked two servers to send our server over, they said ok and no one ever came. Everyone was super awful and unapologetic about the whole thing. Walked out, won't be back. Thanks for the free views, I guess?"

  • "We like this roof-top-bar but don't go very often. When friends or family come to visit we always make sure to take them up to the W for a couple drinks and to take in the view. Normally the scene there is fantastic, generally happy customers, and folks out to have a good time in a cool place. Our server was nice, and attentive at a comfortable level. We had drinks and some food. The prices seem a bit high until you consider the location, then they seem fine and worthwhile. Being able to have a glass of wine and look out over the city from that location is really spectacular. If you go, take a few moments to look out and take in the significance of the area - amazing."

  • "I had been to this roof-top lounge/restaurant a number of times in the past, albeit over 20 years ago. It is as I remembered it. The food now is mostly "small plate" offerings; however, there are also food options one could utilize as a meal. The view of the White House is amazing as is the view of the Washington Monument. I hope it is not another 20 years wait before I return!"

  • "Four of us had a nosh and dessert after our Saturday afternoon at the Old Ebbitt Grill's Oyster Riot. Great place to land and decompress from the festivities -- especially sitting outside on the covered balcony overlooking monuments! We've been there before and highly recommend."

  • "luckily it turned out to be one of the nice weather days and they had the patio open (no window covers) and outdoor heaters. drinks are on the pricey side but that's the price you pay for such an awesome view!"
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "We had a great time - the view was impressive and the heaters and the sun made it warm and toasty. Just a great time in the company of great friends with good cocktails and food made it most pleasurable."

  • "This is the place you want to go to for drinks. NOT a place to eat- the food was so greasy and they made an awful amount of substitutions- had i known i wouldn't have ordered any. The horsdoeuvres we ordered tasted like they came from a freezer straight to the deep fryer. Tasteless, oily, fatty, just gross. Their cocktails are great, their wine menu is good. the view is absolutely fabulous. Don't count on this place for dinner. Pre dinner spot or after dinner cocktails only."

  • "Great bar with wonderful views of the Whitehouse, cocktails are a must - Mojito was v.nice! Vibrant bar scene but not overcrowded. Will be sure to return to this bar very soon."

  • "I made a reservation at POV on the advice of a friend. My husband & I were in town to celebrate his 40th birthday & needed somewhere to unwind, have a late lunch/drinks before meeting friends later in the evening. When we arrived we were seated right in front of an open "window" section @ a table for 2. Within a few moments were greeted by our waitress w/ champagne for each of us. I'd mentioned it was my husbands bday, but wasn't expecting this lovely touch. We ordered shrimp cocktail, calamari & a sandwich--all of which were tasty. The service was attentive and because the weather was lovely (sunny & 60 in Feb) it was a beautiful visit. I found the crowd ecclectic, w/ groups of tourists, wealthy 20-somethings & families. Overall an A."
