Diner Reviews
  • "Had a reunion lunch with an old friend. Enjoyed everything. Service was a tad slow, but we weren't in a rush so that was OK. Will definitely return!"

  • "The bar is very nice but if you want to hang out and watch a game, it may be difficult since the TV is behind you. Very limited menu but the food was excellent. Recommend the kale ceasar and the salmon special was cooked perfectly. Nice choices of bourbon and a very friendly bar staff."

  • "My girlfriend and I went to listen to the jazz music on Saturday and we had a wonderful time. We had a very intimate table near the front and the sound was not overpowering. Although the menu could have had more choices we were very happy with our night out and will return to support the music program."

  • "Limited menu, so you should check it online before going. Food and service great--old style but not stuffy."

  • "This was a great time and a great experience. The music was at the level that I would expect from such a quality hotel. I recommend making reservations for the jazz night, because at this quality its going to get popular. The good was also excellent and creative, good for foodies and jazz lovers alike. I will return soon."

  • "My wife and I recently enjoyed a Sunday Brunch at Postscript. The food was excellent and well priced. Great wine list and the staff very friendly and efficient. The doorman provided valet service at no charge which was greatly appreciated since I had circled the block several times looking for a parking spot in midtown DC. We will certainly return here for brunch and will check out the Friday and Saturday evenings jazz events. I would highly recommend Postscript for a relaxing enjoyable meal."

  • "After now enjoying the weekend (Friday and Sat.) live Jazz performances at the Loews Madison hotel several times I can truly state that this is now one of my "go to" venues for great dining and entertainment. Here's why: The ambiance is intimate and not too loud. After a very nice dinner the instrumentation is simply a pianist, bassist and a vocalist. The absence of a drummer or additional instruments presents an experience devoid of excessive volume and also allows each performer to shine. You can hear the performance from anywhere in the dining room/seated areas and STILL have a conversation with your companion(s) - but doing so should be limited as a courtesy to others that may be listening. Service? Excellent and noteworthy."

  • "This was my third visit to the Postscript for the weekend jazz music series. There were 8 in our group and several other large parties which clearly threw the kitchen for a loop. Two in our group ordered appetizers that took a long while to come. Entrees that the rest of us ordered took 50-55 minutes--after the apps came! We were told that if apps are ordered, the remaining meals are delayed--a practice that should be discontinued immediately. The manager acknowledged issues when I spoke with him about the substantial delay in receiving our meals. He apologized and corrected our bills accordingly. I give the restaurant/staff high marks for customer service, I just hope the issues in the kitchen were a one-time fluke. I will return."

  • "I am a native Washingtonian and a major foodie. I had no idea that this restaurant was just a mile away from my home. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere amazing, definitely my new favorite lunch spot! Our waiter Daniel, should get some sort of award, he is best of the best. Note: make sure to try the Grilled Romaine Hearts salad."

  • "Visit PostScript on a Friday or Saturday night, have a good meal and hear some great jazz! This was my first visit to PostScript. The service was attentive, the food was great and the jazz excellent. I'll be back soon AND often."

  • "I went because Chris Grasso is booking the live jazz acts at the Madison now. He's a wonderful pianist and on 11/23, Paige was the guest vocalist. She sings with the Airmen of Note and she was fantastic! We sat at the bar and the service was friendly and attentive. The manager on duty in the restaurant area (I think his name was Mario) was on loan from a Loews in California. He was very helpful and attentive as well. For service, I give the place high marks. I had the burger and fries--it was good but not spectacular, and for dessert the peach pie a la mode was amazingly good. I will definitely be back weekends for the music."

  • "The jazz was very good. My chicken dish was delicious. My husbands lamb burger was overcooked. Our friends meals were good. Not exceptional"

  • "This is a good choice at the Lowes Madison Hotel. I've used it during business meetings at the hotel several times. On this trip I did business breakfast and lunch meals. The menu diversity and food quality are very good and the service was attentive. The restaurant has a good balance between elegance and casual ambiance. The soft seating is better than the typical hotel cafe as is the menu. the noise level allows easy conversation."
