PostoI live around the corner fromI live around the corner from Posto and it's a delight. Only complaint this evening was that service wa a trifle slow with dinner. This is unusual for Posto.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMfavorite Italian in DCalways reliable, great quality for the price, even the happy hour menu is great. convenient to most hotels in DuPont5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBets Better Each Time We Try PostoHave not been disappointed -- food tastss as good as its appearance and presentation5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBest place to host friends!Posto is a fantastic, enjoyable dining experience. Great place to meet friends and enjoy fine food and wine. The service is truly outstanding...thoughtful, responsive, educated. Menu is wonderful, but try the specials too...you want to see the chef's magic. A real highlight in DC.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food & service! We had a terrific meal and even better service at a leisurely meal before theater at Studio One. It was such a nice experience, we'll be back with or without theater. I will say that my branzino fish lacked some flavor that I resolved with much additional fresh lemon juice. This may just be the "nature of the beast" as it is a very light white fish. Just wish I could have tasted more of the oven roasted effect. My husband's meal was superb - he had the tilapia. The crostini was awesome - we tried one of all 3 varieties and the smoked salmon was the hands down winner, followed closely by the fresh pea. Cocktails and the wine we selected were great. Wish I could remember name of waiter as he was totally great!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMwarm, amiable, and deliciousIt's always a warm greeting by Omar. We were seated promptly this time (we had a long wait last time) and the food was delicious as it's always been. We took 2 new foodie friends who really liked it and thought we were regulars based on the greeting we are received. Hugs from waitresses and attentive staff, Another very nice experience at Posto!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentTwo friends and I went for dinner on a Saturday night. The restaraunt was lively and crowded, but we didn't have to wait very long. The food was wonderful and we had a great time.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThrilled to get table forThrilled to get table for our party of 8. Service, wine - an Italian Red, various salads - especially arugala, and pastas were a big hit with group. Noisy, but enjoyable.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond time as good as the firstPosto does not disappoint! I've had fish entrees (super fresh, perfectly cooked) both times and each time has been a wonderfully pleasant experience.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Italian CuisineAlthough Posto appears to lack some of the critical buzz -- and lines out the door -- of a few of its 14th Street neighbors, I find it regularly offers outstanding cooking. This was true again during my most recent meal. Rich, flavorful gnocchi was the latest superior pasta course I have had at Posto, followed by a perfectly prepared duck breast. Dessert and breads were excellent as well. Service is pleasant and helpful. As is typical in this neighborhood, the room tends to be on the noisy side, although not ear-splitting.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMParking nightmare!Because of construction parking was impossible! It took 30 minutes. I finally gave up and paid $17 to park in a lot.
Is valet too much to ask for? I was told there is no valet on Tuesdays because it is a slow night but the place was packed.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMdefinitely a neighborhood gemGreat location, ambiance very nice, food delicious.
Good place for large parties, unfortunately this also means greater noise level.
Came here for a special occasion, was not disappointed! Will definitely return!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBest choice near Studio TheaterIf you're going to the Studio Theater, this is the best restaurant in the neighborhood. I'll warn you that it's pricey, but the service and food are worth it. As the years go by, we keep trying other restaurants in the neighborhood, but we keep returning to Posto. They have an outdoor area, but you can also sit next to the huge windows and feel like you are outside.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistentPosto is consistent. Always imaginative food. Well prepared. Great service.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMViva PostoPosto is MY favorite ...neighborhood as well as generally. Just right for us. And the entrance of new restaurants in the neighborhood will NEVER replace it for me! Viva Posto4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMPosto... all around great placePosto is the dining spot of choice everytime we are in DC.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love the restaurant. ,We love the restaurant. , but even with our reservation we were kept waiting 20 or
30 minutes for a table. They did offer us a glass of prosecco during the long wait and gave us a free tiramisu at the end. But the wait was not expected or pleasant.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMPosto manages to combine aPosto manages to combine a chic scene with kid-friendliness....rare for an American restaurant. Food, wine, service is impeccable.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI wish they had a kids menu.I wish they had a kids menu. Would make it family friendly.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMA friend and I had a veryA friend and I had a very enjoyable dinner on a week night. The pizza appetizer was perfectly prepared and the salads were just the right size and dressings were very tasty. We both had the pasta with ragu sauce which was scrumptious - some of the best I've had in this area. I would go to Posto much more often if were easier to find parking nearby!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good Italian food. TheVery good Italian food. The recent menu changes are excellent.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, we had an inventiveAs always, we had an inventive salad and excellent, perfectly al dente pasta. This time we tried the pasta with lamb meatballs and guanicale. Would highly recommend it!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA JemThis was our first visit and we ordered two specialties of the day; Arctic Char with grilled Romaine and sautéed shallots, a soup special and three cheeses to end. The food was simply as well done as one could ask. It was the kink of dinner in which we wanted to keep running to the chef to tell him/her how much we liked what he/she had done. I can't tell you that it is like this every time, but we will certainly go back and begin a series of tests.
Also, if you are going to The Studio Theatre, as we were, the theatre is just next door.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great EveningGreat food and service on a busy Saturday night; the only off note was an overcooked bruschetta (sp?). Portion sizes were substantial and well prepared; and they make a terrific Manhattan. Good wait staff, and the manager (Omar?) was very accommodating. The restaurant was a little on the noisy side for me, but much better than many of the obnoxiously loud places along 14th Street.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA place to return toThis is a friendly place, semi fancy but not snooty. When I visit DC, I go to Posto. I know there are many Italian restaurants to choose from in DC but this is a know quantity.
Gets very busy before theatre performances so reserve.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, not so great table.Overall it was good, the food was good but took a while to come out. The only downside was our table was right next to the servers station. Not an ideal spot to sit anytime let alone after making a reservation ahead of time.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreatSolid Italian food, we love the new menu. The specials are always very well done. Good service and interesting new wine list.
Good job.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe pizza was delicious andThe pizza was delicious and the service was great!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experienceLove Posto - as always, had a fantastic experience dining at this establishment. I brought my parents who were in town visiting for the weekend, and they were thrilled with the meal and the service. We will definitely be back!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Option for a GroupWe ate at Posto as part of a birthday dinner party for 6 people. Upon arrival, we were told our table was being set up and then seated promptly. Our server was attentive and friendly. As a table, we opted to order many different items and share them "family" style". All of the dishes we ordered we delicious. There were 4 people in our party celebrating March birthdays and each was brought a dessert with candle at the end of the evening - a very nice & generous touch. The space can get a bit loud when the restaurant is full, so Posto might not be the best choice if you are looking to enjoy an intimate conversation during your meal.I will definitely return to Posto and highly recommend it.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMVery enjoyable. They areVery enjoyable. They are well aware of the people eating with a deadline for getting to Studio Theatre next door and take care of it efficiently. The place is fundamentally noisy, though they make some modest effort to keep the noise level managable.2/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Choice of PastaI went to Posto the night prior to undergoing oral surgery that would require me to follow a liquid-only diet for three days. Having had a heavy lunch, I thought a dinner of salad, pasta, bread, and wine would hit the spot. It did. As with previous visits, the food quality was very good. Pastas are a particular strength; for that matter, I remember the bread fondly as well. Service was friendly and efficient. January 2 is not a big night for dining, so the restaurant was less crowded and consequently considerably quieter than usual.1/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
