  • "I've eaten here twice now. The food options are very good although I was disappointed by their pizza. The thin crust was soggy. Other items are very good to excellent. I had the cavatelli, which is one of their few vegetarian options, and it was excellent. The sauce was delightfully complex and delicate and the pasta was chewy and delicious. My companions had the tagliatelle and gnocchi and liked both very much. We also had the arugula salad, which was enough for three people, and the other time the burrata, which was just good, but seemed a bit lacking. It might be better when fresh tomatoes are available. The wine list is excellent with many interesting options by the glass as well as by the bottle. The place is noisy and service good."

Our waitress was very attentive and provided excellent advice as to the menu. We ordered several pizzas all of which were excellent. I highly recommend the sea salt bread with the chili oil as an appetizer."

  • "Sublime, perfectly balanced, deep, rich flavors in everything we ate! Why haven't we been back to POSTO in a couple of years?! Delicious!! Starting with the chili butter grilled shrimp (head-on: the best part!), moving on to veal saltimboco and simply the BEST spaghetti carbonara EVER. And, although there were only two of us, we had to order a pizza "for the table" -- who can eat at POSTO and NOT have their pzza?!!! Of all of the new "true Italian pizzarias" popping up all over the greater Boston area, POSTO is the original, and still the best :) Can't wait to go back next week for brunch!"

  • "The menu is well balanced w/ classic & more unique fare. We started with the octopus-which was light with fresh flavors-and delicious cocktails. The octopus was so well done, J went for the carbonara and was really pleased with the choice. My tagliatelle was excellent, from the fresh pasta to the rich and flavorful ragu. We couldn't skip dessert, and the chocolate hazelnut cake was delightful. The biscuit on the bottom was a bit tough, but we were up to the challenge, and the taste was just right. The decaf coffee was a little weak, but it was never meant to be the star of the show anyway. Our servers were friendly and attentive, and moved with ease in the close space (it's a bit noisy). We will be back and will bring friends."

  • "Very nice atmosphere, food choices were excellent, great wine selection. The server was good but wouldn't leave us alone! We felt incredibly rushed, and it kinda ruined a nice romantic setting. I don't like checking in every 2 minutes after I told you were taking our time. I used to wait tables and always take care of waitstaff if I feel like I'm holding up their turnover, but this was just too much."

If we lived locally, we'd be back there again next week. Everything about our experience was top-notch. Give a little extra time to get there because parking nearby is sparse."

  • "Birthday celebration on 3/15! From the friendly reservationst Amanda to our lovely server Joanna K., the service at Posto was oustanding. And the food-- absolutley delcious! We started with t rosemary focaccia and warmed olives, then three abundant salads (Caesar, Arugula with Thyme Honey Vinaigrette, Beets with Whipped Gongonzola), followed by meltingly delcious shorttribs over pillowy gnocchi, a Fruta pizza (house-made bacon, apple, gorgonzola, best crust ever), and a meaty cod fillet wrapped in cripsy prosciutto with fingerlings & leeks. My Mom has not stopped raving about her short ribs-- "best meal I've had in years- the sauce, those gnochhi!" And for dessert: the lightest, most ethereal Tiramisu ever and a rich Choc-Hazelnut torta!"

The Caesar Salad had an excellent dressing although the romaine was quite pale and the salad was not very well composed, just thrown together. The Trenne Pasta with Wild Mushrooms had a nice pasta and an impressive assortment of mushrooms, but the sauce was too thin and was lacking in flavor, as if they didn't drain the pasta properly and it watered down the sauce. The Soppresatta pizza got mixed reviews. We agreed that the crust was great and it was well prepared but the soppressata salumi had a strong gaminess that I enjoyed but my wife didn't care for. Overall an enjoyable dining experience but every course was good, not great and a bit pricey for what you got."

The kitchen is part of the room and you can watch your food cleanly prepared in the background as you enjoy the company of your friend or friends. The breadsticks are handmade, crisp, salty and tasty, presented in a glass a bit like a flower arrangement. The food is filling and tasty. I had the pork belly gnocci and really loved it. The biscotti was huge and went really well with my after-dinner coffee. Our waitperson was there when we needed and didn't interrupt us otherwise. A delightful experience all around."

  • "Went to Posto with my parents last Thursday, and we all LOVED this place. The ambiance was perfect, dim lighting (which my mom loves), and good level of music and chatter but nothing too loud. The wine list was comprehensive but had some reasonably priced bottles - we had a delicious Sangiovese. The food was also amazing! Great appetizers (arancini and meatballs) and great entrees! They even had a few options for special vegetarian pasta dishes which were way more than the penne/ veggies/ oil olive that I see at many restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place to all - but be sure to make reservations!"

I don't mind waiting for a table because you can get a glass of wine and enjoy the atmosphere. My husband and I had been there recently but went back Valentine's Day weekend because it is always a great night. We would love it if they would bring back the burger."

  • "Yum! Yum! Yum! We were looking for Italian food and didn't want to head into Boston. Posto was the perfect answer. Good ambience, warm and cozy and our server was the best we've had in ages. She was knowledgeable with her wine recommendations and equally prepared to suggest pairings/dishes. We followed her lead and so glad we did. We'll return and will definitely ask for her again.   • "We had to take a 5:15 reservation because nothing later was available, but the place was already hopping, surprised us! We chose to go with pizza and salad, delighted with both. If you like mushrooms, the Fiorentina is wonderful. The desserts are excellent, affogato and apple strudel. We had a wonderful waitstaff, no rushing to get us out for the next party. The server even stored our pizza boxes in kitchen until we were ready to leave, which is a nice touch. Nice truffles with our check! We always enjoy our meals at POSTO."
