Diner Reviews
  • "I've eaten at Posto twice and the food has been excellent to very good. Recommended: porchetta roast on Sunday, saltimbocca, braised ribs with gnocchi. Rosemary salt bread is super."

  • "We found this by accident and have come back a few times. Never disappointed. One of our favorite restaurants."

  • "Third night in town and Open Table diners had guided us to other great places... but by far this was the best!! Arrived at beginning of dinner seating and got a great inside table near windows. Server Jaime was a doll and chatted about Colleges (glad she didn't go to Grad school) and made recomendations on menu. Must have Gnocchi was indeed just that. Hubby and daughter both enjoyed. My goat cheese pizza was outstanding. Glad we found you and hope to be back soon!"

  • "So happy we found this place, a great place to get some amazing pizza without having to trek into the north end! Ordered one with pork and red onions, so delicious! Also loved the crab tortellini with peas, best pasta dish I have had in a while. Can't wait to go back and work my way through the whole menu! Love the drink menu too, great beer selection and many gin based drinks which is hard to come by these days."

  • "Posto just never fails us! They get 5 stars for constantly providing great service and even better food. They switch up the menu every so often to keep things interesting and often have specials (on the low side for what I'm used to from other like Italian restaurants), but at this point I'm just being picky. SO excited to hear they are rolling out with a food truck!"

  • "We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Posto. We passed it one night driving through Davis Square and the aroma was intoxicating. So we booked a reservation. We split an appetizer, a salad, and a pizza - a great way to go. But the entrees sounded and looked great too. Nice touch before we left - the manager checked in to see how everything was. Will definitely return."

  • "We saw the ad in Edible Boston and are pleased we did. Loved the food - much more ambitious than we expected. We were seated immediately on a very busy evening. Our server was delightful. The Caponata pizza with charred grapes as a starter for 4 was outstanding. Half order of pasta was perfect. Afigato - my favorite dessert - was ambrosia. We'll go again - and again."

  • "Posto always treats us as family, their service couldn't be better. when they see our name on the reservation list they get our table prepared ahead of time. They make sure our kid's pizza is cut into extra squares to make it easier for them and us. The food is great, but it is the service that keeps us going back again and again."

  • "I've been to Posto three times now and each time has been fantastic! The first time, we sat on the patio and it began to rain buckets! They tried to accommodate everyone inside but we finished our delicious carpaccio and vowed to return. The service and attention to detail is superb and the food really is a fantastic take on authentic Italian wood fired pizza. I'm usually the kind of food fan who will find a dish I love and have trouble diverting to new and exciting things but the menu at Posto is so spot on that I've tried something new every time and loved every bite. As if all this wasn't already enough, they have a great little seasonal beer selection and the wine menu is also notable (I'm a beer person). Eat Here!"

  • "Mentioned when making a reservation that we were coming for a birthday celebration, and we were treated like VIPs. On top of the great meal? A fantastic experience."

  • "The menu was right in keeping with the ambience: fresh, stylish, and yet unpretentious. A shiny gem on a relatively quite block in Davis Square, the restaurant clearly offers an uplifting and delicious food experience rather than a trendy showcase with predictable flavors and wines. Kudos to Posto!"

  • "This is a great addition to the Davis Sq food scene. My only complaint is the pizza crust should be cooked a little better. It should be crunchy yes??? The service here is always excellent."

  • "The food was delicious, service excellent, noise level no problem. We had hoped to eat outside but it was in full sun when we arrived so they accommodated us inside. A great evening. And we biked from Belmont on the bike path to Davis Square - faster than driving and no parking hassles!"

  • "I took my mom and mother-in-law to Posto because it is a neighborhood gem. We had an excellent waitress named Jaime who was chatty and lovable but never over-bearing. The food was not only pleasing to the eye (absolutely beautiful presentations) but also just as delicious as they were beautiful. We will most certainly be back again and again!"

  • "Having had a favorable experience at Posto last July, we returned this June during a stay in Cambridge (we're from out of state). We were, in part, celebrating our daughter's 25th birthday. While the drinks, appetizer, and salads were all quite good (especially the calamari) and arrived in a timely manner, the two entrees we ordered to share took way too long (45 minutes?) to be served after finishing the first course. It was obvious that the waitress had forgotten to "fire" the order, but instead of approaching our table and admitting the lapse, we were pretty much ignored. We asked someone else about the status of our entrees and the whereabouts of the additional glass of wine we ordered. We'll visit another restaurant next time."

  • "Went last night before English Beat at Johnny D's. We couldn't have had a better meal! The service was perfect and the food was innovative and delicious. We started with the grilled octopus, the shrimp (amazing!) and bruschetta -- all incredible. My husband then got the cod (I believe wrapped in bacon)? He said it was wonderful. At one point they were setting up a table behind us with beautiful pink rose bouquets - I asked the general manager what the occasion was for and he explained that it was for two engagements and one breast cancer recovery. I thought and said -- that's a lot to celebrate! They even had made up special menus to celebrate and commemorate the wonderful occasion. I absolutely recommend this gem in Davis Square"

  • "Posto had a nice vibe and friendly staff and offered interesting menu selections. However, the prices were too high for the quality of food we received. I was really put off by the fact that virtually all of the appetizers were over $10 a piece. That's an uncomfortable price point for me when it comes to casual dining and Posto set a pretty high bar for itself given those costs. To me, it did not deliver. There are many wonderful spots in Cambridge and Somerville, I don't think I would choose to spend (so many of) my dining dollar here again."

  • "My fiancee and I took our visiting friends here for dinner to show them a good wood-fired pizza place. We lounged over appetizers, many glasses of wine, leisurely entrees, and finally, a decadent slice of chocolate torte. We never were rushed, our waiter was full of delicious suggestions, and we laughed and talked over Posto's intriguing Italian wine selection."

  • "Posto was fantastic! Great seasonal food, great atmosphere, fantastic service, excellent drinks!! We love Posto!"

  • "Servers were very friendly. Nice, interesting room - we had a good spot by a window, which was the next-best thing to sitting outside. The calamari appetizer and the pizza were really good. We want to go back and try some of the other appetizers and pizzas."

  • "My husband & I were celebrating an anniversary, we were given a nicely situated table & were treated exceptionally. The waitress (Jamie) was friendly, happy and attentive, she was fabulous!! The manager was charming & hospitable. The food was delicious, far beyond our expectations. (We had a combo ghocchi/spaghetti dinner and we were very pleased, we loved it! Meatballs were as good as all the reviews had said they were ... Dessert sampling was fabulous too! We loved the experience & we will definitely be back!"

  • "We've been here several times and have never been disappointed. Excellent food and service. Lively atmosphere. Nice beer and wine choices. I'm a carnivore but opted most recently for a vegetarian dish and it was excellent. The place is a bit pricey but the overall experience has been worth it."

  • "Food was amazing...I had the gnocchi and my husband had the chicken. Our server, Larissa, was the best...I'm so glad she took care of us because bad service can ruin the overall dining experience but she was top notch! Thank you!"

  • "I went for the first time to posto on Friday June 13th... was surprising my boyfriend for a celebratory dinner... the Environment was great... service was spot on.. and the food was absolutely delicious... the menu was versatile and we enjoyed the authentic feel... overall great date night.. I was referred to posto by a friend and now I'm happy to say I would gladly recumbent posto to other friends!!"

  • "My friend and I went here for dinner on a Friday night. We had reservations so we only had to wait about 10 minutes. I highly recommend making reservations. The parking is tough. What they consider a parking lot, is really just a driveway. I can fit more cars in my driveway then they can. I ordered the cod dinner. I told our server it was the best piece of fish I have ever had. My friend had the tortellini with crab. He was also very pleased. We split the Apple crostada for dessert. The dessert was wonderful! If you can sit in the little room at the back it is less noisy."

  • "We went for a special occasion and it WAS made more special by the terrific atmosphere-a quiet back room that looks out onto the light and crowd filled main room; a fabulous and delightful wait person named Jo Jo; and fabulous food-including a terrific "Verdure" plate designed for a discerning vegetarian!! A perfect evening!!!"

  • "Posto does not disappoint with wonderful service and great food. The tiramisu was good but not great, though pizza and arancini were fab. A favorite spot for sure!"
    Dined on 6/10/2014
  • "Food was good, maybe even very good but not great. Servers were cute, but service was just ok. Wrong drink came first time around. Food came too quickly -- didn't have time to finish appetizers before next course came. No clean plates came with the 2nd course though we specifically told the server we would be sharing. Pizza was good but not great. I won't go out of my way to go there again."

  • "POSTO has a very laid back, casual vibe and the dining room is a nice, big, open space with an open kitchen. They make their pizza to order in a wood fired oven and so the end result is an extremely fresh, soft dough that tastes delicious. I especially loved their white pizza with mushrooms and spinach. I'm looking forward to going back for their pasta."

  • "Hotness remembered that we are celebrating a graduation when we walked in. Server was great as well, exuberant lady. Pizza was good, pasta was average. Good neighborhood restaurant. Nose level was a little high."

  • "Went with friends we all ordered different pizzas to share. Everything was great"

  • "I was very pleased with my experience at Posto. The food & ambiance were excellent. I had to wait for over 20 minutes despite showing up on time for my reservation....that was annoying but the staff was courteous."

  • "My spouse and I get to Posto every couple of months. Since winter, there has been a noticeable trend toward mediocrity from a kitchen that had previously been consistent and inventive. Even the signature arancini appetizer, which has been a mainstay here, is todfay bland, served with a sauce that, while still homemade, also lacks distinction. And we really miss the halfplate options that used to be on the menu."

  • "Loved it. Amazing desserts!!! Food and wine are great too but desserts are to die for! Loved the atmosphere too. "
