And clients!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMA memorable birthday dinnerIn honor of our twin sons' 25th birthday, we had tickets to the Lyric Stage Theater and Post 390 is conveniently just a few steps away. We arrived at the restaurant and were greeted and seated immediately. Our waiter was helpful, witty, attentive and sweet without being cloying and overbearing. The mixed drinks were creative and the food was superb.
At dinner we had not made a fuss about the birthdays, but, our wonderful waiter had noted the names of our sons. When dessert arrived, each of the boys had a single lit candle on their dessert and "Happy Birthday" written on the edge of the plate.
What an awesome night! The food was truly memorable and the service was such that we we are sure to go back for future special occasions.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingService was wonderful - attentive, but unobtrusive. We indicated that we wanted to take our time and our server gave us plenty of space, but was there the minute she was needed.
For appetizers, we had the ahi tuna poke and the steak and red beet tartare. Both were excellent. Servings were good size and the food was delicious.
For dinner, I had the daily special, red fish. On a scale of 1-10 I would give it an 8.5. It is prepared simply and was wonderful, but a little on the salty side.
My daughter had the steak and it was awesome.
For drinks, my daughter had their special gimlet and I had their special manhattan. Both were well made and delicious. We then shared a bottle of excellent, reasonably priced wine.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were very pleased withWe were very pleased with our experience at Post 390. We ate there before theater so we didn't have much time. We let the restaurant know that we only had a little over an hour to eat, and we were very happy because we were able to each order appetizers and entrées and eat comfortably during the allotted time. The crab and watermelon appetizer was refreshing and delicious! My husband also enjoyed his tuna appetizer. The chicken was savory and well prepared. The swordfish was also excellent! My friend was very pleased with the steak frites. Our server understood our needs, and we were able to enjoy a relaxing meal despite the time constraints. The room filled as the evening progressed but the noise level never hindered our conversation. Can't wait to retunr.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went here for our pre-marathonWe went here for our pre-marathon dinner and I was the one running, I was happy with my pasta dish, did the job I ran my fastest marathon to date :-), my family all raved about how good their meals were... someone had the smoked whole fish, very impressive presentation. My husband and a few others had the flank steak and raved about it. The service played a shell game with the sparkling water bottles which became an interruption, along with many check in to see if we were ready to order. Over-touch is a rare service problem, but that's why I dig the service to average.

Post 390 offered the option to add a wine pairing to each course, which was superbly done, as to be expected, and really made the meal. The service was fantastic, our server had great drink recommendation for my boyfriend who was looking for a new beer, and had a sense of humor to boot. The downstairs is really pretty with a fireplace in the center of the room. We were seated on the second floor - which was nice and bright with the natural sunlight coming through the windows. Service was slow, but our server was knowledgeable about the menu and once he did come over, he never rushed us with our questions. The food was great!
