Although we were early for our reservation after sightseeing and they were able to seat us promptly. The atmosphere was light and relaxed. We had a wonderful dinner after spending some time in Old City and seeing the historic sites. Wonderful food! We liked the fact that they had 1/2 (small) servings of pasta for some of the seniors in our group who don't eat a lot. Service was prompt and very friendly. Server had just the right amount of conversation without being overbearing. Our Mussel appetizer was wonderful and easily could be shared with four people. Cocktails were delicious - especially the Margaritas! The Manhattan was also excellent. While the restaurant seems a little out of place in historica "old city" Philadelphia, with its cobalt blue walls and Amalfi coast murals, it is an excellent, airy, well lit restaurant with a good menu, terrific food and service, and a decent, affordable wine list. We sat outside near the bar, and enjoyed our meal. This was a special occasion for us -- 29th anniversary -- and we were pleased with the experience. It was probably not quite as romantic a setting as one might expect, and the acrylic chairs were a little, well, casual, but the overall experience was pleasant. The food has actually gotten better over the years. Very fresh and well prepared. Had their halibut twice in one week and love the artichoke salad. Also love the frito misto when I am not watching my calories. Very fun atmosphere with lovely views of the historic area. So convenient after a movie at the Ritz. The details/ambiance within the restaurant were truly the perfect representation of what our experience was in Positano.
The food was amazing. My wife and I shared the 5 course dinner, which is available Mon-Thur (check the website just to be sure), and it allowed us to taste several different options. Food was flavorful, but not over the top. Our waitress was helpful in picking a wine that went well with our meal. Although, I'm not a wine connoisseur, the wine we had from the Amalfi Coast was perfect.
