A word from Posh - Richmond
Welcome to Posh - Richmond, the start of the Posh restaurant organization. The store at Richmond opened its doors January 2007 and was the first in the restaurant chain. This 50 seat location is located in the heart of Richmond, in the Golden Village. As the first exclusive Sukiyaki restaurant in Richmond and in North America, this location was where the invention, development and fine tuning of the Sukiyaki concept took form.

  • Sukiyaki all-you-can-eat is rare.

Posh is a small restaurant sandwiched between two way-more popular restaurants, Pearl Castle and Deer Garden. It only seats about 20 people. I like its food. Food variety is lacking, but this is supposed to be Japanese sukiyaki, not Chinese hotpot. The soy sauce tastes great, and the hot sauce was not as spicy as it looks. I saw some comments that said that the meat was sliced too thin, which doesn't really matter, since this is AYCE for less than $20 per person. Also, for $4 extra, each person can get all-you-can-drink. There was about 10 kinds of fruity drinks to choose from, and I like the lychee calpis the most. They need to clean their tableclothes more often, as there was a film of grease on the table when we came in.

We used to go to Posh in Richmond a lot when it just grand opened. We stopped going for a while and decided to give it another try for dinner. It's a hot spot all-u-can-eat restaurant, but we noticed that the selection on the menu is very limited comparing with our previous experience. This does not make sense to us as they raised the price with lesser options on the menu.

Food was good, service quite fast. But as with other all-you-can-eat places where you have to order what you want, we didn't get everything we ordered each time. Still, all in all, a fun night with great food. Kids loved it as much as we did.

As other reviewers have said, this isn't a place you'd visit for the service. Tea costs extra, and glasses of water aren't offered unless you ask. But with a coupon, the food is worth trying.
