Our experience was quite the opposite. We were seated almost immediately at an ocean front table. Our servers were fast, helpful and attentive. The food was very good. We only had seafood dishes (ceviche, scallops and sea bass) which were fresh and well prepared. The atmosphere was somewhat loud as this is a very popular spot. I made a reservation on Open Table for my 39th Anniversary. In the comment section I asked for a table with a view since this was our first time there and also a special occasion. We got a table right on the water and what a view it was. Our wait staff person Ginger was an absolute delight. She helped us with our selections and answered all of our questions, took our picture and was really very sweet. My husband had the 18 oz. bone-in Rib Eye steak, perfectly cooked medium. I had the Scallops and again, cooked perfectly. We also shared a Caesar salad and the buttermilk cheesecake. Perfect ending to a lovely day. My only complaint is that Poseidon, like more and more restaurants had such a high noise level that conversation was difficult until late when many diners left the restaurant. I arrived right on time and was told there would be a wait for a table with a good view. There were 3 unoccupied 4-tops right next to the beach but I was seated inside with a peek of a view. One can only wonder who the prime tables were being saved for.
We had 4 different servers during our meal. While we occasionally had to chase one down they were all cheerful and helpful and did a remarkably good job considering how busy they were. The server was very helpful by making suggestions for 5 takeout desserts - recommended best ones for travel.
