Posana CafeThe food and atmosphere andThe food and atmosphere and staff have always been outstanding. Recently decorated, it's now the most beautiful restaurant in Asheville too! Best kale salad on the planet.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDecadent!Brunch was a really great here. The lobster omelet did not skimp and was nothing short of decadent; a definite recommendation. The pancakes topped with blueberry cream, pecans and ginger maple syrup (daily special) was unique and delicious. The coffee was also quite tasty.
The staff was great. Attentive, but not overly so. Ambiance was modern. My dining party sat inside, but the patio looked like a great spot to enjoy a meal and people watch.
Definitely recommend.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ServiceThis was our 1st time at Posana and we will go back. The Host Sat. Night was very kind and our waitress Teresa was great.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for brunch. Newly renovatedWent for brunch. Newly renovated interior is welcoming with outdoor seating available as well. Pleasant seating on square--good for people watching. Menu choices somewhat limited but varied. Guests had trout which they said was excellent. An innovative BLT sandwich was delicious. Attentive server was helpful and friendly. A nice setting for a meal on the square (Pack Square).5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food & people watchingThe interior is nicely decorated but is kind of a corridor to the outside.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMNever disappointedPosana is one of my favorite Asheville restaurants. The food is always excellent and the servers are well trained. Recent remodeling has improved the appearance (which never was bad) but unfortunately the entryway suffered a bit in the redesign of the floor plan - traffic jams with customers trying to come in, customers trying to leave, and servers carrying food to outdoor tables ... but that's no reason to avoid the restaurant. It's definitely a thumbs up restaurant.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVED Posana! We loved Posana so much we dined here 2 of 3 nights we were in town. I have never encountered such a delicious gluten free menu, there were so many options to choose, both entrees and desserts. I can't wait to return to Asheville to dine here again.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMPosana on a WednesdayGood service, great local well prepared food but a little short of the sauce, clean. Music a bit annoying but at least it wasn't too loud. Could expand the desert menu a bit. Bar made good drinks.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA perfect date nightAbsolutely esquisite experience. Food was outstanding throughout the courses. Service was impeccable. I have eaten at a lot of the restaurants in Asheville, this was the best all around meal I've had. Would recommend to anyone for any type of function.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great experiencePosana's Cafe is not only my favorite restaurant for the great food, it is Gluten
Free. The atmosphere is elegant and intimate. The staff is helpful and efficient.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat MenuMenu is completely gluten free! Wife is gluten intolerant and we had never found a restaurant that was completely gluten free. She was thrilled, the food was great and we both were very happy about the experience!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AM100% Gluten Free!!I could order ANYTHING on the menu ! No picking through the usual limited GF offerings. I can't wait to go back and have the Lobster Mac and Cheese again and again. Great drinks and service too!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat LocationRecently redecorated and just reopened, they are still working out some of the kinks in service. We walked past Posana Cafe several times over the weekend and the dinner smell was mouth-watering. They were also busy late into the night with a nice sidewalk nook for when the weather cooperates. We ate there for Mother's Day Brunch. Out of the four of us, three were satisfied - beware of the pimento cheese.
If you visit for brunch, ask NOT to be seated at the window tables - the heat from the sun was extreme. They obviously don't have low E glass.
Overall, I would eat here again; however, there are many options in this part of town and it would be hard to try them all even over several visits to Asheville.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Gluten-Free RestaurantWe chose this restaurant because everything (except the draft beer) is gluten free. It was a good choice as the food was very different and creative, but good. I would like to see a few more kid-friendly items (smaller portions), however, there were some good options for kids. The service was pretty good as well. The only thing I would note is I was told that the bar opens at 4:00 and their hours on their door indicate that, but when we arrived at 4:40 to have a drink, we were told the staff was having their dinner at the bar and we had to come back at 5:00. We would definitely go back!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodEverything we had to eat here was exceptional. The lobster gnocci mac and cheese was probably my favorite. On the plus side, everything at this restaurant (besides a few beers) is gluten-free for anyone that has food allergies, although they don't advertise it as such. It is definitely worth going to this restaurant if you are in Asheville. They also had some Chinese Elixir drinks that you can concoct to try to remedy whatever is ailing you, I mixed some with a Buchi and didn't notice any bad aftertaste.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Gluten-Free Dining!I visited this restaurant with a non-GF friend. (I didn't even see a mention on the menu that the restaurant is totally GF, but the waiter confirmed that the kitchen in 100% GF.) The gluten-free issue aside, the food at this restaurant is FANTASTIC. I have made it a mission to eat at fine dining restaurants all over the country and it is rare - VERY rare - for every single dish to be so delicious that I would order it again. My friend and I shared two apps (fried green tomatoes and kale salad), sampled each other's mains (she had the pork chop and I had a fish dish that was new to the menu) and shared the chocolate pot de creme for dessert. Two amazing decaf cappuccino's finished out the evening. I would order every single thing again!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMEvery time I visit AshevilleEvery time I visit Asheville I make sure I eat at Posana. The best menu in town! Peter, please open up in Charlotte soon!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome gluten free restaurant!Went to brunch with the family and loved the food! The meal was fantastic and completely gluten free. I have celiac disease but no one else in my family does and they even thought that the food was fantastic. The food came out a little slow but the service was overall good. Out server was very friendly and helpful as well. We got some sticky buns, a muffin, and a slice of coffee cake to go and all were very good!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic place - great foodFantastic place - great food AND it's all gluten free! Great even if you aren't on gluten free diet. Had the trout - was terrific and the cheesecake was awesome. Get there early for brunch to get a gluten free sticky bun - folks stop in just to take a half dozen home - so don't hesitate or you'll miss out on a real treat.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Place for Gluten-Free DinersI appreciated the gluten-free menu, and the food was delicious.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat findSeasonal menu, locally sourced foods.
The waitress we had was great! We couldn't decide on a bottle of wine so she let us taste a few before choosing. Very nice!
Never felt rushed. They let you enjoy your meal and take your time. No pushing to get you out, even when the restaurant is busy.
Only drawback for us was the noise. It was hard to have a conversation, it felt like you were shouting most of the evening.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesomeVery good restaurant! My soup da jour was good, but not great - it was very healthy tasting, which I appreciate. My wife's kale salad was awesome. Everyone in our party enjoyed their salads and entrees. Food is prepared in an innovative fashion and the dishes are very creative. Would definitely go again if I travel to Ashville!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMgood food and staffThis was the second time I have been at this restaurant. The first time was so very lovely that we called the manger over just to rave on the food and wait staff. This time was almost as good. Wait staff was still very attentive, but the food was just slightly lower in quality but still well above most places you go to. I will return as they have won me over as a loyal patron.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I are gluten freeMy wife and I are gluten free due to food intolarence and it was wonderful to be able to eat and not worry about the food! They also had a great selection which is rare at most places that offer gluten free selections and the food was GREAT!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food in a hurry!Great food, ok service. Everything we ordered was wonderfully presented and delicious. However, we were rushed throughout dinner. Courses arrived while others were still being consumed which is something that I would expect from Applebee's, not from someplace where dinner for two costs around $120. Again, the food was superb, they just need to work on their timing and not rushing the dining experience.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI enjoy coming to this restaurantI enjoy coming to this restaurant because the food is generally excellent and the ambiance is very relaxing. The noise level is very quiet, so it makes it easy to have long conversations and be able to hear the other person. Seems like so many restaurants have loud music and it's hard to relax. Only issue we had with food is we asked for the burger to be cooked medium rare, and it came out well done. Also the bun on the burger was crumbling apart as my husband ate it. This is the only issue we have had with food, ever. The cocktails are yummy and use great ingredients. Highly recommend.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMNice Sunday Brunch. The trout place was good, and the sausage was delicious. Overall a delightful downtown Sunday brunch.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to dine in Asheville.Great place to dine in Asheville. The food was excellent and it is in a great location. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. He could have stopped by a bit more frequently, but given we sat outside it was understandable. That is really nit-picking. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely go back.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough, not noted on theAlthough, not noted on the menu... The entire restaurant is gluten-free.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't miss this gem.We had not heard of this restaurant nor had it been recommended by anyone. We just happened to pick Posana with the help of Yelp. We were very pleasantly surprised with everything about our meal. The restaurant itself has a wonderful relaxed ambiance with muted overhead lighting, a light at each table, a handsome bar, and spacious seating. Our server was pleasant and knowledgable about the restaurant's offerings. The service itself was precise without being overwhelming. The food was creative, cooked as ordered, served hot, and very very tasty.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
