I have food restrictions and the waiter was able to point out things on the menu for me. He explained their kitchen is gluten free. They go overboard to let you know they can work with you to prepare a dish you can eat and will like. I had the rubbed tofu over black rice and my friend had the fried brussel sprouts. We split a kale salad. Everything was wonderful.

We have been to Posana multiple times, and we will continue to return again and again. The food is always superb (I've literally never had a complaint), and the service is excellent. Furthermore, I am gluten free, and it is unheard of for me to be able to order ANYTHING from the menu. My husband, who is not gluten free, could also eat here any day of the week. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, regardless of their dietary needs/restrictions, and I cannot wait to return.

We met friends from TN for brunch, and were impressed by the location of the restaurant -- right down town in Asheville on Pack Square. We received a quiet table toward the back with a good waitress serving us. She was attentive, caring, and ensured we were ok throughout the meal. Unfortunately, the food was bland; and the menu did little to inspire a return. My wife had the special soup, a Potato Soup with Horseradish, that only had a small hint of the condiment. Her quinoa salad was acceptable, although very little spice was added to highlight the salad. Another in our party ordered the Greek Omelette which consisted of, among other things, Greek Olives and Feta with Cheese Grits on the side. Although the bright yellow presentation of the omelette piqued the senses, the taste was mediocre at best. The omelette was short on ingredients that would have classified it as 'Greek' and more concerned with how it looked on the plate. The grits were 'gritty' without the smooth, creamy taste expected from well-cooked grits. We went expecting more from a restaurant that came highly recommended and came away disappointed.

Recently new to gluten free world, but husband was not overly optimistic...both of us were impressed with the whole experience. Reservations are a must here - we were there on a Sat. night and they must have turned away at least 35 people between 7-9! We were early and had a drink at bar - bartenders were extremely nice and helped us pick wine. Once seated, our server was also very attentive. Food far exceeded our expectations...the best kale salad ever! We had the steak and duck and they were both perfect. Dessert was also wonderful - couldn't believe it was all gluten free.

Staff are really friendly and informative. The food is fresh, clean and you can really taste the difference in farm produce, yummy!! Great wine list that is sustainable and organic. Worth staying for at least 2 hours and enjoying every course....Notable eye spy was the sweet tea (elaborate to say the least). Oh and triple filtered water!! Nice to not taste tap water...Would thoroughly recommend and we will return on our next visit to Asheville.

I love Posana Cafe because I don't need to worry about adhering to my gluten free diet! This restaurant is an oasis for people with celiac disease, but you would never know that all of the food is gluten free - it's all so delicious! We started with the apple beignets (DELICIOUS!) and each enjoyed our entrees. I loved that I could order chocolate cake AND have a bit of my boyfriend's tiramisu - all gluten free. Posana Cafe is my favorite part about visiting Asheville!

My husband and I were in Asheville for the weekend. Selected Posana based on it's menu, Contemporary American, Farm to Table, and location. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and contemporary furnishings. We ordered cauliflower soup, kale salad, duck breast, trout with pastrami spices and maple cheesecake. Everything was delicious. We also discovered a nice affordable NC wine "Ring of Fire". It was a lovely evening.

From the ambiance to the wait staff and out the door, this restaurant beams with excellence! Martini was cold, delicious, and served in the throwback glass. Our server smiled and genuinely seemed to love her job. I had the beet salad with Three Graces goat cheese. I make this myself, but Posana's was much more flavorful, with small beet squares, a blast of tangy grapefruit and nutty pistachio. The goat cheese was mixed in with a smooth and creamy consistency. My Pastrami trout hinted of coriander with a tinge of pumpkin flavor. The cabbage added just the right pickling zing. Small tasty cauliflower underneath the fish satisfied my veggie longing. For dessert, I had the apple crisp with fresh, tart and sweet fruit and soft buttery crumbs

A gem in the heart if downtown. Ambience very nice....happening, but not too loud for a nice relaxing meal and conversation. Service-prompt and courteous, not overbearing. Time from order to recieving was right on- perfect for a leisurely meal including apps, entree, dessert. Good beer and wine list. The food was excellent! Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that my entree, while good, was not quite as taste-bud tantalizing as the apps and my fellow diners' entrees. (Apps: seared tuna and seared sea scallops...both wonderful. Entrees: I had the chicken....I sampled the duck breast and ribeye- chicken:flavors nice but a tad over-cooked; ribeye complex flavors and duck- savory). Quinoa & collards wonderful! Desserts were heavenly!

Posana has been a blessing to my wife & I. The outstanding food, service, and attention to putting the customer first is second to none. This is by far our favorite restaurant, so much so that anytime we are passing through Asheville we will call ahead for take out. My wife has silliacs disease which makes eating out a risky option. Posana takes that worry away and on top of it gives us a great "part of the family" feeling when we walk in. Couldn't be happier with everything about this place!

I would have to say, the food wasn't anything to write home about. I thought the restaurant was well over priced and light on the wine pours. I can buy the same Scotch, four bucks cheaper down the street and get a better meal for a lot less. The chicken was great, the potatoes were cold and the collards were like leather. Just being honest here because the people should know.

Me and my wife had a disappointing experience at Posana Cafe this past Sat night. We arrived with high expectations given our dining experience the day before at Rhubarb (next door) and Curate (which is simply amazing). The ambience was not what we expected. It was too bright and we were seated next to a group of 15 or so girls who seemed like they were out on prom night. It was *very* loud. The wine list was average. The food was satisfactory. I ordered the chicken and my wife got the trout and both came out well. Nice presentation, good flavor but nothing spectacular. Given the choices of restaurants available close by (the 2 I already mentioned plus there is Kathmandu and Salsas nearby), I would pass on Posana next time.

3 people in my family are Gluten Free. While vacationing around Asheville I heard about this all GF restaurant. Although it can be a bit more than I would normally spend on a meal for 5 (163 + tip) it was more than worth it. The staff was very welcoming and accommodated off the menu cocktails for my father, the food blew me away let alone my father, mother and sister who have very strict diets. We would suggest the yellow fin appetizer, the grass fed burger, the trout, the chicken and definitely one of their signature cocktails. If you didn't goto their website or hear about them verbally, you wouldn't know that every food item is GF, as its not stated anywhere on the menu. Posana can pull that off with their fame and class.

Posana is a beautifully decorated restaurant. With that, it is too loud, the tables are not suited for an intimate group of 5, way too spread out...way to noisy...The food is just okay, my trout was not good at all. The ribeye was not tender, rubbery at best...my chopped kale salad was delicious and the dessert we all shared was nice. The ladies room needs a big uplift, and clean up. The service was warm and caring, but far from professional...if I was back in Asheville, I would skip this one...We did enjoy our wine selection.

The entire menu is gluten free...for those of us who suffer from gluten allergies, but still love food, this is rare...and even rarer that it is SO GOOD! We dined during a Sunday brunch. I had a hamburger with a real hamburger bun made fresh in the restautant. My husband had a chicken sandwich with pimento cheese on foccacia. Being a good southern girl who misses her biscuits I HAD to order a biscuit as well.....OMG!!! SO GOOD! In fact, I took another one for the road, and added a scone and a muffin for breakfast later in the week. The food is fresh, flavorful, and if you didn't know it was GF you could never tell. Service was leisurely but very attentive. Portions were ample and we both left extremely satisfied.
