Diner Reviews
  • "It was a perfect day for dining on the patio with the tall ships and three story high duck in sight. A favorite spot for us."

  • "I was here during a weekday - a Wednesday; I thought we were dining early (7:00pm) but we were about the last people in the dining room we were in, which was kind of nice. Food was excellent. The stuffed mushrooms were good. I had a salmon with a shrimp topping, although as I'm very mildly alergic to spinach asked for it on the side, but got 'all of the topping' on the side; no biggie. I guess it was in a big jug or something. My date liked the crab cakes so much she's bringing her daughter there for them tonight :) When we left, the bar/casual area seemed pretty crowded. We were there to chat, but it was nice seeing both ambiances in the same place. Parking was very easy"

  • "Awesome food, expected smaller portions because of the fancy nature of the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised with the more than enough portions."

  • "Port's O'Call is a very nice restaurant, I took 4 friend and we enjoyed the music and drinks but the food was salty, dry and burt. I've been there before and the food was excelent but not this time."

  • "Brunch was delicious and champagne was endless. Very nice ambience... Next time I think of brunch this place is high on my list."

  • "The food & ambiance were great. Our waiter was hopefully just having an off day. I would definitely try this restaurant again with anticipation of better service."

  • "The old adage that waterside restaurants have mediocre food definitely proven wrong. Best brunch ever."
    Dined on 7/13/2014
  • "Terrible expirienced with foods and atmostphere, music is toooo lound unable to communicate either friend or waitress, credit card machine had a problem end up to find a ATM for cash. Food came out fast but no taste.:( only one that satisfied is service."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "I thought the food was good, but they could have more variety for the salad bar."

  • "We really enjoyed the restaurant. Friendly with a nice view of the water. Good food an reasonable prices."

  • "This brunch was as advertised. No one could possibly go away hungry. Service was attentive and cordial."
    Dined on 6/29/2014
  • "Service is fair, expect to have to remind your server to bring your drinks and food. Ceviche has absolutely no flavor of any kind. View is good except for the regular breezes of dead fish smell that blow downwind. When you order the bread pudding...expect a cube of bread."

  • "On Father’s Day (and we are told, every weekend), the parking lots were jammed. Prepare to walk a half mile if necessary. Very crowded boardwalk atmosphere at the venue. Once inside the restaurant, it was peaceful and a pleasant, if not memorable, experience. Probably won’t do this again."

  • "We went on a Sat. afternoon for lunch. It was our 1st visit, and WOW, we loved it! We were seated right away and by the window as I requested. Our waiter was very pleasant and efficient. We would go back in a heartbeat."

  • "My spouse and I enjoy going to this place. They also do a great job with holidays and can accommodate large crowds well."

  • "Having advance Open Table reservations made our welcome and seating very smooth. We were set right by a window seat to enjoy the beautiful serene view of the waterfront. Overhead music was subtle and noise was low key. The food was presented with artistry and it was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience."

  • "I have been here a couple of times and took my boyfriend here on Wednesday night for a nice dinner. We had a wonderful time and our dinner was delicious! Love the atmosphere and view. The staff is very friendly and helped me surprise my boyfriend with dessert. Must check it out if you haven't been! We will be back to check out their brunch!"

  • "A classic restaurant amongst those of us who have lived in the West LA county/South Bay area for many years, Ports O' Call is still one of the best around, despite the touristy attractions being a little past heir prime. Seafood is second to none (some right off the boat), a salad bar that's the the best in the harbor, terrific service and a night-time view that is breathtaking. Check it out!"

  • "We have gone to this restaurant several times a year, to celebrate birthdays, for about 20 years and have never had a problem. This was the first time we ever had problems getting set at a table where those of us with disabilities had the room to get up from it. We have sat at the same table for as long as I can remember, but the manager this time decided the table was too big for the 7 of us and moved us elsewhere. I understand this can happen, but imagine our surprise when we came around the corner and a group of 5 people were sitting there!"

  • "We were amazed at how well the restaurant accommodated the large Mothers Day Crowd. Everyone was seated rapidly. the service was very good and the food excellent. Loved it !!!"

  • "We had reservations for 1PM, but, because of heavy traffic, the first member in our party arrived 10 minutes late. The staff was very friendly, polite and accommodating. By the time we were seated, it was 1:20. They never made us feel as though we would loose our reservation. The waitstaff was polite, friendly and very efficient. The food was delicious and plentiful. Everyone had their fill. "

  • "We come here because my wife loves crab. Quality of the crab changed. Did not taste good at all. Overheard another table complaining about the quality. Could not eat more than a couple of pieces. The omelet cook was different and very sloppy/messy. Had food all over his cooking area. Was very stingy with the quantity of food he used. I had to ask a couple of times, if I could have a little more cheese and mushrooms. He was so rushed. The sushi was not good either. The rice was ice cold and very gummy. Like the sushi was pre-made and left in the refrigerator for a time. Plus there were a couple of larger parties that were overly noisy, uncomfortable... Otherwise the service was excellent, other foods were good as usual. Menudo was tasty."

  • "If yiu choose to go, which I suggest, make your reservations for as early as possible or arrive 30-45 mins early to secure parking. The food was good with a wide array to choose from. Be aware they do allow dogs in the outdoor dining area...we had a barker while there."

  • "The food was very good but some of the burners kept going out thus making some food cold."

  • "It's hard to write a review for an Easter brunch because it was crowded and noisy, but that's acceptable since it's a holiday. The only thing I can mention that was unpleasant was the fact that our table was outside( which was fine) but it was in the sun. We picked up our table and moved it to the shade which helped a lot!.we have gone there for at least 5 years in a row for Easter brunch so that says a lot!"

  • "I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. Service was well-timed and friendly. "

  • "The Ports O Call resturant is not a reliable foodie venue, but it does have very pleasant surprises. The fish is fresh, and prepared with appropriate simplicity, not overdone, and thus delicious. Steaks etc pass muster and enjoyable. Service is sincere, they do their best, but not highly trained. Still, the intentions are good and they do their best. Bottom line, the Port's O Call may not hit all the resturant etiquette points, but their effort makes up for it, usually. The venue is beautiful, harbor main channel view unparalleled, and we've gone many times, and will again. Also, they're used to serving groups, and you could do worse as a nice family dinner or lunch venue."

  • "This is my second time here and I really like the view of the harbor and the food. My champagne glass was never empty thanks to Faviola. After the great selection of food you can walk it off by visiting the shops. My friends and I have made a deal to go to brunch once an month. I will be bringing them here when its my turn to choose a spot in May."

  • "This is a nice spot for brunch and a good value. There is a nice variety of food to choose from with plenty of seafood options as well as things for kids, a carving station, omelet station, etc. everything we had tasted pretty good. also, I didn't know until we got there but brunch includes the harbor cruise ticket if you choose to partake. It was a bit chilly and we hadn't planned on it so maybe next time. Oh, the price also includes coffee, juice, and champagne. Not bad."

  • "We enjoyed ourselves at Ports O'Call on Feb. 3, 2014. I had requested a quiet out of the way table with a view of the Harbor as we were celebrating our 41st Wedding Anniversary. We were given a wonderful table with a view of the Harbor and our Waitress was superb, readily available, helpful yet unobtrusive. Our experience was simply wonderful. The food was delivered in a timely fashion and was very good. When we are in San Pedro again we will look forward to another visit to Ports O'call"
