  • "Portofino was excellent on all fronts. The hostess pushed back our reservation without complaint after we had to wait for a cab without any complaint. Our waiter was knowledgeable, but not pushy about wine and food selections. He was very gracious and accommodating and got us fed and off to a show on time. The restaurant was beautifully appointed, and I wish we had had time for a longer dinner. Chef Michael LaPlaca's dishes were rich and generous, without being overwhelming. All in all, an excellent dining experience."

  • "We use to go there when it was Oodna which was much better They gave us bread no butter or oil asked the waiter for some and he never brought it Finally got a bus boy to bring it I was celebrating my birthday and they did not acknowledge it no desert or anything I would never go there again The Italian restaurant at Ceasars Palace is so much better"

  • "Dined here on 6/29 with a party of six. Everyone agreed the food was fantastic but the service could have been better. When several people at the table wished to take their leftovers home, the waiter brought the containers to the table for them to box up the food themselves. It seemed odd given the high-end nature of the restaurant and we noticed other diners had their plates taken back to the kitchen, boxed up there and returned in a bag for easy carryout."

  • "One of the best meals I had in Vegas. Ambiance is great. Away from the crowded noisy casino. Osso bucco was phenomenal as were the meatball apps. Gravy is as close to true Italian as you can get. Service is top notch without being overbearing. Great wine list. I highly recommend this restaurant. Also - no riff raff punks in baseball caps or half naked teenaged girls to take away from the dining experience."

  • "My wife was upset with the waiter's demeanor when he learned we were using a myVegas reward. We also overheard him at an adjacent table, reacting the same way. We actually feel more of the blame for this situation, belongs to the restaurant's policy of under paying the servers. We the paying customers, should not be responsible for supplementing their income. We are eating out less and less because of this ridiculous practice of being guilted into tipping, just because restaurants under pay their employees. Food was great though."

  • "I chose Portofino because I thought an Italian restaurant would offer vegetarian options. However, the menu was very limited, there were no vegetarian options. I asked the waiter for a suggestion, he brought me a vegetable pasta dish, it was not good. The pasta was slightly warm and the vegetables were undercooked. My friends ordered lasagna and seafood alfredo, neither were impressive. Our waiter was not great. He corrected me when I pronounced one of the appetizers incorrectly. I asked for extra lemons with my iced tea and he did not bring them until close to the end of the meal. It took almost 20 minutes for my friends to get a scotch and a coke. A meal for three was well over $125, it was not worth it. I would not eat there again."

  • "Our dinner at Portofino was excellent. The service was superb but not smothering. They were there when needed but, otherwise left us alone. I started with the meatballs were as soft and moist as meatballs could be and the and the stuffed squash blossoms with goat cheese was a pleasant surprise. My wife had the Caesar Salad which was the closest thing to the original that we've had. I tried it too. I had the Veal Osso Bucco and she had the Burrata Agnolotti. Both were beyond belief. The veal was fall apart tender and the risotto had just the right amount of saffron without being overpowering. For my wife's dish, we didn't think that lobster could be prepared any better than this, tender and sweet. Will definitely go back again."

  • "We went to dinner at Portofino after watching the Boys 2 men concert. We had 9:15 reservations and were sat within 5 min. We got sat, or server greeted us, gave us menus and waters. We ordered drinks and dinner. Food came out super quick. We were in and out in 25 min. Fastest dinner ever! Food wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad."

  • "We swore to try new places every night in Vegas, but we loved this place so much we went back! This visit we had a chef's tasting menu with wine pairing organized by our new favorite manager Chris, and barely made it to the main course before we nearly exploded. We thought the dishes we had the first trip were amazing, and the tasting showed us we had much more to come back for on our next trip."

  • "We had a good meal here, although food was a little on the salty side for my taste. I rated this 5 star, though, because the waiter/bartender guy we had was the sweetest, warmest, nicest man. His name was Stephen and he was a part time guy that mostly worked the bar, but since we ate in the bar he was our waiter too. He took such good care of us, and was very welcoming. His recommendation of the Chicken Rollatini was spot-on, and helped us with a wine selection to go with it as well. The Veal Saltimbocca was overly salted, and came with a sage sauce, which was pretty but certainly made it less traditional. The potato side dish was amazing. Overall a good restaurant at the Mirage."

  • "Every item on the brief but comprehensive menu is tempting. I had the lobster agnolotti in a creamy corn sauce and my husband had red snapper slow roasted in a special bag with red sauce. The manager came over and made the perfect wine pairing suggestion of a Nero dAvola that complimented both our dishes. We are in Vegas, Food Heaven, and we can't wait to go back."

  • "We were seated near the kitchen so there were always many, many workers passing us throughout dinner which was very distracting... they were looking over our shoulders most of the time, at their tables, so I would take more notice than we did where your seated. Definately an expensive meal ... some portions of our meal were most delicious others just OK... the lobster raviolis were fantastic as was the caprese salad ... the caesar salad & the carbonara were fine but my husband says I make them better at home ... he was right. We enjoyed being there & each others company without kids & dogs so we were satisfied. I would go back only to get the Lobster raviolis ... very rich & delicious !!!"

  • "We had an absolutely lovely time at Portofino and we would recommend it highly for celebrating a special occasion. The food and atmosphere were great and the service was attentive without hovering. Specifically, we loved the snapper cooked in the bag and opened at your table, and the filet was wonderful. For the appetizer, be sure to ask for a small portion of the burrata angliotti - out of this world. They brought us a special tiramisu for our anniversary and it was the best we ever had."

I ordered the scallops fetuccini.........consisted of 5 large scallops on top of freshly prepared pasta with a tasty sauce....perfect combination of flavors! My husband was equally impressed. We chose this restaurant because it was close proximity to 2 shows we were seeing that evening.....Beatles Love and Terry Fator....but will make it a definite choice each time we are in Vegas. We fell in love with Love, have seen it 4 times now, but will now have an even more enjoyable eve when we have dinner at Portofino while at the Mirage!!"

  • "Went here pre-show for an elegant dinner with friends. The menu is limited and our vegetarian friends had few choices, but everything we ordered was exceptional. One member of our group exclaimed that it was "the best gnocchi, ever!" If you are budget conscious this is probably not the most frugal choice. We thought it was a great experience and would highly recommend it!"

  • "Portofino was fabulous! It was very quiet, beautifully decorated and housed a friendly and accommodating staff, as well as a menu that had something for everyone. The salmon was divine with a perfect crispness to the outside and a moist flakey center, and the Italian Mojito was deliciously dangerous. I wanted to just keep drinking them because they were so scrumptious! I would return just for more salmon and mojitos, but the menu had so many other delicious sounding options that I wanted to try!"

  • "We had not dined at Portofino before and we were looking for a restaurant at the Mirage to eat at before we saw the Cirque du Solei (sp?) show. So we figured Italian suited everyone's taste and is always good- and we were so right! Their wine list is incredible and service was amazing! All of us really enjoyed our meals (they got veal, I got the filet). My girlfriend also LOVED her dessert (hazelnut bar). We would definitely dine there again! PS Don't be fooled by the front entrance. We though at first the place was empty and got a little worried- until we realized that it was just the bar/cocktail area and that the actual dining area was passed the bar into the back!"

  • "Easily one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The Caprese salad appetizer and the crab cake appetizer are the best I have ever had. Additionally, the pasta, specifically the gnocchi, is "homemade" and has the most authentic and fresh flavor and texture. This was a great surprise before seeing Love!!"

  • "Nothing to recommend this (Italian) restaurant in a Vegas hotel (every hotel has at least one). Nice spot, very mediocre food; decent service. A funny story, however. Server asked if I'd like cracked pepper on my Caprese salad. I said "please." He turned the pepper shaker and my plate was soon covered with WHOLE peppercorns. He whisked the dish away and brought another."

  • "Our experience at Portofino was excellent starting with making reservations right down to paying the bill after the meal. Very nice decor and ambience. Our reservation was fairly early so we could meet a theatre showtime start, and the staff was very responsive to this, so they were able to expedite the service accordingly. Excellent quality food with subtle, balanced seasoning. Top-shelf service, food quality and overall experience."
