"The pasta with shrimp and clams was really delicious. Very nice experience for a casual quiet night out. Restaurant is small but cozy and i would definitely go back!"

"This cozy restaurant, located in the West Village, was a great find. Very good service and the prices were not outrageous. The squid ink tagliatelle was especially enjoyable, as was the fried calamari which was light and not oily. If I lived in the neighborhood, I would be here at least once/week."

"The ultimate neighborhood Italian restaurant. Everything is as authentic as it gets. If you have ANY memory at all of eating a genuine Italian meal in a real Italian home, whether or not it was your own, this great restaurant will evoke that memory and make new memories for you. Let's face it, there are a LOT of really fine Italian restaurants in NYC. More than most cities. So, this is hard-earned praise - Portobello TRULY stands out from the rest. I've never been to an "Olive Garden," but it seems to me that this is what "Olive Garden" is trying to emulate in a sort of mechanical, mediocre way. But this is the real goods. Don't miss a chance to have an affordable, authentic and outrageously DELICIOUS meal at this Greenwich Village gem."
