Maybe people shy away from this gem because it's in a hotel (the Hilton Portland Executive Tower) but that is their loss. We went on a Wednesday evening and ours was one of only three tables occupied. We found understated luxury in the dining room, great service from every member of their staff, and, most importantly, great food.
All four courses were delicious and the portions generous.
We know there are a lot of wonderful restaurant choices in Portland but this one needs to be higher on your priority list. Experienced servers bring uniformly good food in the bar, but it can be a bit on the pricey side. The tab for a club sandwich, an entree-sized salad, and 2 non-alcoholic drinks was over $30. But the sandwich was perfectly prepared, and the beet salad large enough for 2, so no real complaints. The Bologonese is so good I have it almost every time. Several of our group love fish so the trout was a happy choice. The cocktails were particularly good Friday evening.
