We spent our 10th Anniversary dinner here and were very pleased with our choice. The food was outstanding and our chef checked on us several times. My Husband had the filet mignon and I had the special which was prime rib. Our food was cooked to perfection. Very rich. I couldn't even come close to finishing my meal. They were so sweet. They planned on giving us a complimentary custom desert for our special occasion, but we couldn't eat another bite. Loved our experience here. In fact, we had the whole dining room to ourselves. The decor needs a serious update, but the food and service made about trip here worth it.

We celebrated my daughter's birthday here. It was Sunday evening and the restaurant was quiet. We had the "beast and brew" sampler. Delicious. My daughter had the tuna which she said was perfectly cooked. I had the Caesar salad with smoked salmon. It was very good with more salmon than I could eat. The service was personable , attentive and friendly.

We absolutely loved the food. Husband's steak cooked exactly how he asked. Everything came out hot and delicious. The live music was just our style, we even ended up buying a CD. Our waitress was kind and prompt, but not overbearing. Overall we loved our experience. One side note (not necessarily a draw back, just a heads up). We are from out of town and found the restaurant online. Because of the extravagant menu (which lived up to expectations) we were preparing ourselves for a "Sunday best" evening out. The dining area was clean and quaint...but quite informal for the menu. Both the waitress and live entertainment were in denim. This really didn't bother us at all, and we really enjoyed our evening. Just thought it important to note.

rolls were not good. Too hard. Salads were great. Filet mignon was excellent. Ceiling looked like it was about to fall off. Spider came off the wall and I had to kill it with a napkin. The singer was great. Hot springs down the hallway looked scary. Hotel needs a major renovation. Food was way too expensive. I wanted more duck and a lot less pasta

We were the first ones seated at this establishment and were a bit concerned... I looked at my Husband and said, This is the best they have in Lava. But to our surprise, the few tables quickly filled up and we were first served the most delicious warm rolls and flavored butter. Our meals arrived of steak and ahi tuna and we both were very pleased with the taste, so good! I highly recommend The Portneuf Grill... if you can find it! It is in the bottom of the Riverside Inn. Enjoy!

The service was slow, (I think there was one waiter for the whole place. There were only 3 couples at the time) but the food was wonderful! Don't expect it to be cheap but expect that it is very good. The chef came out to personally ask how our steaks were cooked and I appreciated that he seemed very interested in our experience.

This is a horrible restaurant. It is played up to be this romantic nice restaurant but it is an over priced Denny's. Service was really bad and food was over cooked and dry. Do not waste your money.

My husband and I went to dinner there and breakfast the next morning. We started with the crab cake for an appetizer, nice size, lots of crab and the sauce was to die for. My husband is vegetarian and had the veggie burger and I had the prime rib. Both were fantastic!! Breakfast the next morning was eggs benedict (mine traditional, hubby's mushroom). The Hollandaise sauce was homemade and not from a packet. It was awesome!! We definitely will be back.

Great food and delicious bread and basil butter. Definitely have to be for special occasions as its expensive. I just ordered strawberry salad and it was awesome, but we left and were still hungry. Husband had steak and friend had tuna and wished they came with a salad. Waitress very kind , helpful and efficient. Thanks
