My daughter treated me to brunch at Portland City Grill for my birthday. We had a wonderful window table that overlooked the river and much of southwest Portland. Brunch included prime rib and a rich selection of seafood. The made-to-order omelet was very tasty. Needless to say, we enjoyed the view and ate to our hearts' content. Not to be missed!

This place was very good, but it was also very expensive. All the food on the menu and in the buffet is included in the price of the breakfast, and non-alcoholic drinks are included. Great place for a special occasion.

I do not see the point in making a reservation. We had an 8:00 reservation but when we arrived we were told it would be a 35 - 45min wait.?.? This extra time had an effect on our other reservations that night. Seems like we could have done a walk-in and sat at the same time.

I brought my girlfriend here for a surprise date and she was blown away by the ambience, service, and view of PCG! It was such a great experience for the both of us. Although there was a minor hiccup with the flowers I had brought in earlier, the night ended well and the servers were more then accomodating for the both of us. Thanks for an amazing night!

The restaurant was great. Food was great. Scene was great. We enjoyed waiting n the bar until or table was ready and we were all delighted by the food. Service seemed a little overwhelmed, which wasn't much of an issues until we needed to pay the bill in a hurry to get to a show down the street. Overall great and we plan to come back.

Portland City Grill is definitely a GEM in the city. The food is always amazing and the view, if in a window seat is beautiful. This time, after having made reservations for a birthday, we were sat one table away from the kitchen. So noisy we requested being moved. Was then moved to the table directly across from the front guest desk (aisle right to bar). SO noisy and people kept standing beside and over us to look a view and waitress seemed to miss our table/couldn't be found. Very awkward. Not the most romantic of birthday celebrations, but we made the most of it and again, the food and view...AMAZING.

The main problem with Portland City Grill is the noise level. The food is excellent, but in an upscale restaurant when there are two of you at the table you should not have to shout at each other to be heard. Wde were surrounded by table of 6 to 8 men - impossible to hear.

My husband and I come to Portland City Grill often to celebrate and our 19th anniversary was no exception. We both ordered sashimi and salad wraps, we split a wedge salad and we each had a filet mignon. Everything was amazing! I have a gluten intolerance and their menu was so easy to navigate and our server was fantastic! My husband followed up with cookies and ice cream and he was very happy. Our free desert was GF and tasty as well. The only thing we could find lacking was the coffee. We admit to being coffee snobs so keep that in mind. Over all we had a magical evening with a amazing view and food. We will be back soon!

The setting is beautiful and being able to see the city from up high is really great. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The price is very high. This is not a restaurant to go to often because it is Very Very expensive for most people. I will only be able to go for special occasions and probably only once or twice a year. The noise level was very high and interfered with my dinner experience.

Portland City Grill is the place I love to take my out-of-town family members when they visit. They often aren't that into the more casual Portland-y "wait in line for 3 hours" brunch places, so PCG my go-to for a good, family brunch. The buffet is incredible--you can have pastries, potatoes, bacon, etc...AND there's a kitchen menu you can order from (fried chicken and waffles, benedicts, belgian waffles)...AND an ice cream bar! It's decently priced for the quality, spectacular view, accommodating large reservations, and all you can eat. They also validate parking for about 2.5 hours (I think). Be prepared to nap the rest of the day after you leave, you'll be SO full.

The views of Portland from this restaurant (on the 30th floor) are superb. The food is quite good and the service is even better-anticipating your needs. On the dressier side for Portland but standard dining attire (dresses or dress slacks/collared shirts.) anywhere else. Noticed that the bar seemed a bit more casual and was buzzing. This is not to be missed if you are visiting Portland. Appreciate that they validate parking if it's in the same bank building.

(This review is from Mike's wife) I had mentioned in our reservation request that my husband and I would be celebrating our 22nd anniversary. I'd also mentioned that we each have some food allergies/sensitivities. When we arrived at our table, the tablecloth was sprinkled with "Happy Anniversary!" confetti, and our waiter thoughtfully pointed out how the kitchen could accommodate our dietary needs. Great service, really good food, fantastic view (alpenglow on Mt. Hood as the sun set - beautiful).

This is a must go for people visiting Portland for the 1st time. The view of the city and of surrounding area is great, especially on a clear day. We were very lucky to have visited on a clear evening and had great views of the city as well as Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens. Service was good, very relaxing and not too pressuring. I did not feel like I was being rushed so that they could fill my table again. Food was delicious, huge portions, cooked well. Definitely recommend to Portland visitors, but also nice for a fun evening out.

If we had scored a window, it would have been the perfect meal. Seamless service, generous portions of great food. One very good vegetarian option i would recommend: the tofu and vegetable stir fry. Fresh rolls superb, although the peanut sauce was a tad on the sweet side for my taste. If you order the beet salad, ask for the dressing on the side.

This was our first time to the PCG and we had read beforehand about the stunning views, excellent service and good-to-great food, all of which turned out to be true. What we didn't know in advance was how talented the pianist in the bar would be. And the piano he played on had wonderful sound. Next time we may just eat and drink in the bar so that we can appreciate the piano-playing for a bit longer, while having just as great a view as in the (also great) dining area.

We had a 7:30 reservation, arrived at 7:20 and were seated immediately. Not a view table but we were able to see most of the view as we were adjacent to the window at a half booth. Wait staff courteous ,friendly and helpful. Good menu but a little limited as far as appetizers. The only complaint was the crab/prawn cocktail that we shared. Seafood tasted frozen and it had ordinary out of the bottle cocktail sauce on it. Our salad and soup respectively was very good (wedge salad and clam chowder )as were our entrees (filet and scallops). Dessert was yummy fresh berry cobbler and ice cream. My first visit to Portland and this restaurant ,both left a lovely impression.

I took a work friend here for a special birthday lunch. We were seated at the best table in the place and the staff had sprinkled festive confetti and left a sweet card. Our lunches were really fabulous. We both had a combo half-sandwich (warm crab and shrimp) and salad; they happily accommodated our special requests: no tomatoes on one, no bacon on the other. After, the server brought a tiny cake for the birthday girl. The service was friendly and good; the food was tasty. And you really can't beat the view. It was a memorable occasion and I'll definitely return!

While visiting Portland for our honeymoon we chose to make a reservation at Portland City Grill based on the reviews for their food and the view of the city. Our reservation was for 8:00 pm and our hostess indicated our table should be ready at that time. We enjoyed some drinks at the bar and the bartenders were quite helpful and friendly. While at the bar we witnessed one waitress pick up someone's salad with her bare hands and place it in a to go back and place it at the patrons table. At 8:30 we were still not seated at our table and the hostess stated our table would be ready soon. We eventually left the restaurant at 9:00 without ever being seated or updated on the status of our table. Overall disappointed and won't be returning
