A word from Porters on the Lane
Porters on the Lane features an American menu. Highlighting steaks and seafood. Served in casual atmosphere with a choice of dining areas & menu options for any palette. There are four dining areas to choose from as well as the bar - The main dining room is spacious with navy & white decor located
at the front of the restaurant with windows overlooking the porch & Bellport lane. Then we have the fireplace room which is located in the back of the restaurant, this quaint room has beautiful ivory tin walls & ceilings. A working stone fireplace from floor to ceiling which always makes this room popular in the winter or for private parties! We also have seating in the bar section at high top tables. Then the last option is the front porch which is open seasonally & weather permitting. This is a beautiful space for outdoor dining & certainly the most requested area when available.

Eaten there several times and have
never been disappointed with my dinner"

Great food, great service,
insanely awesome dessert menu to cap off a great meal!"

My wife and I went there for
lunch. The menu was limited, but what we had was very good. Back dining room has a nice fireplace and only 6 tables, making for a comfortable, warm ambiance. Will have to give it a try for dinner next time, and during warmer weather so we can eat outside."

The front is a vibrant bar scene.
The small back room is cozy with a roaring fire. Have it your way, but either way, the food and service cannot be faulted."

We eat here a lot. They never get
it wrong. Food always consistently very good."

Porters was cute with a warm cozy
atmosphere on a cold miserable night. They were very accommodating with my request to be seated near the fire. But literally wedged into a corner with half the table behind the fire and the other with a side glance of the fire, stuck staring into the corner and next to a drafty window. I started with the beat salad very tasty. Golden beats were a nice addition, but a bit hard. 2 rolls delivered with a delicious herbed butter. Service a little slow. Short ribs were very good. Perfect with the mashed potatoes and the cold night. My husband enjoyed the salmon over polenta. Would definitely return but try sitting in the main dining room. The bar area was very inviting."

Porters on the Lane is in my top 3
favorite restaurants on Long Island. We were just there on Valentines day with a few couples. We all ordered Fillet Mignon. As always cooked to perfection. I love, the gorganzola cream to put on top... I always order the sauted spinach. It's heavenly. We ordered the brussel sprouts and were even more delicious than the spinach. Another great dish is the short ribs. These to are cooked to perfection. If you enjoy a wedge salad, go for it. The blue cheese is so good. We also enjoy the shrimp cocktail . It always fresh and ice cold cooked perfect. With all the times I have ate here, we have never complained once about our meals. Go make a reservation and see for yourself.. You wont be sorry."

My wife and I ate at Porters for
valentines day. It's a nice little restaurant -maybe a little loud (there's a bar area that's partially open to the dining room), but we were definitely able to carry on a normal conversation. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was very good and a nice selection. My wife chose a filet off the menu that was not available, but there was a special that was a suitable alternative. The price was fair in my mind. My only criticism was the craft beer selection was wanting a bit, although they did had a few to pick from. Altogether it was a pleasurable experience, and I will definitely eat there in the future which I guess is the best indicator in a restaurant."

We went early since we had our
kids with us so that if the kids got unruly they wouldn't bother anyone else. We were the only ones eating dinner at the time which is great. Good food. Great service. We were unhappy to find out that the Lobster Mac n Cheese was taken off the menu. We were a huge fan of it. and everyone knows Porters for it. Shocked they took it off the menu. The server as great as she was didn't come over to us for the first 10 min. We wanted to order drinks and apps and also the kids meals (they get hungry quickly esp when they're in a restaurant and can smell whats going on lol). The Craft beer selection here is non-existent. This shocks me too. I went with a Guinness because every other choice didn't excite me."

Love this restaurant. Everyone who
greeted or served us were really pleasant. Food was delicious. Service was great. Really nice menu that pleases everyone from foodies to picky eaters. Would love to go back in warmer weather and take advantage of the patio. Very nice evening:)"

The night was special, to fete a
friend leaving for a new life in the south. The food and wine and spirits were great and the service stayed on topo f our party even though a busy Friday night. Those choosing the special loved their dishes and those picking from the menu were not disappointed. We have been there in all seasons inside and out, quiet or booming.... always great. Love the dinners but lunch and brunch have been great too. Try it, you will like it."

My husband and I recently went to
porters on the lane on a Friday night. We were early for our reservation so we sat at the bar and had a drink. It was half price so we paid three dollars for good quality beer, which is hard to find. Them we went to the table and were surprised to be in a room with a fire place. It was a nice relaxing atmosphere that separated itself from the bar scene. The Food was absolutely delicious. If you like truffles you must have the ravioli or get the truffle risotta as one of your sides. The short ribs are also really tasty. I will definitely go back. If you are near Bellport Village I definitely urge you to try this restaurant."
Dined on 1/10/2014
Best lunch spot ever!!! great
soupd and salads... best steak sandwich I have ever had. Looking forward to diiner"
Dined on 1/11/2014
I read reviews before making our
reservation. We were not disappointed in the least. The raw oysters were outstanding. All main course dishes were excellent; we ordered the roasted herb chicken, pan seared salmon and the scallops. The place was a little noisy (probably because it was a Thursday evening), however, it didn't detract from the terrific meal."

Scrumptous!! great place to have a
nice meal with delicious food and fun atmosphere.. great décor.. I love Bellport and this is my favorite place to eat!!"
Dined on 1/6/2014
With the Village of Bellport's
population somewhat smaller in the winter than the summer, it seems Porter's has followed that rule. Having been there in the summer, we recommended the place to friends recently, and four of us visited the restaurant. The menu seemed to have less variety than the summer, and the portions were smaller. The steak was a good size for a 75 year old grandmother on a diet. The mashed potatoes were good, but we were told that there isn't any gravy available. Someone ordered the roasted chicken and the white meat was dry. Be sure to finish dining by 9:30, as the music from the bar blasts into the dining area. Porter's has transitioned from a classy restaurant last summer to a neighborhood hangout in the winter."

My girlfriend and I came here for
a romantic dinner and were not disappointed. Food was amazing and sitting in the back by the fireplace was perfect. Service drinks and desert were wonderful. Can't wait to visit again."
Dined on 12/21/2013
Great food & service. However it
was really loud, so it was very difficult to carry on a conversation. I would return though, because the food was really great."
Dined on 12/7/2013
Porters on the Lane was delicious.
Food and service outstanding. My only issue was the tight seating. We had a 7:30 reservation, most tables were taken for 2 already. We were seated next to a large party and it was a tight fit. A table for 4 remained empty the entire time we ate, we could have been seated there. Overall though a pleasurable dining experience and I will definitely return, Now I also know the layout so I will be able to request where I want to be seated."

We enjoyed our little spot near
the fireplace, giving us an opportunity to talk and relax, while enjoying a great meal."
Dined on 12/1/2013
The service was excellent. The
staff was very attentive. I had New England Clam Chowder that I felt was ehh. There was no clam in it at all. It could have been called Cream of Clam soup. Others at the table were French onion soup (very good), and 1 of the specials (don't remember what but I was told it was good). For the entree's, they were good, not spectacular. For the price, I expected more."
Dined on 11/30/2013
Visited Porters for the first time
this past Saturday night with my wife. It was a great dining experience for us both. We each ordered specials - my wife had the striped bass and the rack of lamb for me. Each was delicious and prepared perfectly. The service was excellent - our waitress as well as the staff and the restaurant was very relaxing and welcoming. They also have some very, nice wines by the glass to choose from and provide a generous pour. I had read where some diners were complaining of the noise level, but this was not an issue despite dining close to a large table of 12. We will be back!!"

WOW!! great food great prices.. I
just had one of the best lunches I have ever had.. Fresh oysters and a Burger to die for a hand crafted huge burger made out of certified Angus Beef for twelve buck is a great deal. my boyfriend had an amazing chicken sandwich. sever Amy was very friendly and very efficient. just found my new favorite."
Dined on 12/1/2013
Good food, very expensive for
portion size, and food did not agree that night."
Dined on 11/23/2013
Wife and I come here often and
while I would love to give it 5 stars, it always just misses that by one thing or another. Don't get me wrong, for great food this place is among the best out there and is a local hidden gem. My wife ordered a soup and I ordered an appetizer (Irish Egg Rolls). Her soup arrived but my rolls did not arrive until 10-15 minutes after. They really should have brought them out at the same time as watching each other eat made for a somewhat of an awkward dining experience. I understand course serving but sometimes that doesn't apply. That being said, I would still strongly recommend this place without hesitation. Do yourself a favor and get the truffled mashed potatoes for $2 more. They're off the charts good!"
Dined on 11/16/2013
Husband orered the lobster risotto
and I had the seafood pot pie. The risotto was fabulous. It was perfectly done and superbly flavored. My seafood pot pie was, all around, fairly good. The crust was perfect. The filling was rich and creamy. The texture balance was perfect. My only issue was that the filling lacked flavor. I'm sure the intent was to let the natural flavors of the seafood come through but it was a tad too bland as such. I actually ended up putting a sprinkle of table salt on it (and I NEVER do that). Although my dish did not suit my palette, that will not detract me in the least from returning and trying other dishes. The service was impeccable, the ambience was extremely mature and pleasant. I will definitely return."

We went to Porters for both my
husband's and cousin's birthdays. There was eight of us. They had the table ready on time for our reservaion; the waitress was quick and efficient - we were never left waiting too long for service; the food was outrageous. Our only "discomfort" was with the noise level - it was so loud that you could not hear the person at the other end of the table. We had meatloaf wrapped in bacon, mussels for appetizer (it had kielbasi, white beans, and garlic - YUN), lobster risotto, seaford pot pie. The piece de resistence was the Pumpkin Ice Cream. A bit pricey so we will save Porters on the Lane for special occasions."

A last minute decision turned into
a great idea. Everything was fabulous from the food to the service."
Dined on 11/3/2013
Group of 8 of us went for a
friends birthday. Everything was perfect. I love this place and it is my go to for good food, drinks and memories. Cannot wait for another excuse to go!"
Dined on 10/25/2013
We've been to Porters 3x now and
they are great every time we go. The steaks were great, the drinks were good and overall a great time. Went with another couple this time and it's a great spot to double date. The only 2 bad things were they ran out of creme brulee (which for some reason every person in the group wanted lol) and their Sangria wasn't liked by the women who ordered it. Other than the Lobster Mac n Cheese was amazing as always and their Filet Mignon with Gorgonzola on top is outrageously good!"
