As of July 2008, even Bellport's most dedicated veterans might not recognize the former site of their famous Bellport Chowder House. After the 110 year old building recently changed owners, total and complete renovation began, and the results are outstanding. Gutted to bare beams and beautifully… reconstructed, Porters on the Lane has all the charm you'd expect from a contemporary restaurant in a historical setting. Even in the heart of Bellport Village, Porters stands out as being a premier restaurant. Porters on the Lane features primarily steaks and seafood, served in a quiet atmosphere with a light nautical touch. "The Restaurant did not advertise on there website that their brunch menu is beyond most restaurants time period for their brunch menu, did not like the menu and they refused to accomodate us with the Dinner Menu. Overpriced for the brunch menu I have had better at other restaurant. Will not recommend this place."

"This was my family's first time back at this restaurant since it was renovated and changed names. We were all very pleased with the service from beginning to end. The food was excellent and was presented very nicely. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and we will definitely return in the future."

"Had dinner here a bunch of times, and it is always a great place to be. The owner sat with is and went over there catering and we booked on the spot. Looking forward to having our partybat porters...my advice? Try it..."

"Awesome happy hour specials. My wife and I enjoyed some appetizers and drinks at the bar area then we sat in the fireplace room for a fantastic dinner, it was very busy so the noise was a bit much to handle, but definitely worth the visit."
