The poached eggs in tomato sauce were spectacular, and the heirloom tomato salad perfect!! We can't wait to go back!!! The chef should be commended for his superb skills!!!!"

  • "The waiting staff was really slow. There was no point in putting a note in the reservation because they didn't read it. I took my wife for our anniversary and not even a congrats thus, not reading the notes. The vibe was nice. The love music was the best part. The A/C was hardly ever on so we were hot. Instead of giving us an intimate table we had an awkward rounded booth. Took a long time for drinks but they were tasty when we got them. The food wasn't great and especially for the price. It was okay. I expected much more from them."

  • "Made reservations for 6:15 and was pleasantly surprised that there was a happy hour until 7 (on a weekend night!). Tons of yummy appetizers to choose from, I think we ordered almost all of them to split. Perfect for a bachelorette party! Great ambience, would definitely come back again. "

  • "Went to POP to celebrate birthdays. We really liked the ambience: antique chandeliers, old brick walls, but were less enamored of the industrial fan ceiling and empty picture frames. Yelp's menu was more extensive than the menu we saw, we had a bit of trouble finding something we wanted. That being said, we eventually decided on the charcuterie meat and cheese plate for two, and couldn't have been more pleased. The portions were excellent, and we got to choose three cheeses out of a selection of six. The plate came with homemade bread. We were disappointed that the souffle was banana, which I hate, so we had the apple crisp for dessert, which was excellent. Enjoyed old jazz, could have been a bit louder. Service was friendly and fabulous."

  • "We went for Pasadena Restaurant week. The Prix-fixe choices were ok in terms of variety. The tuna tartare was excellent (the best of the whole meal). The tortilla soup was good. The bruschetta was poor - dry bread with no seasoning, just a hint of parmesan, it was dry and drab. The sliders were good, we ate one set and took the other set home. The truffle add on was ok, but the blue cheese was overpowering, would have been better on the side (or not at all, and had 1000 dressing instead). the truffle mac & cheese was good. The desserts were ok, but the stout cake was over cooked and hard and the ice cream was served in a cup that made it messy to eat (taste was ok, just the plating could be better). The service was friendly and timely."

  • "POP is a very romantic and scenic place to have a nice dinner date with a significant other. Large groups are a no no for this place due to its small size and small tables. The ambiance is that of fine dining, and the dimly lit lights help you feel in touch with your date. The food was amazing, and not too overwhelmingly overpriced. The cheese plate and tuna/avocado appetizer are must tries. Wine list is not too large, but as their name goes, they are a champagne and dessert bar, so give the bubbly a go."

Surprisingly the desert wasn't as amazing as I thought it would be compared to the primary meal. I had the Irish Car Bomb which was just ok. My friend had the crepes and those were delicious. We got the bananas foster version."

If I were to return again, it definitely have to be during happy hour. It's also a great place for a romantic evening. There are intimate spots where you and your date can gaze into each other eyes, as if you were the only two people in the room. It was our first time there, and we had a pleasant experience."

Our party of four gals was seated at the coveted window table, with no prior request, and that was very nice. Our waiter, Robert, was engaging, charming, and attentive. He's a real asset to the restaurant. We ordered appetizers and all were very tasty, as was the delicious bubbly. Thanks, POP, I can't wait to return!"

  • "I like the decor, atmosphere and location. Beware the unique descriptions of the appetizers. Most we're disappointing. They usually are named something sounding familiar but have none of the appeal of the familiar dish. Example, the fondue is not fondue at all but some kind of pasty spread. The pork skins are not the crunchy goodness we know but pieces of barely cooked, fatty pork. Another thing, everything is served with extremely crispy, hard, dusty bread. They need to find other accompaniments to some of these appetizers. My suggestion, stick with what the restaurant name implies are its strengths. The crime brûlée is among the best you will taste and is one of my favorites. Same for the Seasonal pavlova."

  • "My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Pop. We decided to enjoy dessert along with some mimosas. We had made it just in time for a round of happy hour priced drinks. Our server was friendly and attentive. The ambiance was perfect for a romantic end to out night. The bacon maple crepe was to die for, something I'll dream about until we have it again. The only low point to the night is when our check arrived. The food and drinks are a bit overpriced for the proportion of food given. But you are paying for ambiance and unique food items of menu, as well as an extensive drink selection. We will be back for another special occasion dinner."
