Ponti Seafood GrillThe food and service wereThe food and service were excellent! Thank you for a very pleasant dining experience. We'll be back.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMPhenomenal Spring evening. The weather was perfect with plenty of water traffic to watch going by on the ship canal. 4 of us tasted and/or shared tiny Kumamoto oysters, calamari, Dungeness crab roll appetizers along with halibut, weathervane scallops, ahi tuna and Thai curry penne pasta entrees accompanied by a suitable bottle of wine as suggested by Darrell. A shared lemon tart dessert served as an excellent palate cleanser. Service was outstanding. A great Spring evening was spent on the patio at Ponti with good friends and phenomenal food, drink and service.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial OccaisonNever been to Ponti but had heard good things. Wanted to celebrate a graduation. Guests arrived at different times. The restaurant was very flexible. Service was great and we never felt rushed.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMSeattle dining at its best...shhh!Don't want my favorite spot to get unbearably overcrowded...but quite simply, it is the best! Best "sense of Seattle" outdoor dining, outstanding menu, excellent service, quiet rainy day spot, and small bar with ambiance. It has it all!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMPonti is a special treatGreat food, great service! The halibut was great, but the ahi tuna was AMAZING! Loved every bite and look forward to going back soon.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great service,Great food, great service, beautiful view. Had not been there for several years because of not so good experiences, but Groupon prompted me to give it another try. So glad I did. Very pleased with the simple grilled King salmon, good wine, JJ's service was perfection & Sam the bartender was super friendly ~ professional, friendly, fun! Will definitely go back.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMCame here with wife and twoCame here with wife and two days later with business partners and both times the food was excellent . Had the Cos one day and Halibut the next. Must say both we're cooked to perfection . Moist and tender like fish should be cooked. Service was very attentive and friendly but not to hovering.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely experience. Our waiter,Lovely experience. Our waiter, Lucas, was charming.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious with a view!We sat outside and enjoyed the view over the ship canal. It was beautiful and peaceful. There were others outside, but it was quiet enough to chat easily and we weren't disturbed by anyone. The food was delicious! We saw several dishes that we would like to try in the future, as we would definitely go back for dinner!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day DinnerPonti's never disappoints, we've been to dinner here over the past 8 years and it always stays consistent. Favorites include the Penne pasta with scallops, Short ribs, seafood stew and grilled salmon and halibut specials. For dessert we had the lemon cheesecake and the chocolate cake with was ample to share between two people. The staff is always friendly even if they are busy.
The view always vibrant with boats going up and down the canal. This is truly a neighborhood gem!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfectly Prepared MealI had the Prawn Parapadelle and my boyfriend had the Salmon. Both were prepared to perfection...but I will admit he picked the better option...the Salmon was divine!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service. SharedGreat food and service. Shared two seafood dishes, both were delicious.
Outdoor seating is great on a sunny afternoon.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect outdoor dinnerAlways a favorire for outdoor dining when the weather is right. The Thai Penne Pasta is to die for, great wines, and the ship canal and Fremont bridge right there.
Btu no knock on the indoor experience - just the right size, and feels more open and uncrowded than most restaurants. Can't go wrong on the menu5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThat is some fresh seafoodUsing only sustainable seafood, this dining establishment sets itself a high standard. Located in Lower Freemont, just across the Freemont Bridge and right next to the ship canal, this local favorite has both excellent seafood, but also a great and ever changing view of ships, pleasure craft and people passing by. The seafood is fresh and the presentation wonderful. A short, but diversified wine list rounds out the menu. Valet parking makes it ok as parking can be tricky.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMPonti's has good food, veryPonti's has good food, very consistent and price point is very good. The ambience of the outdoor deck is wonderful, love the location on the canal and the surrounding trees. The bar with the sliding wall is also lovely in warm weather. It's a cozy restaurant with friendly staff and service.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMship canal gemGreat outside dining perched over the canal. Can't get much better.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA gem of a placeWonderful food, service and location! There is nothing I can say negative about this place. Delicious salad and wine!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMI made a reservation for aI made a reservation for a birthday celebration for my cousin who was visiting from South Bend, Washington. We were given a beautiful table overlooking the Ship Canal....red rose petals on the table. The service and the food were superior. Thank you
for such a nice evening.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat MealInteresting menu well prepared. The wait staff was warm and attentive.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe recently enjoyed a mealWe recently enjoyed a meal on the deck at Ponti and it excellent. There were some new menu items that we tried both were winners. The coconut seafood stew with turmeric basmati rice was especially good. All the shellfish were perfectly cooked and the broth was sublime. The smoked paprika rubbed cod was a great dish as well. The cod was cooked through but not overcooked and the smoke paprika added a nice flavor to each bite. For the quality the price was quite good. Our entrees were in the 20-25 dollar range and portion size was plenty for us even without appetizers or dessert.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe seafood stew was delicious. The seafood stew was delicious. The beet salad was perfect. We enjoyed the meal and the view is special. They ran out of bread, we had 5:00 reservations, we would have liked the bread to mop up the last bit of the stew. We still enjoyed it and will go back.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMHalibut had just come intoHalibut had just come into season when we dined at Ponti so it was the perfect choice, Well prepared and presented over a bed of risotto with spring peas, it was a delicous dish. Service was a little haphazard but we were taken care of and would definetly go back. The restaurant was holding a wine tasting in the bar area so they shuttled us to a back room for "Happy Hour". The ambience could have been better and when they suggestd we just stay there for dinner, I declined asking for the table we had reserved in the main dining room. They obliged and we had a lovely view.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe arrived on a very busyWe arrived on a very busy Saturday evening but were seated right on time. Our waiter was very professional and friendly, and our table was by the window where the view is wonderful - even on a rainy night. The kitchen was very accommodating as we asked to have a few of the preparations varied from the menu, and the food was excellent. The halibut was fresh and prepared perfectly while the Thai Curry Penne was as delicious as all the reviews say. We will definitely plan on a return in the summer to enjoy the patio.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMRichard Malia's restaurantsRichard Malia's restaurants have always been excellent. This is no exception.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm extremely particular aboutI'm extremely particular about food so I cook at home due to disappointment with most restaurant experiences but I have to say that this was one of the best meals out that I've had in a long time. The salmon was cooked to perfection. Very glad that I tried Ponti and will be returning.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMPonti's has a fantastic viewPonti's has a fantastic view and, when the weather cooperates, has romantic outdoor patio seating. We requested a window seat, but anywhere you sit has a great view of the ship canal. Food was well prepared, but simple. The black cod was perfect, rich and caramely skin on perfectly buttery fish. I wasn't too wowed by any of the other dishes, though. Suitable wine list, strong martinis. Bartender was slow and the wait staff was a tad forgetful by the end of the meal, but both were extremely pleasant and accommodating. It felt like an Anthony's Homeport with smaller portions but a better view.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMHave been using Ponti's forHave been using Ponti's for casual dinners, group dinners and special events like birthdays (20 and more guests)since they opened. Have never been less than perfectly satisfied with food and service.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friends and I were happyMy friends and I were happy that the entire menu was available for restaurant week. We enjoyed everything we ordered, the halibut was especially great. The service was just right for a group of 4 who hadn't seen each other in a long time rarely stopped talking long enough for the waiter to get a word in. I have an extensive wine cellar so I bring wine to most of my dinners. I was a disappointed that the corkage fee was $25 per bottle and wasn't even reduced for the second bottle. They did take good care of my wine, decanting the cabernet, greatly appreciated. We closed the place down and never felt rushed to leave. Wonderful evening, thank you, Ponti and JJ.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been dining at Ponti'sWe have been dining at Ponti's since 1998 and have always found the food and service to be outstanding. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Seattle not only because of the food and service but also because, as hearing impaired, it is one of the few places that we have found where the background noise level is sufficiently low to allow us to have a conversation.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, esp. the halibut.Great food, esp. the halibut. The wine list is excellent and the pour (for a single glass) was more than fair. Our server Lucas was fabulous: very knowledgeable and able to deal well with some demanding customers.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI hadn't been to Ponti's inI hadn't been to Ponti's in years. Yummy4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual, our experience atAs usual, our experience at Ponti's was superb. For a special occasion, such as our last visit for a daugther's birthday and hosting out of town guests, we often choose Ponti's. Service, food (halibut terrific),and general ambiance very enjoyable and relaxing!!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a very nice dinner. We had a very nice dinner. We celebrated my husband's birthday and made a very early dinner reservation, given that we brought our children, ages 5 and 7. We sat by the window, and the kids were entertained by boats and ducks during the course of our 2 hour dinner, which helped them to stay in their seats and remain well behaved. It was even a nice view on a rainy day. They have a children's menu as well, but I think my kids enjoyed the ice cream in a cookie basket more than anything. We had the cheese plate and my husband ordered spring rolls, which he said were great. He also had the king crab, which he loved. I had the salmon. We had very nice service in a very nice setting and were very pleased with our expeirence.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGo for romance, stay for calamariGreat experience! Romantic but not icky, cozy but not stifling, classy without being pretentious. Absolutely try the grilled calamari appetizer. Life changing!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal. Only two drawbacks.Great meal. Only two drawbacks. No Prosecco by the glass which they had the last time we were there. And, I had written on the Open Table reservation that we were celebrating my wife's 65th birthday so thought they'd put a candle on our dessert or make mention of it in some way.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy Birthday SandyWe were seated in the main dinning room first, which was quite loud and noisy..when we asked to be moved to the upper dining room, our request was met with acceptance and professionlism, which we appreciated. This was a much better location for our birthday celebration and dining experience. Much quieter and intimate. Discovered a new wine jem and will be looking to purchase. The halibut preperation I had was yummy!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI purchased this on GrouponI purchased this on Groupon as a last minute thing for a birthday and wow was that a good idea! They gave us a fabulous table, acknowledged the birthday several times including with a card on our table when we sat down, and gave us great service. We will certainly be back. My boyfriend loved his steak and I ordered the thai seafood dish which I liked.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat as always. Service isGreat as always. Service is a little lack luster but the food totally makes up for it.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI had a wonderful time atI had a wonderful time at Ponti. The food was fantastic. The staff was fantastic. The overall experience was fantastic. Definitely a nice place to take a date if you're trying to impress them or for a special occasion. I got the special which was halibut with a jalapeno sauce which I was supposed to share with my date. He unfortunately only got a small taste because I wanted it all to myself. My date had the king salmon, which was also very tasty. I will definitely be back to Ponti especially once it gets warm and I can sit outside.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Easter brunch was especiallyThe Easter brunch was especially good this year. The Alaskan King salmon was first rate and done to perfection. Service was attentive and efficent. We had a great time.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food. We were allExcellent food.
