Diner Reviews
  • "Fantastic food and customer service--the view from the patio was also gorgeous and worth the chilly night air!"

  • "It was a lovely evening, with excellent food, and excellent service. I'd return anytime."

  • "The Seafood Stew was a must have and a nice sized portion. The mushroom risotto could use a bit of salt."

  • "One of the few places where you can feel your money was spent on a meal that you truly enjoyed. It is such bummer when you spend money on a meal and all it does is just fill your gut. Ponti's food and presentation is excellent. My only complaint is that I wish they were located on the eastside so I can go more often."

  • "Great place to reward yourself and friends with delicious selections and good service"

  • "The CHef can cook great cod and black cod! It was our son's 25th birthday and this was where he wanted to go and the restaurant made it very special."

  • "This is the second time I have dined here. There sea food selection is outstanding and reasonably priced. My only complaint was the time it took to receive additional drinks and dessert. Waitress got a little chatty with some tables and forget about orders she had up so we asked another server to grab the drinks we ordered that had been sitting at the bar for 10 minutes. They were quite busy but she just seemed unorganized. Desserts and salads are also outstanding. They do have a small deck that mainly seats parties of 2."

  • "The service was top notch and the food was absolutely delicious - from the appetizers through to the desserts."

  • "I was impressed by the creative menu. I would have ordered anything from it. Our servers were upbeat and attentive, got erything right. Note that the fish preparation is on the medium rare side. If you want it cooked through and through, tell your server. You can also call ahead with any special needs. Ambience was very pleasant, not crowded. In warmer weather there is outdoor deck seating. My entire meal was delicious and enjoyable. Parking is free on the street or very cheap per the valet."

  • "Lovely servers, very attentive. Amazing fish...so well seasoned and prepared. Romantic ambience with a beautiful evening few of the Fremont bridge area. Perfect for a romantic date. Very warm and welcoming."

  • "This place is tucked away somewhere. The sign in the middle of the road doesn't do it justice and its also behind a funeral home. However, once you step in and taste their food (seafood) I must say it was great and flavorful. We had a great time and the ambience was nice. Check them out!!! Highly recommended."

  • "We love this restaurant. We were in a smaller room than the main dining room and it was lovely. Great view. I had the halibut and my husband had the black cod. Both were excellent."

  • "This was our 2nd time here and it was notably better than the 1st! The service was awesome and the food was great, they had a lot of great fish "in season" so there were some very tasty options. I highly recommend this place!"

  • "I really wasn't impressed with the meal. My girlfriend had the king salmon it was dry came with two asparagus spears and a little couscous. I had the halibit the fish was fine came with a little rice and some sauteed spinac at $33 and $32. not a very good value . If you want a great dinner at reasonable price it's hard to beat Antony's Home port in Des Moines get the sunset dinner."

  • "My best friend and her daughter visited Seattle for a week. Ponti Seafood Grill was one of the memorable places we had the pleasure of dining at. Great food and service with a wonderful view. It reminded me of a restaurant I visited in Italy. I saw a bar and would be interested in coming back for their happy hour."

  • "Frankly, I expected more from the food quality. My albacore was a bit tough and his scallops were not tender. The best part of my meal was the spinach. However, the service was excellent. It is a beautiful restaurant. We would go back but I would order something dfifferent."

  • "Our server was very professional. We were provided with everything at the right time and our sever never cut into our conversation. Music level was good, nor too loud and lighting was intimate and warm. Food was alright but overall because of the factors above, I will definitely visit again!"

  • "Many years ago, Ponti was one of our favorite restaurants. As our lives became busier, it fell out of the "rotation" because it was not near where we lived. Recently we needed a place to take friends from out of town that could showcase regional cuisine and was near where they were staying. We were certainly glad we went back to Ponti. The food preparation was outstanding as was the service. The biggest plus for us was that we were able to carry on a conversation, hear each other (even at a larger table) and were left to chat long after the main course was served. It was a delightful evening and we will return much sooner now that we have been reminded why we liked Ponti in the first place."

  • "We had the most lovely evening at Ponti on Saturday! We have been there many times, and always find it satisfying. Saturday evening was even more special. The food was excellent. There was a wonderful seasonal halibut special that was prepared so interestingly with greens, asparagus and a lovely light sauce, delicious scallops that were also very interestingly prepared and perfect salads, tasty desserts and great espresso! Service was GREAT; we sat in a lovely room with a beautiful view, flowers, white table-cloths, and could actually carry on a conversation with 4. Delightful!"

  • "And the experience was wonderful from the waitstaff to the meal selection. I will be back again soon to enjoy all that Ponti Seafood Grill has to offer."

  • "Twice we've been to Ponti's recently and received fish that was not fully cooked: Once salmon, once cod. We used to really like Ponti's. But having this happen twice has changed our view."

  • "We celebrated my husband # birthday at Ponti restaurant Saturday night ,and it was awesome! It's not like a typical restaurant that you see around , it has character, very warm atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food . Wine selection awesome! If you haven't been there, you should definitely try it ,you wont be disappointed ."

  • "Very fresh seafood. I enjoy relaxed service but our server was extremely slow"

  • "We enjoyed our food and the service was exceptionally good. The food was a very good value for the high quality. In part we chose Ponti's over another water side restaurant favorite because the price per entrée was on average $5 or so less and as a result we also ordered dessert. The selection of items on the menu was very good. We will likely return to try out other items. It is always great watching the boat traffic near the Fremont bridge."

  • "As Queen Anne residents who like to frequent local restaurants we were REALLY hoping that Ponti Seafood could become one of our regular spots. This was our first visit. Alas, we were disappointed. The service, ambience and view were all good. The food was average, all a bit bland and tired. It certainly wasn't good enough that we would return or recommend Ponti to others. We really wish we could."

  • "This is a really great place right on the Ship Canal. Besides having a great view of all the boats coming and going to and from the locks, it has a marvelous menu and a great wine list. Can't be beat for that special occasion."

  • "I have been to Ponti a handful of times and have always had a good meal. Unfortunately I didn't get to this review closer to the time of my visit so it isn't fresh in my mind. I remember having the lamb and I really enjoyed the flavor. The only thing I don't really like is having the bone but that is the way that it is usually served. I did appreciate that after our dinner they put on the UW vs UCLA soccer game in the bar for us and we watched a good portion of the second half and both overtimes."

  • "I think it's the best seafood restaurant in the Seattle area. They consistently have good options and the food is well-prepared and creative. They also have the best option for Dine Around Seattle and Seattle Restaurant week. Most other restaurant participants have a very limited menu choice. At Ponti, you can choose any regular menu item with only a few more expensive items having an upcharge."

  • "The food was excellent and I really appreciated that the dine around seattle menu was the entire menu!"

  • "I have lived on Capitol Hill since 92, have eaten at many places but somehow never heard of Ponti. That is sad because it is a great resturant and I have been missing out. The salmon entre was as good as it gets and the dessert just right. My wife, friends and I will be returning. Thank you for a wonderful evening. Rick"

  • "The service is always great! Friendly and helpful without being obsequious or overly chummy. The food is excellent, they never rush you and they treat you well even if you are ordering "light" or sharing. They have some terrific appetizers and I love their all wild caught fish. It's a "go to" place for me."

  • "We took advantage of the "Dine Around Seattle" event at Ponti's -- they put their entire menu on the program (a few dishes do have an up-charge, but worth it). It was busy for a Sunday night, but the service was excellent and the food even better. What a great way to experperience one of the area's finer restaurants. Looking forward to going back when we can sit on the deck, overlooking the Cut."

  • "Consistently excellent food and high quality seafood."

  • "I have been to Ponti's a number of times and have always enjoyed the entire experience. This time, the waiter was a little annoying asking us too often, ' how is everything'? I was also surprised to be charged for the bread he offered us. It was Dine Around Seattle month with a three course meal for $30 and they let you choose off the entire menu. This is good, but they add $10 to some of their entrees and we noticed their portion sizes for appetizer and main courses to be much smaller."

  • "... for a special occasion celebration. The service, food, and ambience is always top notch. Great in the summer with outdoor dinging available. This is my 13 year of dining here. I would recommend it highly."
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "The view was beautiful, the customer service was excellent, as was the food. For a "pricier" restaurant, the prices are reasonable. Would definitely recommend as a special occasion or nice Saturday night evening date."

  • "You never need to doubt incredible food and service! Consistent Treat!"
    Dined on 2/26/2014
  • "This was our first visit to Ponti, and we were delighted with our choice. The seafood was cooked perfectly--mussels were plump and tender, salmon and cod were moist and flavorful--and the presentation was simple, but elegant. The room had warm, cozy chatter, and it was still possible to hear your own dinner guests. Our server's assistant was speedy and thoughtful, but the server was a bit disengaged. We would return to explore other parts of the menu and to enjoy the view of the lake in warmer weather."
