Pond House Cafealwayshad another wonderful meal -- outdoors and lovely ---- the crab cake, mussels, pork were all winners ---- needless to say, the desserts were a treat ----- there is always room for rhubard ( it,s fruitish , so it must be healthy and good for you )
looking forward to visiting again6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and beautiful gardensFood is unique and fun as well as delicious. Prices seem average for quality food. Outdoor seating on a small pond is available. Wonderful gardens surround the building and a short walk away there are magnificent rose gardens.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place! The food is always delicious & fairly priced. When the weather is good there's no better place to dine than the patio. I recommend the Pond House scramble and the Apple & brie omelet.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Rose GArdens and Dinnerthis is a lovely place for a mid-summer's night. You can tour the Rose Gardens at Elizabeth Park then have dinner at the Pond House. Their Pear Salad was excellent as were our Entrees of Salmon and Grilled Prime Rib. We did the BYOB . they were very attentive explaining all entrees, poured our wine and put the white in its own cooler. We were seated out on their porch to enjoy the pond view and flowers .We brought our friend from out of town who thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening. It was simply delightful and a gem.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMNice, relaxing, romanticDefinitely worth a trip! Go see the roses in Elizabeth Park and follow it up with a trip to this restaurant. The menu is limited but tasty.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FindWe went there after seeing the restaurant for the first time on Open Table to celebrate my wife's new job. The service was great. The food and wine recommendation was very good. We had the Crab Cob Salad and the Duck and Scallops for our main course; wonderful.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMStaffFood was excellent, however wait staff seemed to be "going through the motions".6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch on a rainy dayFood, service, ambience excellent. Wine list scant. Only 4 choices for white. Expand wine list.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful neighborhood spotA wonderful neighborhood spot set in a beautiful park. Been here several times, the food is always outstanding and the service friendly. Also wonderful outside seating when the weather permits!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMRestful Sunday BrunchThe hostess was friendly and accommodating, ensuring we had the right table. I observed the other staff also helping people shift tables outside if the guest decided the sun was too bright or some other thing. You have to appreciate a staff that can be cheerfully accommodating. The food was nicely presented. I had the goat cheese and chive quiche - delish. After brunch we enjoyed the rose garden.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMVery colorful brunch location!Lovely brunch followed by a stroll through the gardens!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFood with a ViewI keep returning to The Pond House Cafe and am never disappointed. My partner and I shared the salmon burger and corned beef reuben. Both were scrumptious and more than filling. The outside seating area overlooks the romantic pond. If you want great food in a great setting, then this is the right place.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGood foodExcellent food and service. I went with 1 other person, and some of the tables for 2 are too close together. Besides being a little crammed in, it was a good overall experience.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat location and view - littlgRETFirst time at The Pond House.
Loved the location (within park) and view. If weather had been better would have loved to dine outside, which was avaialable.
Only downside was that food when served was lukewarm, not hot, which when you are having an egg dish can be an issue.
Presentation was great and my lukewarm brunch would not preclude me from returning another day.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMNot just for lunch and dinnerWe recently discovered that the Pondhouse does breakfast on Sunday, our traditional morning out. Their menu includes a variety of gluten-free dishes, which is perfect for my wife. The food was very good, as was the service. The ambience is a bit toward the modern, which may not be for everyone, but I enjoyed it. We had gone for lunch and dinner previously, and found the food good at theses times as well. Note that it's busy enough that reservations are advised. That in itself says something.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Specials SelectionI was satisfied with everything but the smell when I walked in was almost like a litter box. I have heard nothing but great things about the Pond House so I am assuming that this was a one time flub. Maybe some kind of accident occurred or new carpet was placed. Everything else was amazing. We sat outside and the specials selection was incredible and eclectic. I would come back and hopefully minus the smell.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMmy favoritethis place has the best food around! every visit we are amazed at the quality and taste of each dish.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMPond House Tasty TuesdayThe Pond House never disappoints. Their Tasty Tuesday specials are a great deal. I have dined there several times and have always had a great meal accompanied by attentive, friendly service.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMostly goodThe food was good except for an untoastedvEnglish Muffin. Our waitress was skittle too spacey .5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a leisurely lunch!Visited with my family for a pre-Mother's Day celebration at Pond House this weekend and had a good experience overall.
The menu is super diverse, lots of colorful Asian and Southwestern-inspired dishes so everyone was able to find something they liked. Terrific ambiance and the patio is stunning on a sunny day.
Our servers were friendly but a little bit more lax than we would've liked. We had to request straws, water and refills on drinks several times, and it took a while for us to receive both our appetizers and our entrees.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful, as always.we always enjoy the PH, especially being able to bring wine for a $5 corkage. Food is very good as well and a walk in the park before or after is fun.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Service, OK FoodThis was our second visit to the Pond House Cafe. Once again, the service was excellent. The food, though, was not as good as our first visit. One person in our party ordered the pork. The meat was cooked properly (not overdone), but there was so much demi glace, it was overpowering. The Brussels sprouts were also underdone and hard. I had the steak, which was OK, but I wouldn't order it again. I still love PHC and will go back -- probably to try brunch next time.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food in excellentVery good food in excellent setting in quiet park by the pond. Excellent service and reasonable prices.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMI always like the Pond House,I always like the Pond House, but this time the service was not great. They forgot to add an item to my lunch. After several attempts to get the servers attention without success, I got up and told someone about the missing item. It was added promptly. It was avocados that was meant to be an addition to my salad.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second visit. This was our second visit. Even tho' the diningroom was busy both time, it wasn't really noisy. Our waitress was delightful. She was enthusiastic about the food and knew what she was serving. The food is delicious. The presentation is very pretty. There is a good variety of foods to choose from and they are just a bit out of the ordinary.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual, my visit to theAs usual, my visit to the Pond House was delightful. My sister and I shared the pear salad and my favorite - the turkey sandwich - and were pleased with each. The service was great as was the environment. My sister is a gourmet cook and she was impressed! Loved the ipad menus and the Jackie O print which added to the total experience. The Pond House continues to be my favorite spot for dining with friends and family.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGood menu. Our dinner wasGood menu. Our dinner was very good and served promptly. The portion sizes were not huge but appropriate for dinner. The quality and presentation were excellent.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved this restaurant theLoved this restaurant the only thing that would make it better would be summer and the rose garden be in bloom.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly RecommendHad a great time. Love our meals everytime3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food. goodI never write these reviews but The Pound House has fed my family for 8 years and for greater than three quarters the Sundays each year. We moved here from Manhattan and our family longed for our favorite brunch haunts. Consistently high quality, well prepared and presented food. New and innovative menu additions and old favorites adorn their android tablet menus. Service is responsive and management (Kim) engaged, friendly and very present. A pleasure to dine al fresco overlooking pond or inside the contemporary restaurant. The Pond House receives my highest recommendation.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe staff was a little....gruff?The staff was a little....gruff? Friendly but not TOO friendly. Kind of awkward. But other than that everything was beautiful - I'd definitely go back. The grounds are lovely and I bet in the Spring/Summer they're simply gorgeous.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat I didn't sayEverything was delicious except the dry pheasant. The service was excellent--all the other orders were perfect--duck, seafood stew, appetizers and salads. I was so excited to see pheasant on the menu that when I tasted it and realized how dry it was, I didn't want to admit to myself how disappointing the entree was! So I said nothing!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
