A word from Pomodoros Greek & Italian Cafe-East
Pomodoros offers an authentic Mediterranean experience in the heart of Western North Carolina. Drawing our inspiration from the countries of Greece and Italy, we tempt the palate with three separate menus (Lunch, Dinner and Sunday Brunch) of diverse and innovative dishes using the freshest and finest ingredients. Pomodoros is a full service restaurant that provides an extensive wine list, a full bar, catering, and friendly service. Our three distinct menus reflect our commitment to providing only the finest fresh ingredients. Our cuisine pairs regional traditions of Greece and Italy with the diverse culinary talents of our chefs. "The basis of each dish is always in the tradition of the region, but the ingredients guide the way to new delights as well as old favorites." Pomodoros uses only the finest oils that have zero Trans-Fats and are not partially hydrogenated.Continued

  • "The waiter was kind of rude although his voice is so booming, I may have misread his intentions. Also, it was so loud in the restaurant I couldn't hear the person across the table from me. It was certainly not an intimate evening as I would have liked!"

  • "We thought the Tuesday deal was over a few weeks back, took advantage then and again last night. We live in the neighborhood and it's our favorite place ESPECIALLY at $10. Real deal!!!"

  • "We've been to Pomodoro's more than a dozen times and have always enjoyed it. The food and the service are outstanding!"

  • "My husband and I were very pleasantly reminded of how good this restaurant is -- went there for his birthday using the discount birthday card we received in the mail. It was worth full price, much less getting $10 off!"

  • "The title says it all. The food is fresh....they seem to take an extra effort to present the entre with flare so that one cannot wait to take that first bite! The waitresses and waiters are very friendly as well as to cater to extra requests that we might have."

  • "We were just in town for a couple of days and were looking for something fairly quick and easy, and close to our hotel on Tunnel Road. The food was good, freshly prepared and served by a friendly and attentive waiter. We would have no reluctance to return -- also decent value."

  • "Pomodoros is a wonderful restaurant with superb food and always great waitstaff. The menu items are excellent, and the chef is always doing some excellent specials. The presentation of the food makes it even better than it would otherwise be."

  • "We were visiting from Atlanta. During Christmas, we came to Asheville and ate at this restaurant. We were so impressed then, that went back on Feb-22 on another Asheville trip. The quality of food is outstanding."

  • "This is a great neighborhood restaurant with a quiet atmosphere. It is a great place to meet friends. It has a diverse menu and great specials! We have recently moved and still find ourselves going back to this location, even though we are closer to the south location."

  • "The dining choices in East Asheville are quite limited, and there is a ready-made niche for this location. I am hopeful the new owner will make a few minor changes that will encourage me to up my ratings."

  • "The food tasted great. Portion size overall was okay. My side of asparagus was 3-4 pieces. Kind of disappointing but the main course, veal piccata was just right. My husband ordered a seafood dish mixed with mussels, shrimp and scallops. The quantity of scallops and shrimp could have been increased. Heavy on the mussels. Pasta and sauce tasted great. I would visit again when in Asheville."

  • "We often have Sunday Brunch here. but decided to try the $10. specials. Very good, just the right amount of food for us, making a reservation was easy, we were seated instantly. Very good experience"

  • "My friends and I like to go here as a group, because they easily accommodate as many as 20 of us on occasion. They had a special where certain dinners were $10 on Tuesday. 6 of us fit into a booth comfortably. The basket of freshly made bread is always fluffy, and makes a perfect appetizer when dipped in their fresh olive oil with herbs. My "Chicken Nostimon" was outstanding! Spinach was fresh, tender and just barely cooked, as it should be. Chicken was flavorful and tender. My husband loved the Pork Melo with chutney on top. One friend raved about her tomato basil soup with greek salad. Our group had the same waiter twice this month, and he was a delightful and attentive young man, who gladly handled our various requests."

  • "Not only is Pomodoro's the finest dining in east Asheville, it's near the top for all of Asheville. The menu, which has been tremendously reduced in the past several months, can still be covered by an excellent chef. The Chef will prepare about anything that was on the old menu if you ask for it. Pomodoro's is a very accommodating restaurant. When we went on Monday the noise level was very good. However, we've gone on many occasions when the noise from crying and screaming kids has been overwhelming to the point of ruining a great and well-prepared meal. I don't know if the proprietor just doesn't care, or if he's willing to put up; with this. Noise is the only complaint we've ever had. There's sure never a complaint about the food."

  • "My daughter made this reservation with my phone as we were driving to A-ville, and I was initially disappointed that it was not downtown but in a strip mall type building with a mom n pop diner type sign. Inside was totally different. Low lights and updated décor. Food was excellent including the special fresh mozzarella app. The waiter was 5 star quality. If I lived in the area I would want to frequent the bar, which was in a horseshoe shape. You could see it having the kind of upscale but friendly bar vibe, but we were there early on a Sunday evening in January and it was empty. Note - this is not the Pomodoro chain."

  • "When my daughter and her hubby and my two young grandchildren were here from Ft. Lauderdale for the holidays they wanted to go out for New Years Eve. My daughter went on Yelp and looked at all the wonderful places Asheville has to offer, but my suggestion was Pomodoro's. It won and we had a wonderful dinner. Great Mama Mia pizza for the kids, white sea bass for my son-in-law, an eggplant dish for my daughter , and I had the BEST salmon. The appetizers were wonderful and our wine was delicious as well. My son-in-law had a huge beer selection to choose from. Our waitress was attentive, cheerful, and willing to accommodate us. Downtown restaurants always get the attention, but Pomodoro's is definitely a neighborhood gem."

  • "The dining experience at Pomodoros was, as almost always is the case, was great. The food is so good, the waitstaff is so attentive, and the presentation of the dishes is always superb. This is a great place to visit where you'll think your eating with your family. A wonderful dining experience."

  • "Pasta Athena was very good, large portion. Melitzanes papoutsakis (eggplant) was delicious and creative. Kids menu pastas, especially alfredo, were very good."

  • "Excellent food. The salad dressings are homemade (not store-bought). My wife said that was the best Caesar salad she ever had. The entrees were excellent as well."

  • "The best Italian food in Asheville. The best Sunday Brunch that we have found in Asheville. The lasagna and the bolenesse is awesome. Sometimes the music is a bit intrusive when most people want to have conversation while they are dining."

  • "Very enjoyable meal. My wife had the Pasta Athena and I had the Capesante Gorgonzola. The seafood and pasta in my wife's dish were prepared perfectly, but the lemon and wine sauce really didn't distinguish itself so we spent some time trying to "doctor" it up (added red pepper flakes, pesto, and a small amount of olive oil). The scallops in my dish were seared perfectly and the pasta and sauce were very good (can't wait to order this again). We were seated promptly and warmly by the hostess and our server was excellent. The main entrees came out right after we had finished our Greek salads (also very good) so the overall service was perfect. We'll be back."

  • "We are visiting the area, saw a sign so decided to try this restaurant. Made reservations for a Sunday night but they were not needed as the place was barely half full, however it was a cold, rainy night. Our waiter was very attentive, the female manager was delightful and spent time talking to us. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. The food was delicious. I had veal piccata and my husband had a Greek eggplant dish that he thoroughly enjoyed. If we lived here, we would go back but I would recommend it to anyone in the area. Had a nice dining experience."

  • "We had 7 in our group and made the reservation through open table just an hour before arrival and the table was set and ready for us. The server was personable and pleasant. Food was excellent all around - appetizers to entrees (polenta fries especially). We did not have room for dessert, unfortunately!"

  • "From the warm, crusty Italian bread with herbed olive oil for dipping to the inspired and well priced wine list to the creative appetizers to the creative, inspired entrees, Polmodoro's always pleases. Our most recent visit featured an intensely flavorful short rib digs with wine ragout on papperodella and a breaded eggplant, sundries tomato, artichoke, kalamta olive and tomato sauce dish topped with crispy fried leeks dish called melitzanes. If it sounds good, it will taste even better."

  • "First time at this restaurant and we really enjoyed it. I saw many other things on the brunch menu that I would like to go back to try. The food was delicious and the server and hostess both seemed happy to be there, which is a big plus to me."
