Diner Reviews
  • "Enjoyed my lunch, had the salmon and it was great as well as the ice cream I had for dessert. Great place for lunch to enjoy meeting with friends and dining in a relaxed atmosphere. I plan on coming back again."

  • "My friend injured herself that morning and cancelled our lunch date last minute. The staff was wonderful and attentive. I really enjoyed have a quiet lunch to myself. It was lovely."

  • "Had a great time.. The food was great. I went there for my anniversary dinner. We got the chahr which you choose any four samplers.. We then got a salad.. For our entries we chose a Vegetarian Bademjan Stew and Vegetarian Fesenjan Stew.. I prefered the Bademjan stew.. We also tried had the pomegrante and pumpkin martini they had to much alcohol for my taste. But other than that service was great."

  • "Been to this cute spot before w my family and food is usually really good. The other night, the lamb (not cheap) was rubbery, kibboodeh was mediocre and chicken was bland. Service and atmosphere still great. But something's changed w food quality."

  • "We are always pleased to find good local ethnic fare, and the Persian cuisine at Pomegranate did not disappoint. If you enjoy Mediterranean, Greek, or Middle Eastern cuisine it is worth a try. My wife and I split a meal, a starter, and a dessert; and we left satisfied with no leftovers, not overstuffed, and with a reasonable bill!"

  • "Great food. Really healthy. Attentive service. Convenient parking across the street. Owner is on site and engaged with patron's dining experience. I give Pomegranate high marks."

  • "Food and service was excellent. Our waiter Zack was great let us enjoy our conversation and meals while still keeping our bevrages full and had such a pleasant personality. We enjoyed appetizers to dessert without feeling rushed. It was a beautiful night for June and the dinner complemented the beautiful night. The hostess sat us in a very small space/ table although there was other seating available. After we asked to be seated somewhere different the manager was very helpful finding us an alternative seating arrangement which made the night very pleasant."

  • "As a vegetarian, I was please with the 2 appetizers (hummus and spinach). However, I came for one of the interesting vegetarian entrees, but neither of the 2 were available. So I ordered the grilled shrimp with rice and tomato dish. The shrimp were good, the rice tasted excellent but was dry. It was not quite enough to eat, so I am glad we ordered 2 appetizers. $24 for 6 or 7 shrimp was too expensive for me to return. Had the restaurant had the unusual vegetarian stews, I am sure I would have been pleased."

  • "Great food and service. Open to splitting entree and filling two plates for minimal fee. Highly recommend the Salmon. "

  • "Hummus is great. Entree was decent. The meat is cooked well but not real crazy about the rice. It was a Tuesday night and we didn't get there til about 8:20. But the service was slow (I wanted more wine but the waitress disappeared). She was friendly though. Not really blown away by it or anything but the atmosphere is very nice. There is a nice little outdoor patio area."

  • "My granddaughter is gluten-intolerant, so I was delighted to find an interesting menu with variety for her. She especially enjoyed the mint leaves and hummus, and the rose water-pistachio ice cream. "

  • "Group of 7 ate off the lunch menu(we were given a choice of lunch/dinner) and everyone was pleased with their choices. The hummus is excellent; wine was reasonable and tasty. The dessert (chocolate cake) was awesome and tasted even better than it looked in the picture. We could have eaten three more pieces for the table!! Service was satisfactory and the waitor did not hover and lurk about; he was efficient, pleasant and helpful. Perfect spot for our family to celebrate college graduation!! "

  • "We love eating foods from different regions. Persian is not easy to find so Pomegranite is a real gem. We had three generations eating and tried most appetizers, kabobs, lamb, and the stews. All terrific and everyone thought it was a great time. Only drawback was that the table for 6 really does not fit 6 adults well. "

  • "The Pomagranate is one of my favorite restaurants I'm Greenville and by far the best in downtown. The employees are always polite and friendly. The good is excellent and not over priced. I would recommend the Pomagranate to anyone looking to have a nice meal no matter the occasion. "

  • "The best salmon dish in Greenville. It is full of flavor, delicate, perfectly cooked. The Lima bean rice and tomatoes that accompany the dish are the perfect match. In my opinion, Pomegranate doesn't disappoint with flavor, flair, and service!"

  • "We had a couple of appetizers (hummus and spinach dip), the lamb shank and salmon. The lamb was very tender but not much flavor. The apps and salmon were extremely good. Good portions and great sides. The server was very nice and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. "

  • "Sat outside on a perfect evening. Waiter was attentive and the drinks and appetizers were very good. The Main course was ok but not exciting. I would go back for a drink and appetizers."
    Dined on 4/24/2014
  • "The Persian food was something out of the ordinary, and I really enjoyed it. I had the tenderloin kabob. It was a little too done for my taste. Others had lamb kabobs and shrimp kabob and fish of the day. All said theirs was excellent. The grilled vegetable side was excellent also and enough to share. Half-price bottles of wine on Wednesday. Loved that and will definitely return."

  • "I have been here before and will again, but this time I found something lacking here. Not sure if it was the rain outside that dampened spirits inside :) My Salmon roast was awesome, the Veg Kabob my wife had was definitely insipid and not worth the price you pay. Chicken Torsh was standard with nothing worth mentioning about. The chocolate cake and the pomo icecream were very good. The biggest ingredient though in the experience is the service and I found that a notch or two down from the previous experience. The lady seemed to be in a rush and was seemingly impatient ... Never took time to explain the food or let us know what her favorites would be.....she came with an attitude !! I will think again if I have to spend my money here"

  • "The patio is the place to dine. It has heaters for cool evenings. Pomegranate Martinis are a must and absolutely delish. All dishes come with rice which is lovely and very well cooked. The hummus starters are very good. The main courses are somewhat alike - lamb kabobs, chicken kabobs, beef kabobs but all of these were good. One of us had salmon which was great. Another had a beef stew which was good but the beef was very tough. Lamb kabobs were the table favorite. Wine list is good. Service was excellent as was the entertainment on the patio. We are close neighbors and will definitely go again."

  • "We returned to Pomegranate and enjoyed a most relaxing and enjoyable dinner. Seated outside in our favorite spot (next to the water wall), the cuisine was perfect (lamb kabob), cocktail excellent (Pom Royale) and dessert just right to finish a perfect meal (pomegranate mint chocolate chip ice cream). We will certainly return to enjoy wonderful healthy food and a lovely ambiance"

  • "This was at least our third trip to Pomengranate, and this time we brought friends from Michigan. They were well pleased with our choice of dining, and we were pleased again. We picked this restaurant for good food and a quiet atmosphere where we could visit. We found both."

  • "The Pomegranate on Main used to be a very enjoyable restaurant. That's changing sorry to say - in the wrong direction. Our last visit was our last visit - for good. The only thing we liked were the appetizers. Both entrees left a lot to be desired. What was most desired was "taste". Where did all the flavor go at Pomegranate? Both the chicken and the beef had no detectable flavor - either in the meat itself or in the marinade/sauce used for broiling. Obviously, cutbacks are going on now. Usually, the way you get around flavorless meat is to "dress it up" with saucing techniques, marinades, dry rubs, etc. In this case, even that didn't work. And the noise level was beyond intrusive!! A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!"

  • "This was our first visit and we had a very good experience. Our server was most helpful explaining all the various dishes and the specials for the evening. The food was excellent. My wife loves eggplant and the Eggplant Stew (Bademjan) she had was the best she ever eaten. I had the Surf N Turf special of lamb chops and grilled shrimp that was excellent also. We had reservations and the restaurant did have a brisk flow of diners. During the warmer season part of the restaurant has open air seating."
