Diner Reviews
  • "Too dark and crowded. Had a hard time hearing server 's explanations about sides. Side of lentil, coconut and spinach was not too good. Garlic bread was delicious as was the sourdough bread. Sea bass was ok. Have had better. Way too pricey for the value received. Won't ever go back."

  • "This is an excellent restaurant for a nice evening out to celebrate the end of your week. The facility is very nice with a good atmosphere. Waiter was knowledgeable and the food was good. It's obviously a local favorite because there were quite a few young people there for "Prom Night". The only negative thing I could say is that the waiter was not very knowledgeable on the wine list, and when I asked questions he not only didn't know, but he was unable to locate the Sommelier to help either. I'm used to having to go it alone so we did and it turned out fantastic. Overall a very good meal and excellent experience."

  • "We were set at a table meant for less than six. It was very close to get in and out and to eat. We had a Good time because we were with good friends. Probably wouldn't do this again as a group. Too Crowded I'm Sure if we would have been in a private room My ratings and views would have been much better!"

  • "After reading several articles while traveling, the name "Polo Grill" came up several times. I had to find out just how good this place really is. Tulsa is just a 3 hour drive from home. Perfect for a little get away. Well, the experience was superb. The food was wonderful. The service was great. The staff we had the pleasure of meeting were second to none."

  • "First the good. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the food was poor quality and prices were very high. Bread was sliced sourdough from the supermarket. I had the Asian Pork Chops. The chop was served atop watery mash potatoes and soggy spinach. I"

  • "This was my first experience at the Polo Grille. I was looking for something different than the usual Olive Garden scene and I was not disappointed. Loved the ambiance, the food and our waiter was wonderful. We had a ballet to attend and were running late. We were given fast, great service. Looking forward to a return visit."

  • "We reserved through OpenTable. We ended up being about 10 minutes late and they were able to seat us. The staff was pleasant, gracious, accommodating and professional. The restaurant gives a little hideaway atmosphere. The food was quite good, although the presentation didn't blow me away for this level of cuisine. My wife had surf and turf and I had the sea bass. Spinach, strawberry and pecan salad was excellent. Only downside were overhearing conversations of some of the more eccentric patrons. Overall an excellent experience at one of Tulsa's culinary gems."

  • "The Polo Grill has been a Tulsa favorite for decades, but the food keeps pace with the best of nouvelle cuisine. Everything was perfect, from the seared tuna "amuse bouche", olives and perfect breads, through the lobster/shrimp bisque, all of our entrees (sea bass, salmon "tamale", frenched chicken, pork chop, and redfish) to the creme brulee. The service was impeccable. It is very refreshing to have a wonderful dinner at a restaurant that is quiet enough to have a good conversation without having to raise one's voice. On this cold, snowy night, the warm and cozy ambiance was perfect."

  • "Food and service was exceptional. It was a special menu for Valentine's weekend, and each course and the service was A+."

  • "Steak was delicious but overpriced; service was below average and mixed drink I ordered they could not get it right so I sent it back and stuck with wine."

  • "Food was good but service was lacking. It appeared that we were irritating one of our wait staff. We remembered the same guy being irritated last year when we were in town to eat. Will not be our first choice next year. Food was great but for 500.00 bones for two people I think I should be leaving with a "you got to eat here". Also didn't appreciate the 20% gratuity attached to my initial bill!!!!! I should pay gratuity off of service not an assumption."

  • "Great food and service! Our only surprise was they were only offering the tasting menu for Valenines. No choices on what to order. $100 a person was more than we expected."

  • "Very disappointed that there was no music on Valentines Day Weekend! place seemed very flat with no atmosphere. The excuse, "Our music box isn't working" just didn't seem adequate when you're dropping over $200 for dinner! I'm sure it's different most of the time, but the night we were there, you missed the mark. We'll look elsewhere."

  • "The Polo Grill is one of the very best restaurants in America. Please do not pass up the opportunity to dine here when you are in Tulsa. I've never experienced better, anywhere! As good as, maybe, but not better."

  • "My husband and I recently dined at Polo Grill. Our table was comfortable and romantic. The service was outstanding. Our waiter provided wonderful suggestions and kept our wine glasses topped off. The entire staff worked together to make sure that we were taken care of and then left to enjoy our meal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a nice romantic evening or an intimate dinner with friends."

  • "Being from out of town it was not the easiest place to find but well worth the effort. Great food and very attentive service. I had the special and the Meditteranean sea bass was well done. We finished the meal with a cheese plate and coffee. We were well satisfied."

  • "We chose Polo Grill to help us celebrate our anniversary on New Years Eve. They had a $75 a person special for the Holiday. The wife is not able to eat a full meal, so the people at Polo's split the meal for us. The food was delightful and the service was the best."

  • "Our Server was as wonderful as could be!!! She made My wife's experience, when I asked her to marry me, a once-in-a-lifetime event that we will remember always. She accommodated by taking pictures and appreciating the significance of the event. The food was even greater than could be possibly expected!!!"

  • "I grew up going to Utica Square at Christmas time to look at the Nutcracker displays. My husband had never been at Christmas and i hadn't been since I was a child. We decided to make an evening of it and researched the restaurants and decided on the Polo Grill. I am so happy we did. It is a little hard to find tucked away in that quaint corner, but that is part of what gives it the charm it has. The ambiance was wonderful from the time we walked through the door. The service was great and the food some of the best I have had. The lobster bisque was so buttery and warm I would go back for that alone. The newyork strip melts in your mouth and the key lime pie was perfect. Needless to say we will be going back for another visit soon."

  • "The service was a tiny bit slow at first but then it picked up & had the right tempo throughout the rest of our dinner. Our main waiter was wonderful & very knowledgeable about the restaurant history & the food. We had a complete meal, from the Fried Polo Calamari, Tomato Bisque, Sugar Beet Salad, Red Fish, to the Chocolate Mousse & the House Baked Fudge, & in general everything was wonderful from beginning to end. The House Made Chocalate (small bites) were the "bomb". The drinks were made to perfection & the wine (white) was great. We were there for a bout 2 hrs & enjoyed every bit of it. All in all the atmosphere was very good, it felt comfortable, the wait staff was pleasant & professional, & the food very memorable. We will be back!"

  • "We were in Tulsa for the marathon and chose this restaurant on open table prior to our visit. We travel all over the country for races and unlike most marathoners, we skip the pasta dinner and choose fine dining with steak and good wine. This is one of the best choices I have ever made while traveling. The service was impeccable, the wine list was exceptional and the food was outstanding. The beet salad was delicious and we both loved the steak special which was blackened with a blue cheese sauce. I even splurged on the calorie count and ordered the creme brulee, and I was glad that I did. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Tulsa."

  • "Always great food and wine. We have had several servers there, and they are all nice and professional. I give this place a 4.5/5 overall. The steaks are all cooked to perfection, whether rare, medium rare, medium...however you like it. The scene is very quiet with dimmed lighting with a 45+ age crowd. The restaurant is one of the classiest places in Tulsa and the staff tries to make everyone feel special."

  • "The food and ambiance were very nice, as we expect of Polo Grill. Our waiter seemed unsure of himself. When our drinks were brought, my son had to ask for a glass for his beer; it came with water in the bottom that had to be poured out. When he got his second beer, same problem - had to pour out the water. After our appetizers, salads & entrees, 2 of us ordered dessert, our son ordered Irish coffee, which was forgotten. Had to ask for it again. Maybe they were training someone on a Wednesday night; if so, he needed someone trailing him to oversee."

  • "As always, our dining experience was excellent. Polo Grill is always or go to for a special occasion. Food is great and service is always impeccable....best staff in Tulsa."

  • "Other than the amuse bouche, which wasn't worth the chef's effort, the food was very good - wedge salad was perfectly sized - not a gigantic head of lettuce and little dressing that I encounter much too frequently. French chicken was moist and flavorful as was the BBQ pork chop. Wine list was ok. Wines we were familiar with seemed a bit high; many wines we didn't know. Our waiter was excellent - pleasant, appropriately attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and foods, and otherwise not intrusive. Loved the atmosphere: cozy little place, not loud, good balance of well-lit table in a generally darker surrounding. Would definitely return."

  • "My husband and I went here for the first time for our one year anniversary. It was very romantic and the food was great. One of the best steaks we have ever had. The server was very nice and helpful and gave us a great experience. If you want to find a place that is very quiet and romantic for your and your significant other, this is the place. The Chef also gave us a glass of complimentary champagne for our first time being there. It's nice to see a restaurant that actually cares about their guests. What a great perk for the restaurant business! I will definitely recommend this place to family and friends."
