A word from Po Le Cucina
Po Le has over 30 years' experience in the food business. He is experienced in French and Italian cuisine with an Asian background. Gourmet hors d'oeuvres and banquets for private parties and special events are available.

Po Le is a fine Pastry Chef, having mastered sherberts, ice creams, hot and cold soufflés, cookies, petite fours, cakes and tarts.

We make our own unique ravioli and gnocchi dishes.
Our fresh homemade pasta is made on premises and our fresh fish arrives daily. Don't forget we are a BYOB!

  • "I can't seem to go to PoLe and not order the calamari and the pasta with duck because it's so good. I was glad that my dad tried the octopus and mom tried the figs wrapped in prosciutto. I plan to have both next visit! EVERYTHING was delicious and the soft shells looked very good but, unfortunately, dad finished them without offering me a taste!"

  • "Having read all the glowing reviews we expected great things. Po Le is basically in our backyard and it would have been nice to have something relaible to frequent..but for us it did not live up to all the hype. Mediocre food, amateurish service just didn't do it for us. Resturant was packed..took us 15 mins to get bread when the table next to us got it in 15 seconds, but after 10 minutes they had to ask for menus. Pasta bolgonese didn't offer any complexity or marriage of flavors that a good bolognese often does. Seafood special was anything but..shrimp, egg noodles, spinach, a few tomatoes, all in a garlic white wine sauce for $28..c'mon. Sorry to say as much as I wanted to like Po Le I really didn't."

  • "We had tried Po Le the first week it opened and found it rather disorganized and the food just OK. Then we forgot about it for a while and when I was searching Open Table one night, I saw it on the list and decided to try it again. We were so pleasantly surprised with everything, from the gracious greeting that we received to the delicious and beautifully presented food. This will definitely be a go to favorite of ours from now on."

  • "This is perfection! Wonderful food, great service , very warm, welcoming. Owner, chef Po Le will greet you ! You will enjoy everything on the menu. Best veal chop, fabulous fishes, ravioli unlike any eaten elsewhere( full of real seafood) topped with shrimp, scallops, baby lobster tail I could go on and on. Basically everything is fabulous. To top it off, marvelous desserts and it is BYOB! "

The menu has many options along with daily specials-something for everybody. The food has complex flavors from start to finish. Timing between courses were not rushed.   • "Had a girl's night out - Po Le's is a BYOB and the food is fantastic. Highly recommend the seafood linguine - the smaller portion is a good size portion - save some of the bread they give you to dip up all of the white wine garlic sauce! Definitely a neighborhood gem. Very busy on the weekends. We went on a Tuesday night and was surprised how many others were dining out that night. Also save room for dessert. Crème brulee and the raspberry tort are so good."

  • "This is a little Italian restaurant unassumingly tucked in a strip of other stores but it has outstanding food. The owner/chef used to work at another place down the street where I'd always loved the crab pasta, but he has made this spot his own. Excellent appetizers (lobster & asparagus), soups and pasta dishes. Not a pizza joint, so expect to pay higher prices for the quality. Not at all crowded when we went for lunch, but expect to wait for dinner if you don't have reservations."

  • "Have been here 4-5 times and am consistently impressed with the food as well as the service. The staff couldn't be nicer and more welcoming. They are very attentive without being annoying. The food here is great. I love the pasta with duck ragu and everyone at my table did too. The seafood risotto is also a star. They have full and smaller portions so you can choose to meet your needs and budget. The prices are also very reasonable!"

  • "Loved it when it was Nina's and now we love it more. Been twice and food was consistent and very good. Basic Italian menu with a good variety of fish specials each night. Had Blue Point oysters each time as a special and they were delicious, Chef Po Le has done an excellent job of putting together a great staff and creating a fun neighborhood restaurant. BYOB is a plus in my book!!!!!"

  • "This was my 2nd visit to Po Le. The first time it was superb! Despite the many appealing options, I had loved the lamb chops so much, I couldn't resist ordering them again. The last time they were the best I had ever had. On Thursday they were fatty and not very flavorful. The Ceasar was drenched in dressing. Its croutons were huge, tough, toasted chunks of unseasoned bread. Dessert however, was divine--a perfectly baked chocolate souffle with a warm gooey center. A marvelous finish to a mediocre meal. Perhaps it was just an off night? I don't know. I do know though, if this meal had been my introduction to Po Le, I would not be returning. It was so outstanding on my first visit however, I'll probably give it another try."

  • "Went with two friends, all three of us ordered a fish entree. Two were very buttery and one was fishy tasting. Everything on the plate was buttery. We felt cramped the way they sat 3 people. The service was slow, we felt like they forgot about us. Will give it another try but will not order fish!"

They were very accomoating with the BYOB and brought the food out at a perfect pace. Intimate setting but not too cramped. Hope they stay in the neighborhood for a long time!"

Be aware, however, that the list of specials is very long and tempting on the weekends...and while most entrees on the menu are in the $25 range (pasta dishes for less), the specials cost $35. Prices on specials are not disclosed in advance--it's a great way to increase the cost of the check."

  • "Po Le can be tough to get into for dinner so we went for lunch and the food is just outstanding. We had been to San Marco several times so knew of Po Le's cooking but it's nice to go to his own restaurant that's BYOB. We can't wait to go back."
