We were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary. Nice restaurant, linens, candles, etc. We were met with anniversary greetings, nice touch. It kinda went flat from there. Our waiter was knowledgeable enough, kinda dull. We had crab cakes for appetizer. That was probably the best part of the whole meal. I ordered the filet with grilled shrimp and baked potato. My husband had the grilled pork loin with the lobster mac and cheese. I've had a better steak at Texas Roadhouse for 1/3 of the price. I didn't taste my husband's pork loin but he said it was ok. The lobster mac was so-so to be $17! We had a $60 groupon and still spent $70 before taxes. Totally NOT worth it. Probably wouldn't recommend unless it was for happy hour.

My husband asked for his ribeye medium. The first one brought out was well done so they put another on the grill. The second one was medium rare. Tried again and it finally came out medium, but by that time he didn't even want it anymore. The service was great though. Awesome server and awesome manager.

Plaza III lived up to my expectations. Steaks were delicious and good portions. Mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese were nothing extraordinary. Service was good and quick. A la carte sides weren't outrageously priced and steaks were between $40-$50 a piece and cooked just how we asked. Would go back again for a special occasion.

The restaurant couldn't get the temperature correct on my wife's filet not once or twice but three times. The side dishes were bland in flavor. The Salad was served warm with a scant amount of dressing. I had been to Plaza three several times in the past, the last time being in 2006. Unfortunately, overall the overall experience has diminished significantly.

It was our 20th anniversary. We always go to 1 of the good restaurant. This time we picked u. But unfortunately we had a wrong choice. We came at 8.30 but we felt that we came at the wrong time or closing time. Food was very expensive for the size and quality. But any way service was not good too. After delivering toe food 1 item was missing than he brought that back but after few minutes he was keep checking are we done or not than every minute he was peaking from the corner are we done. Seriously this kind of restaurants we don't except that. Specially if it's an occasion. Sorry.

Have come here since 70s. Ambience , tradition great. Our server Michael was very attentive. The good disappointingly was forgettable. The steaks were fair and the creamed spinach was water runny probably from steaming the vegetable. In all the years of coming here it was the first time we have had this kind of experience. I hope it hasn't become the norm. We will try Plaza III again .

We enjoy coming to Plaza 3. It is a nice traditional steakhouse with large entrees and everything a la carte. The food is top quality, not trendy and what you would expect from an established steakhouse. The prices are high, but the food quality is also high. Service very good and it's nice to come to a white tablecloth restaurant where the waitstaff is not in jeans. We will be back.

You would expect a 50 year old steakhouse that still serves a relish tray to provide an acceptable but unexciting experience. But Plaza III knocked us out with superb salads, butter-soft filet mignon perfectly cooked to our order, garlic mashed potatoes that really tasted like potatoes and more, all served by a charming but unobtrusive eight-year veteran of the house. The menu has standard steakhouse fare but the ingredients and execution elevated our experience to something memorable. For creative American cuisine, go elsewhere. But for a superb classic steakhouse experience, this is the place in KC.

This was our first time here and we came for our18th wedding anniversary. We had a reservation at 6 and loved that it was still pretty quiet. We had a wonderful server that had the right mix of checking if we needed anything but also letting us enjoy our evening. We do not do this very often so it is a real treat. The food was exceptional. My prime rib was better than I expected and my husband loved his steak also. It was just what we both had wanted. We will let others know of our experience.

We went here for my Dad's 70th birthday celebration dinner on Thursday, August 28th. We had a party of five and had a very nice table in a quiet area in the back of the restaurant. The food and wine was great! My parents had the filet and I had the Kansas City strip. All the steaks were cooked to our liking and the sides were great. We had the french fried onion strings (which were amazing), the mushrooms and the lyonnaise potatoes (which all were delicious and crowd pleasers). All of the side portions were very large and enough for a group of five. The service was wonderful...very personable and top notch. They even bought my Dad desert for his birthday. We had the key lime pie and the chocolate cake. The wine list was also extensive!

This is our favorite restaurant in Kansas City - we dine there about 4 times a year and stay the night at a hotel in the Plaza area. It is a quiet atmosphere but with plenty of great service and serious diners enjoying the great beef dishes. We are usually there about 2 hours so we must really enjoy it!

Took my wife there for a night out. This was our first time visiting the Plaza III. The atmosphere was great. Very peaceful and the ambience was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only problem we had with it was the food. I ordered a T-bone and my wife got the KC Strip. The were prepared correctly, However for $50 a steak it wasn't the best steak of my life. It was not seasoned properly at all. As a home cook I definitely have prepared better steaks. That being said it was still a great experience and a great night out but just a disappointment with the steaks.

We have a goal to go to all the restaurants in the Plaza, this one is one of them. I was actually expecting a lot because this restaurant has REALLY good reviews, and I was not disappointed. I ordered the prime rib (regular) and oh lord jesus, it was superb. My boyfriend ordered the large filet mignon and it was so plump and delicious. I really liked the fact that the waitress came out with a cart that showed the cuts of beef, the "side" portions and the potatoes they use (size wise). I got a whole side for myself of mushrooms, and my boyfriend got the mashed potatoes, which he reported were very good as well. The mushrooms were cooked nicely with butter and herbs, I ate all of them!. We will be coming back here.

The hostess was great in seating us to our table. Our waiter was not professional at all. He didn't introduce himself. When he did come around to our table, he didn't do a great job in sharing the specialties that was offered. He check on our table less than 3 times. Our dinner reservations were on a Monday and the restaurant was not crowded. He didn't start to come around and to be more friendly until most of his customers in his section were empty. This was a special night for me and my date and it was not great experience.

Friend and I had our bi-annual birthday lunch that we've been doing for many years now. As is our tradition, we always get the same thing. Over the years, the quality of PIII has never wavered. The food is always excellent. I have the seafood bisque and friend has the the famous steak soup. In my opinion, both soups are some of the finest you will find in the KC area. I love the bread basket that accompanies the meals. The sweet biscuits go so well with the seafood bisque and the warm loaf bread equally well with the steak soup. Main course is always sliced sirloin with horseradish sauce on the side and mashed potatoes with gravy. Once again, PIII leaves us blissfully happy.

A while back, my wife and I decided to tour all of the dining spots on the Plaza. With only a handful of restaurants to go, we saved the Plaza III for a special occasion, and when our anniversary rolled around we took the plunge. Rogelio, our server, was outstanding throughout the evening. Our meals were cooked to perfection and were absolutely delicious. We capped off the evening with two mouth-watering desserts. This was easily one of my favorite steaks and I highly recommend The Plaza III. (Note. I placed the noise level at "Moderate," but the evening was never too noisy. It was just slightly above "Quiet.") We had: Two Caesar Salads, 12oz KC Strip, Prime T-Bone, Garlic Mashed potatoes, Slice of Chocolate Cake, Creme Brûlée.

We have been coming to Plaza III for years to celebrate special occasions. This was our anniversary celebration dinner (45 years). While the food was outstanding as usual, the service was fairly slow and not much attention was paid to details (keeping water glasses filled, etc.) That was somewhat disappointing; also disappointing were the changes in downstairs; it used to be a fun place to go to listen to music and dance on occasion. That is definitely not the case now. The above notwithstanding, we will continue to come to Plaza III to celebrate.
