All three of us ordered the large prime rib and could not finish it. The wine list was impressive, but no Merry Edwards on there (Sonoma County). Bread was mediocre. Service was commensurate with cost. Nice looking restaurant on the inside. Overall, very pleased.

The restaurant itself is very clean and nice and the service was good. We were taken care of in a timely manner and our orders were correct. The problem with Plaza III is that the food was not the greatest. My husband and I both ordered steak and I also ordered the lobster tail. As far as the steaks go, they are priced much like those at Capital Grille, they however do not compare in taste. For the price we paid, I was a little disappointed in the taste of the steaks. They were kind of blah and left much to be desired. The lobster was good but the dipping sauce was not. In addition, the Mac-n-Cheese didn't have much flavor. If I were to choose again I would skip Plaza III and go straight to Capital Grille.

I only paid $30 for a group on and it was till not worth it. Thank god I didn't pay full price! Te food was ok but they got almost everything wrong on my boyfriends dinner which I was upset about because it was his birthday :(. The best thing was he was given a free dessert for his day and it was delicious and big enough for the both of us.

A long time favorite is the sourdough bread at the Plaza 3. It has been replaced by an awful , Bunny bread, strange tasting, non-descript substitute. Please stick with what has worked so well for many years......your famous sourdough. On the plus side, our prime rib was excellent as were the crispy hashed brown potatoes. Delightful server named Alahandro made our meal near perfect.

Great salad but with garlic allergy, can't haVe ranch dressing anymore. Your bread and butter are superb. The French dip sandwich, especially at a steak house, should be lean and cooked medium nice slices. The meat was good but seemed to be overdone scraps. But I always go there for special occasions and will continue to but not order this sandwich again. We had a delicious ice cream sundae that was complimentary and very much appreciated for my friend's birthday.

Visited for lunch and had the Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich with fries and homemade Coleslaw. Everything was good, except the Slaw which was EXCEPTIONAL, about the BEST I've ever had! The waitress was super nice and even gave me 2 containers to go with my doggie bag after I raved about them. The Plaza III has always been our go-to Happy Hour spot with their very addictive Beef Tenderloin Skewers ( I always order 5 of them) and their Potato Skins are DEVINE! I don't know about the rest of you, but we will definitely be back, maybe even tonight for Happy Hour!

My husband and I used to live in KCI and had our first date there. We flew in from ATL for a function and decided to visit Plaza III again 21 years later. When we walked in there was a young girl who did not know quite what to do with us as they were just starting to serve for dinner, Friday evening at 6pm. Then she asked a young man to seat us, he passed us along to the sommelier to seat us, and this fellow did not seem happy to have to do so. We did get a request horseshoe booth in the back room. The waitress, Tish was very nice and accommodating except when I asked for a martini list which she answered a bit condescendingly "we don't have a martini list". The steak tartar was fabulous. The filet was sort of burned on outside.

I went to this restaurant on a Monday for my wedding anniversary. Our waiter was sweating all over the place. And we never received our bread with the meal. The food definitely was not worth the money or my time. I could have gotten better food and had a better time in almost any other steak house.

We were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary. Nice restaurant, linens, candles, etc. We were met with anniversary greetings, nice touch. It kinda went flat from there. Our waiter was knowledgeable enough, kinda dull. We had crab cakes for appetizer. That was probably the best part of the whole meal. I ordered the filet with grilled shrimp and baked potato. My husband had the grilled pork loin with the lobster mac and cheese. I've had a better steak at Texas Roadhouse for 1/3 of the price. I didn't taste my husband's pork loin but he said it was ok. The lobster mac was so-so to be $17! We had a $60 groupon and still spent $70 before taxes. Totally NOT worth it. Probably wouldn't recommend unless it was for happy hour.

My husband asked for his ribeye medium. The first one brought out was well done so they put another on the grill. The second one was medium rare. Tried again and it finally came out medium, but by that time he didn't even want it anymore. The service was great though. Awesome server and awesome manager.

Plaza III lived up to my expectations. Steaks were delicious and good portions. Mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese were nothing extraordinary. Service was good and quick. A la carte sides weren't outrageously priced and steaks were between $40-$50 a piece and cooked just how we asked. Would go back again for a special occasion.

The restaurant couldn't get the temperature correct on my wife's filet not once or twice but three times. The side dishes were bland in flavor. The Salad was served warm with a scant amount of dressing. I had been to Plaza three several times in the past, the last time being in 2006. Unfortunately, overall the overall experience has diminished significantly.

It was our 20th anniversary. We always go to 1 of the good restaurant. This time we picked u. But unfortunately we had a wrong choice. We came at 8.30 but we felt that we came at the wrong time or closing time. Food was very expensive for the size and quality. But any way service was not good too. After delivering toe food 1 item was missing than he brought that back but after few minutes he was keep checking are we done or not than every minute he was peaking from the corner are we done. Seriously this kind of restaurants we don't except that. Specially if it's an occasion. Sorry.

Have come here since 70s. Ambience , tradition great. Our server Michael was very attentive. The good disappointingly was forgettable. The steaks were fair and the creamed spinach was water runny probably from steaming the vegetable. In all the years of coming here it was the first time we have had this kind of experience. I hope it hasn't become the norm. We will try Plaza III again .

We enjoy coming to Plaza 3. It is a nice traditional steakhouse with large entrees and everything a la carte. The food is top quality, not trendy and what you would expect from an established steakhouse. The prices are high, but the food quality is also high. Service very good and it's nice to come to a white tablecloth restaurant where the waitstaff is not in jeans. We will be back.

You would expect a 50 year old steakhouse that still serves a relish tray to provide an acceptable but unexciting experience. But Plaza III knocked us out with superb salads, butter-soft filet mignon perfectly cooked to our order, garlic mashed potatoes that really tasted like potatoes and more, all served by a charming but unobtrusive eight-year veteran of the house. The menu has standard steakhouse fare but the ingredients and execution elevated our experience to something memorable. For creative American cuisine, go elsewhere. But for a superb classic steakhouse experience, this is the place in KC.

We had a wonderful server that had the right mix of checking if we needed anything but also letting us enjoy our evening. We do not do this very often so it is a real treat. The food was exceptional. My prime rib was better than I expected and my husband loved his steak also. It was just what we both had wanted. We will let others know of our experience.

We went here for my Dad's 70th birthday celebration dinner on Thursday, August 28th. We had a party of five and had a very nice table in a quiet area in the back of the restaurant. The food and wine was great! My parents had the filet and I had the Kansas City strip. All the steaks were cooked to our liking and the sides were great. We had the french fried onion strings (which were amazing), the mushrooms and the lyonnaise potatoes (which all were delicious and crowd pleasers). All of the side portions were very large and enough for a group of five. The service was wonderful...very personable and top notch. They even bought my Dad desert for his birthday. We had the key lime pie and the chocolate cake. The wine list was also extensive!
