I've been her before and it wasn't bad, but this experience was pretty bad. Granted long weekend and busy tourst were all crazy, but it's never an excuse for bad service. Food that was ordered was never brought out comp'd because it was there mistake, food that was tasteless and dry, a drink made wrong, but a rude bartender that makes things her own way, but doesn't understand customer service nor provides it.

When we made the reservation we thought they served brunch but when we arrived we found out that they didn't. We ordered lunch and found it to be just "okay". The portions were huge and the wait staff was accommodating by tuning in to our individual football game at our tableside TV. Other than that, we'd probably go somewhere else if we're ever in San Fran again.

I took my family to celebrate my sons 10th birthday and the experience was great. It was a Friday night and raining so it wasn't packed. Our waitress Stephanie was awesome. She was the only waitress working and she handled my table of 20 as well as the other customers dining with no problem. She took all of orders correctly, in a timely manner and friendly with ease. We received our food in a timely manner she made sure she continously checked to see if we were ok. Overall I give this restaurant a thumbs up

We watched groups of people leave because they were not being served or even acknowledged in a timely fashion. I felt sorry for the bartender who had to do double duty and serve drinks and take orders however, I kept noticing that he would visit the same table through out the night and finally realized that he knew them. After a while, we noticed that that specific table was getting their drinks faster than anyone else. We waiting a while to be acknowledged and have our food ordered but we were also taking our time so we didn't mind AS much, however, it was unfortunate to see families walk away.

When we arrived at Players after making an Open Table reservation, we were notified that the entire restaurant was booked for the UCLA/Illinois teams (the Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco). Players notified us that we were contacted; we only received one message on our home phone. Since we were in the City for an overnight visit, we did not get the message.Double insult, as we were there to watch the Cal v. Texas Holiday Bowl game. The group was apologetic but appeared to "blame us" for not getting the home message.I appreciate excellent service before excellent food; I expect, like any sports bar, the food was probably OK. The service outcome was much to be desired.

Skip this place. I expected this to be a knock-off of Dave & Buster's with Pier 39 influence. It had potential as a sports-bar and kids gaming place, but more Chuck E. Cheese-ish than decent dining. Somehow they ran out of BBQ sauce, so there was no condiment for my kids' chicken strips. We also couldn't order the BBQ ribs or BBQ chicken either. The sourdough bowl clam chowder took close over 20 minutes to arrive, and despite the place being scarce of customers and seemingly sufficiently staffed, the staff was relatively inattentive. I then tried to order dessert, but they were out of the key lime option. I had to ask for a manager, and he initially offered to give the kids more tokens to compensate, but then realized that inadequacy.
