However, on my most recent trip, the food runners--normally stellar--seemed to be a tad bit flustered. First, the runner didn't know who ordered what, he forgot to bring appropriate utensils for our dishes and then brought out an ice cream dessert that was significantly melted. While these issues are small, I've never experienced anything like this before at Plates and am chocking it up to Mother's Day brunch being a packed house.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful night. We were not disappointed. Best restaurant we've tried in westshester and we've tried most of them. Menu is a mix of innovative and comfortable and every thing we ordered was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Wines by the glass were great and the service was friendly and knowledgeable. The staff really seems happy and proud of their restauraunt and it comes across to the guest. Our server, though young, could not have been better. Fodd is well-prepared, good, not run-of-the-mill. Drinks are excellent; I am not a wine-drinker, so can't comment on the wine list. And there is an excellent "special deal" offered every day before six thirty: any appetizer and entree for $30. Restaurant is also very pretty, and is not noisy, which is hard to find these days.
