The ingredients are local and organic - they even have chickens in the back yard! The menu is small but covers all the bases and recipes are original without being weird. We especially liked the little gem salad with mandarins and minced olives, and the fried asparagus. The trout with romesco sauce was cooked perfectly and rabbit was savory and tender. The service was knowledgeable and, since it was quiet, more friendly than it might be otherwise - still, not overdone. Depending on how you approach the menu, this can be a weeknight can't-cook-tonight refuge or a fun splurge for a special occasion. Can't wait to go back!

Easter Sunday so not a "normal" night. I had called ahead to confirm they would be open on Easter as our first reservation turned out to be closed. The server seemed somewhat indifferent other than pouring the wine. He was condescending to his helper, particularly since it was a slow night. We never received any bread. He seemed to forget us after the entree was served. I have a reservation in a few weeks when my parents are visiting but may change it after last night.

Downhill alert. Presentation of raclette dish was an embarrassment for a restaurant. 20 mins till 1st approached by our waitress. Steak was tough. Cauliflowe soup a muddied mess Salads were good, squid still great. Hope they can come back.

From the split pea soup to the rabbit to the stinging nettle and wild rice risotto to the wild trout to the steak and fava beans we were all thrilled with our dinners and our server. Every thing was prepared to perfection. The steak was just as ordered and the trout was like butter.
The room is wood and tile so sounds are not absorbed and even on a relatively slow night it was pretty noisy but we could carry on a conversation.

Excellent food with an interesting and creative menu. Service was great as well. This was our third dinner at Plate Shop and the restaurant continues to improve. I am strongly recommending Plate Shop to everyone I know!
