A word from Plan B
Plan B is dedicated to the union of contemporary Northern Spanish Tapas and an innovative beverage program both influenced by Barcelona and the Basque region. The cuisine, the culture, the sensibility, and independent spirit of both regions desire to both honor the past and begin their future. Plan B creates food and beverage menus in tandem, with the operation’s concept reflected both in dishes and in signature drinks, wine list and craft beer selections. Plan B’s puts an eccentric and creative take on a urban tapas bar.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Maybe this was only rude to me because I am a non-native New Yorker, but when I am greeted at a restaurant with a warning that my group of six would lose our table after only 2 hours, my experience and opinion of the restaurant is ruined. I never had a host tell me before I've even ordered a meal how much time I have to eat before I get kicked out.. My group would've enjoyed many more drinks and tapas at this place if they hadn't been so eager to get us out. Instead, we left after the two hours and found someplace much more welcoming for dessert and cocktails. I'll never go back or refer a friend to eat at this place."

  • "If your Plan A restaurant isn't available, skip Plan B and figure something else out--anything else. The staff was clueless and pushing dishes they must have had too much of. The food was either too salty, flabby or flavorless. For example, the eggplant "fritters" were simply greasy slabs of tasteless fried eggplant. The meat was basically raw. The server we had didn't know anything about their wine selections. Horrible waste of an evening."

  • "Looooved the decor of the restaurants- high ceilings with romantic ambient lighting. the food was great (a little bit on the salty side but overall amazing)."

  • "Real Catalan tapas, original and perfectly prepared. Impeccable but still friendly service."

  • "I love the relaxed feel of this place. Service was well timed and friendly, wines were affordable. Food would need some spices, but overall is great. I will definitely return!"

  • "Food is good, tasty and well presented, service attentive, atmosphere cool (though music could be way better) Wine selection is not bad but they are overpriced. Just one caveat, this is miles away from real Spanish tapas, they might be good, but not at all close to anything you could find in Spain"

  • "Heavy and tasteless. We love tapas and have been to many tapas places but this one has the worst good I've ever had in NYC. Sangria was just weird, with nutmeg and old spice. The ambiance was nice. The service good if we were to disregard the fact the the server forgot to put two of our dishes in, which ended up being a great thing for us - we didn't want to try any more of this restaurants's disappointing cuisine."

  • "And we found the perfect restaurant and were beautifully coached through the menu by our tag-team waitstaff. We ordered the cheese tray, olives, butternut squash soup, green paella, brussel sprouts, short ribs, and chorizo. ALL were delicious choices. We felt the only thing missing from our array was seafood. The interior of Plan B is cool -- huge graphics on the wall and the bench seat that lines one wall is spotted-cow-hide covered -- a nice surprise in the middle of Soho. The only disappointment of the evening was that we wanted a pitcher of Sangrias but had to settle on glasses instead. While both the white and red versions were good (spices were a little heavy), I think Boqueria's (in Chelsea) are better."

  • "The food was yummy - but it just doesn't matter - because though I admit we sat down 10 minutes late (they asked us if we wanted to get drinks first - we did!) an hour into our meal we were asked to wrap it up because another party was expected. Plain and simple - that's never happen to me in the gazillion places we've been to in NYC - from low priced chains to Daniel, no one's ever told us we HAVE TO LEAVE because someone else is coming. And in the most obnoxious, rude, accusatory way. Would never go back and never recommend. Shame - because the food is good - and our server was funny, helpful and awesome. But Michael, manager? Great service is not one of his priorities."

  • "While it had a limited brunch menu the choices were quite tasty. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was fun. Would definitely recommend and go back to."

  • "We recently came here for dinner. For the most part the food was delicious and very creative, the green paella, tuna ceviche and braised short rib were favorites. There are also a bunch of more adventurous options, including python sausage, interesting, but a little dry for my taste. The one major disappointment was the sea snails dish, it was basically left untouched at our table. We ordered the Queimada, a traditional Galician stewed alcoholic drink with spices, very tasty and the prep is a lot of fun to watch, plus you get to read a spell while it's prepared! Unfortunately we were all still hungry by the end, the tapas are great, but very small, and the cost adds up when most of the tapas are $12-18. Nonetheless, a fun place to try."

  • "The food here is killer and the staff was very accommodating. I recommend this for a date spot and apparently the brunch is heat."

  • "I picked this place on a whim and then read all the rave reviews about it. Well I can without a doubt agree with everything that was said about Plan B. We got there before our reservation and managed to have a dozen of the happy hour $1 oysters and the olive selection to start. The oysters were huge, briney and chilled to perfection, a heavy dollop of horseradish and we were off. We then had the wonderful cheese plate with four or five kinds of cheese. We moved on to the Patatas Bravas, the Octopus and the Mushrooms all of which were phenomenal. I topped that off with the Chorizo which were sweet and salty, delicious. We had Flan and a Dark Chocolate cake for dessert. All in all and incredible dinner experience that made me long for Spain!"

  • "We were asked by the manager to pay the bill because people were waiting for our table. Needless to say we were appalled by such a request. We'd all been dining in NYC for decades and never had a direct request like this. Additionally, the same manager would not seat us until the other couple arrived which is not unusual but it probably delayed getting our meal started which subsequently caused our alloted time to go over as well. Otherwise we enjoyed the food, the wait service was very pleasant and efficient making good suggestions as to what to eat."

  • "Nice, but a little expensive for the portions, and I do understand that tapas are smaller portions. Food flavor was good, not excellent. The menu is quite eclectic."

  • "Food, service and ambiance really great. I book a reservation solely on recommendations and was not disappointed. Cocktails were written up as really creative and good but mine was weak and not very impressive."

  • "Food, service and atmosphere were superb! Attention to detail is on point and you really feel as though You are the only table! Food is beyond amazing and my goal is to keep returning and try Every item on their menu! Great night out!!"

  • "Prime location with weird mixture of decorating style and taste, but tapas was wonderful. Small dishes indicated on menue in very distinct categories of veggie, meat seafood, etc. and section for unusual food."

  • "The place is quirky and pretty cool in decor but it stops there. While the menu is intriguing , it didn't deliver and we had a new server who had difficulty with the language and also conveying what was correct."
