I chose the lounge for the view of the gardens and waterfall. The asparagus appetizer was wonderful however the creme broulee was cold and not too good. Unique wine list and servers are a cut-above, really! The desserts are worth a special trip but you may not have room after all the good food.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDisappointed in the food...We chose PLaE for my husband's birthday dinner because it is convenient to where we live and because we wanted something a little more upscale. We were a little disappointed in the end because as it turned out, the only things that were more upscale were the restaurant itself and possibly the service. The food was okay but not memorable and was most definitely overpriced. We could easily have paid $50 less elsewhere for better food. I can't say we'll be going back any time soon. The entire staff put us at ease about having small children and we look forward to a return visit. However, we didn't get bread until we were almost finished eating, and it wasn't the best foccacio I have had. Booths were a little snug for four people. My wife had oysters prepared 2 ways. We shared a remarkable beet salad and butternut squash soup with flash fried beets on top.
