"I have eaten at Plae on a number of occasions. The food has always been good but service has been adequate untill last night. Although there were a number of items regarding the poor service or lack of service the one worth mentioning was the waitress dumping a full glass of wine in my fathers lap. The waitress did not replace/refill the glass and charged us for it as well.

I would skip Plae in the future or keep a close eye on the waitstaff from the get go, otherwise you will be sitting there for hours."

"The food was worse than I remember! We hadn't been to Amelia Island in sometime and while the waiter was very good, the food was horrific! I will NEVER go back! The tuna tartare was a complete joke...I literally had to choke it down with my water as my uncle was paying for dinner and I didn't want to be rude. The Veal Scallopini was horrible as well...these are supposed to be some of their "house favorites"...NOT! The only thing that was good was the wine and that they didn't have to make:)"

"It was 15 minutes before our waiter came to our table, with no apology. Another waiter finally filled our water glasses and said she didn't have our table but she would "light a fire" under ours. We didn't get the bottle of water we noticed every other table had until near the end of our meal. We thought we would get over this bad beginning if the food was good - but my fish (the evening's special) was dry, tasteless, and boring - with nothing but plain rice and a few mushy tomatoes and olives as garnish. My husband's dish was better, but nothing special. The meal was the most expensive of any other restaurant at Amelia - not worth it. There are so many better options on the island, especially for the price. We won't be back!"

"We had a group of 5 plus a 2 yr old child. The small plates (apps) we quite good but three of our five entrees were very poor. The duck was overcooked and went uneaten. The "Chef's Surpirse" was soft shell crab (In mid-March) and king crab legs. The Soft shell crab was fried with a heavy coating of corn meal and looked as bad as it tasted. It was difficult to taste the crab given the heavy coat the crab was fried in. The king crab legs were placed over a bed of a mixed mash of potato and ???. The result, given the water dripping off the crab, was crab legs stuck in a soupy lump of starch, turning what is normally a fairly messy meal into a sloppy hands on disaster."

"The atmostphere at PlaE was very good as was the food. The only problem was with the personnel. The 3 hostesses were very impressed with themselves but just stared at their computer screen. After we were seated, we ordered wine, but the waitress brought a different bottle from what we ordered. She didn't present it to me (as is normal at restaurants), so I didn't notice it until she poured it. When I got saw the label, I pointed out to her that it was not what we ordered. She said she didn't notice and she would check the order, but that what she brought was their most popular bottle of pinot noir. When I got the bill, I saw she charged for the bottle she brought, which was more than the one we ordered. Otherwise, it was enjoyable."

"Overpriced and Overambitious entrees. Very nice atmosphere. Waitstaff competent. Soups and salads were good. Southern spring roll was a failure, at least for this northerner. Presentation of the food outdoes the taste."
