In my experience, it is not often that a table of four can enjoy cocktails, appetizers, entrees and wine and honestly say that everything brought to the table was outstanding. Especially notable were the halibut, green curry clams and onion soup--all perfect.

We've eaten here three other times in the last three years. Last night we were really disappointed. Bills Bouillabase (sp) was watery and flavorless and the whole Dungeness crab i'd ordered was very over-cooked. Boo hoo, we won't be returning. We love the ambiance but for 300 bucks we expect to be happy with our dinners.

This was the highlight of our recent Seattle trip. Nestled in the Pike Place Market, this little gem will be on our Seattle to-go list from now on. Seated at the bar, awaiting a window table to be freed, we had a glass of wine and chatted with the bartender. It was very relaxing and deeply personal. The maitre d' kept us updated on "our" table and offered us a choice of two beautiful view tables. Not a huge menu but wide ranging and interesting. We were hard pressed to choose only one of the available entrees each but we did and sampled each others choices. Spectacular! If I had not made reservations for our next two nights, I'd go back again and again.

For wonderful French-style delicacies and a stunning view of the Seattle waterfront, Place Pigalle can't be beat. Located in Pike Street Market in downtown Seattle, this gem is small, intimate, and very special. We took our out-of-town guests here. Aside from the oysters which were a bit too briny for our tastes, we were all thrilled with the food. The mussels seasoned with bacon were particularly divine! We were also delighted with the spectacular view, ambiance, and excellent wait staff. Very recommended!

Couldn't be a more charming restaurant anywhere. Small and intimate. The clams were amazing. I had never seen them served that way in a thick sauce that included small chunks of bacon. Great service, friendly and always there at the right moment. The roasted beet salad was warm and the lemon-dijon vinagrette delicious along with a slice of goat cheese wrapped in walnuts. I knew I couldn't eat all that and an entree, so had their amazing onion soup for an entree. But couldn't resist their creme brulee which was creamy and perfectly toasted. You can't go wrong here.

Place Pigalle is my "go to" place, when I want to have a long leisurely lunch with a friend, followed by a stroll through the Pikes Place Market to pick up flowers and produce. It's also great for a cozy romantic dinner or just dinner with a friend if a romantic partner isn't available. Meals feature fresh produce as well as fish from the markets next door and some of the dishes cry out for repetition -- ie, it's hard to skip the mussels as an appetizer because I believe they are the best preparation in the city. That said, however, soups, salads (I love the beet) are all great. This past weekend, they featured a halibut special with roasted vegetables which was wonderful. I'll no doubt be back in a couple of weeks.

We dine here ourselves, and (as on this occasion) bring out of town guests - for the excellent food, excellent service, iconic Seattle view, and wonderful setting in Pike Place Market. We've never been disappointed. It can be a bit loud - you need to lean in to converse. But that's part of the vibe.

Our evening started at the bar, and it always seems that Place Pigalle has an excellent bartender. I didn't rate Place Pigalle as "great for outdoor dining" but, it can be, under the right conditions -- which a friend and I hit on Saturday. Beautiful, sunny day, temps hovering just at the point that make dining outside possible, and we grabbed the table set right at the front of the landing where Place Pigalle has been able to set up a few outdoor dining spaces. With the wonderful service provided by our server, the usual outstanding food, several glasses of an excellent white wine. Simply a terrific way to while away a few hours just steps away from the hubbub of Pike Place Market.

Seattles restaurant scene is vibrant and trendy. It is easy to forget about some of our classic wonderful gems that are hidden around the city. Place Pigalle is one of these gems. A quiet, small get-away in the noisy, big Market! Since, it was my birthday, I made reservations for lunch a week in advance, asking for a view table. The weather cooperated and we had a lovely view of Elliott Bay. I ordered the French Dip - the meat was so tender and the au jus rich and hearty. My friends who ordered the calamari raved about it. I'll have that the next time I go. The chocolate pots de creme topped off a great meal.

I was visiting from out of town. I can never decide if Maximilien or Place Pigale is better--but the point is irrelevant--they are both 6 stars in all categories--and basically next to each other. The views from the windows are spectacular. I do wish Seattle restaurants stayed open later, but then I am used to eating in NY and Paris where you can order dinner at 2 a.m. Great food, great service, interesting wine, and bartenders that know how to make a drop dead Manhattan!

We ate here for lunch and it was so good we made a reservation for the next night for dinner. For lunch we both had the Croque Madame, an Open-Faced, Black Forest Ham, Mornay Sauce, Baby Spinach, Sunny-Side-Up Egg sandwich. The bread it was on was delicious. For dessert we had the Pot de Creme, which is a delicious fudgy belgian chocolate pudding with homemade cream on top. It was fabulous! The next night I had the Carlton Farms Pork Chop with Potato, Leek and Bacon Hash. The sauce had red pepper and it was a little spicy but delicious. My hubby had the Duck Breast which he liked but was a bit jealous of mine. For dessert, we couldn't resist getting the Pot de Creme again - sinful! Best service we ever had - Guy was awesome!

We had a 1245p reservation for a lunch birthday celebration, but were late trying to find parking on warm sunny summer day. They were wonderful about holding us our outdoor table. Downside - lots of construction/paint scraping on roof above that kept raining down dirt and old paint scraps into our food and drinks. The outdoor seating area is lovely but a bit limited, sort of a sliver of a view between buildings. Food was excellent but the menu was a little limited. Waiter and bartender were excellent. Despite a few downsides, overall lovely experience.

Fish of the day (Salmon) with the corn, cherry tomatoes and bok choy well thought out with the fish done just right to the rare side as it should be.
