Place Pigalle is my "go to" place, when I want to have a long leisurely lunch with a friend, followed by a stroll through the Pikes Place Market to pick up flowers and produce. It's also great for a cozy romantic dinner or just dinner with a friend if a romantic partner isn't available. Meals feature fresh produce as well as fish from the markets next door and some of the dishes cry out for repetition -- ie, it's hard to skip the mussels as an appetizer because I believe they are the best preparation in the city. That said, however, soups, salads (I love the beet) are all great. This past weekend, they featured a halibut special with roasted vegetables which was wonderful. I'll no doubt be back in a couple of weeks.

Nice little place overlooking the sound. Get there early to snag a window table. We had the french onion soup, french dip and duck confit...al very tasty. The only criticism I might have is the skin on the duck could have been crispier.

We dine here ourselves, and (as on this occasion) bring out of town guests - for the excellent food, excellent service, iconic Seattle view, and wonderful setting in Pike Place Market. We've never been disappointed. It can be a bit loud - you need to lean in to converse. But that's part of the vibe.

Our evening started at the bar, and it always seems that Place Pigalle has an excellent bartender. After cocktails we decided to move to one of the outdoor tables where we enjoyed attentive service, wonderful food (rabbit and halibut, both outstanding), reasonably priced and well chosen wine and the company of other diners who were enjoying the experience just as much as we were.

I didn't rate Place Pigalle as "great for outdoor dining" but, it can be, under the right conditions -- which a friend and I hit on Saturday. Beautiful, sunny day, temps hovering just at the point that make dining outside possible, and we grabbed the table set right at the front of the landing where Place Pigalle has been able to set up a few outdoor dining spaces. With the wonderful service provided by our server, the usual outstanding food, several glasses of an excellent white wine. Simply a terrific way to while away a few hours just steps away from the hubbub of Pike Place Market.

Seattles restaurant scene is vibrant and trendy. It is easy to forget about some of our classic wonderful gems that are hidden around the city. Place Pigalle is one of these gems. The cozy bistro nestled in the market behind the touristy fish throwers is a locals secret. Highest quality food that showcases the northwest. breathtaking views, great service. Well crafted cocktails. This place will always be a favorite of mine.

A quiet, small get-away in the noisy, big Market! Since, it was my birthday, I made reservations for lunch a week in advance, asking for a view table. The weather cooperated and we had a lovely view of Elliott Bay. I ordered the French Dip - the meat was so tender and the au jus rich and hearty. My friends who ordered the calamari raved about it. I'll have that the next time I go. The chocolate pots de creme topped off a great meal.

I was visiting from out of town. I can never decide if Maximilien or Place Pigale is better--but the point is irrelevant--they are both 6 stars in all categories--and basically next to each other. The views from the windows are spectacular. I do wish Seattle restaurants stayed open later, but then I am used to eating in NY and Paris where you can order dinner at 2 a.m. Great food, great service, interesting wine, and bartenders that know how to make a drop dead Manhattan!

We ate here for lunch and it was so good we made a reservation for the next night for dinner. For lunch we both had the Croque Madame, an Open-Faced, Black Forest Ham, Mornay Sauce, Baby Spinach, Sunny-Side-Up Egg sandwich. The bread it was on was delicious. For dessert we had the Pot de Creme, which is a delicious fudgy belgian chocolate pudding with homemade cream on top. It was fabulous! The next night I had the Carlton Farms Pork Chop with Potato, Leek and Bacon Hash. The sauce had red pepper and it was a little spicy but delicious. My hubby had the Duck Breast which he liked but was a bit jealous of mine. For dessert, we couldn't resist getting the Pot de Creme again - sinful! Best service we ever had - Guy was awesome!

We had a 1245p reservation for a lunch birthday celebration, but were late trying to find parking on warm sunny summer day. They were wonderful about holding us our outdoor table. Downside - lots of construction/paint scraping on roof above that kept raining down dirt and old paint scraps into our food and drinks. The outdoor seating area is lovely but a bit limited, sort of a sliver of a view between buildings. Food was excellent but the menu was a little limited. Waiter and bartender were excellent. Despite a few downsides, overall lovely experience.

Soup of the day was a nice mix of vegetables and bits of Italian Sausage. Fish of the day (Salmon) with the corn, cherry tomatoes and bok choy well thought out with the fish done just right to the rare side as it should be. The Oregon Pinot Noir had just the right balance with no harsh after taste. Hope the restaurant does well especially with the out of the way location.

Place Pigalle had been one of my favorite places to dine with out of town guests and for special occasions both for lunch and dinner. My most recent experience did not meet my expectations. The food was mediocre at best. Both the food and presentation was marginal. The wine was corked. The service was average. A real drop off from my previous meals. There are many wonderful restaurants in this city. If they want to compete, changes will have to be made.

Place Pigalle is an easy to miss gem of a restaurant in Seattle. Very seldom do I give an eating establishment 5 Stars across the board. Highlights: menu, ambiance, liquor selection and (surprise) great espresso! Crowning Jewel: the staff. The people operating this fine establishment want only to please you. From menu customization to drink selections at the bar it is, well, bar none. We always make it a mandatory stop while in Seattle. You have my personal guarantee that you will not be disappointed. I had no idea this was even here - and I have been to Pike Place many times. What a fantastic place that is a hole in wall. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was a little too loud for a romantic dinner - but great for a casual dinner with family and or a nice, end of the day dinner with your best friend. This is the second time we have eaten at Place Pigalle. We had a wonderful table by the window with a view of the water and the wharf with the Ferris wheel. We shared an order of crab cakes as an appetizer and they were some of the best crab cakes I have had in the Northwest. We split an order of Bouillabaisse for our entree. It was delicious - a wonderful saffron base and loaded with fresh seafood. It was a good dish for sharing. We ended our meal with a cherry dense cake that was wonderful. The cherries were locally grown. Our waiter recommended a wine since the wine we selected was not available. It was a French white and went well with our dinner . We had a wonderful waiter who was very helpful and kept checking on us.

Everything yummy, but the calimari served with a mushroom sauce was to die for. Wonderful view of the water. Service was attentive but not over the top.
