PL8 Restaurantnew to sushiWe are new to eating sushi - so our server was excellent in giving us tips on what to order. However, if you don't like sushi, you have lots of other options. We especially liked the wide rice noodle dishes. We also tried the tempura vegetables - the dish was very light and great tasting. I have never, ever had a bad meal here! Wines were affordable and we closed down the place. And the nicest thing is they didn't turn on the lights or start sweeping the floors to get rid of us. We have dined at PL8 at least once a month and the meals have always been delicious! Service is always good. If you don't place a reservation for a Saturday night be prepared for a wait but you can eat at the bar if space is available. The food is consistently good, with a very large selection of Pan-Asian choices. They offer a children's menu with standard American choices, as well as child-sized Asian dinners. The reception and wait staff are always extremely friendly and observant of needs. Have tried the Tuna Poke and Godzilla also our favorites. Make room for dessert, banana wontons are deliciously warm wontons wrapped around banana and chocolate. Our waitress was friendly, shared comments of the most popular dishes, made some great suggestions for appetizers and entrees, and gave us great service. As if that wasn't enough,the food was awesome. From the Shark Tooth appetizer(snow crab,avacado, apseragus separated with totrilla chips, drizzled with a sauce,),to the basil shrimp, and molten chocolate cake,everything was just as the waitress described it, delicious! This was our first dining experience here and while our table was ready, they offered to hold it while we had a drink at the bar! After drinks we headed to our table where we trusted the server for ll of his recommendations off the menu. The blood orange martini was divine.
The cold peanut noodle and 7 seasoning chicken were incredible! Our sushi was equally delicious!
Decor was hip, vibrant Asian fusion... Cool downtown feel in the suburbs!
