A word from Pizzeria Villagio
The idea of Villagio comes from a marriage between time and place; the old neighborhoods of New York City and the abundant plains of California. What California brings to the table figuratively and literally, is its abundance of fresh produce, fresh starts, and the opportunity to reinvent. And so it was with these two places and time in mind that we set out to build a restaurant that would meld the two.

With pizza dough made from scratch, hand stretched and cooked in a traditional pizza oven, our proprietary pizza sauce and the freshest of ingredients, Villagio invites you to dig in and enjoy our food, our warmth, and our relaxing ambiance. A place where old world tradition, meets new world freshness.

Diner Reviews
  • "We enjoyed the food. The lemon martini was especially good. We would like to come back and try other entrees. The restaurant is listed as a pizzeria but it more than that."

  • "There are so many wonderful restaurants in the desert, but if you are simply looking for an inexpensive yet quality place to go for a casual dinner, this is the place. We had their pasta and have to say their Lasagna was out of this world and a great portion for $16. Next time will try the pizza. Great neighborhood place to go."

  • "I'd driven by this place many times as it's located a couple miles from my house. My husband and I finally decided to try it on Saturday night and we were pleasantly surprised. When we first arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation (we did) and thought it was odd as half of the tables were empty. Within about 15 minutes, the place filled up. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable when we asked questions about the wine list. He made suggestions about the menu. The food was very good. The chocolate cake for dessert was amazing! Their lunch menu looked great and I'm excited to go back and try it!"

  • "We have eaten at PV every Sunday night with friends since January. Unfortunately, this, the only time I booked through Open Table as friends usually book, was not a good experience for any of six of us. Must of been an off night, as most have been very good experiences."

  • "we go to this restaurant at least once a week - one of our favorites. What stood out this last visit was our waiter Charles. He is without a doubt the best server they have there - in fact - he was one of the best servers we have ever had anywhere! He made our dinner so much more special by being extremely attentive and bringing out the food while still hot - that does not always happen - and doing things before he was asked - like refilling drinks etc. We will always ask for his table from now on - you rock Charles!!!!"

  • "We were there for the Happy Hour. The buffalo wings with spicy garlic sauce was very tasty. We got 8 wings and had left overs. Also got a10" pizza and was very good. The only disappointment was the draft beer only comes in "light beers"."

  • "Great thin crust pizza. Good service. The Italian wedding soup was good, as was the heirloom tomoato salad."

  • "Had a chopped salad - went for the full size, not the lunch size...full size was small compared to what you get at Michaels Cafe (Cathedral City) or Town Center Cafe (Palm Desert) and was more expensive. Friends got sandwiches. We all got soda's...bill with 15% tip was $16 a piece. Pricey lunch for what we got...will not be back..."

  • "Billed as the best pizza in the Coachella Valley so expectations were high. Nice place, ambiance was fine, friendly staff, pizza was not that great."

  • "We have a sensitive stomachs; Sofrito seafood entrée seemed to have a mild spiciness that we were not prepared for."

  • "Food was great. Unfortunately because we were a large party we were seated in the middle of the room, so it was busy and noisy around us. The food is awesome. My husband even said we now have a new pizza place."
    Dined on 3/9/2014
  • "The food was okay but I was looking for more atmosphere. It was too bright and bland. I guess it would be okay if you are dining with kids. It's not a date restaurant."

  • "Arrived for our reservation, say we didn't have one. After I showed them my open table reservation on my phone, they seated us right away. They were telling pople that there was a 45 minute wait even though half the tables were empty. Then service was very slow. the food was good, but, for the type of place it was the prices were high considering that soup or salad was not included with entrees. For the prices they charge, I would expect better service and ambience."

  • "Pizzeria Villagio is a bit of Italy in the desert. Inside are welcoming warm colors and wonderful Italian posters. The pizza is the star and it doesn't disappoint. The veggie pizza is especially good with lots of fresh veggies - great variety and just the right amount. Everything we tried was very good and we are anxious to go back and try something new. Also adding to the experience was a very good wait staff. Andrew was knowledgeable and helpful and knew just when to bring our food."

  • "We have been here many times and had a good experience. Saturday night we were seated next to a group of about 20 people with 10 kids all together right behind our table. They were wild and loud and throwing stuff and out of control. When I complained to the manager he apologized and said there was nothing he could do about it. I won't be coming back."

  • "Can't get enough of the pizza here! The crust is thin & crispy, the sauce delicious. The spinach salad is also crazy good and makes me feel better about eating pizza ;)"

  • "We recommended the Meat-Lovers pizza to friends as one of the best we'd ever had. However, on our second visit when we ordered two Meat-Lovers, the pizzas did not even resemble the original version we'd had! The toppings were not as plentiful, and the best part of the original pizza -- prosciutto curled on top after coming out of the oven -- was missing. Which version was the right one?"

  • "we enjoy Villagio for their good pizza .. they never disappoint. we tried the fried calamari for an appetizer this last visit and were pleasantly surprised .. calamari not done right can be pretty awful, but Villagio did a very nice job on it."

  • "We can not get enough of the pizza here! At other pizza joints we get a variety of toppings but the good ole cheese pizza here is so delicious it needs nothing on it! Everything we have had is really flavorful and yummy but our standard lunch choice is to split a small pizza and have salads, spinach for me and chopped for him. I dream about this spinach salad, the pine nuts add a nice crunch and the pancetta gives bacony goodness...mmm....so good!"

  • "Staff was pleasant and service was very good. Very convenient to the Indian Wells Theatre. Ordered two large pizzas. The New Yorker was very tasty, the vegetarian one a bit bland for our taste. The restaurant is very noisy. Difficult to visit."

  • "We tried the pizza for the first time...a Primavera for the ladies and a Meat Lovers for the guys. Both were excellent!.....the mediums were enough for both couples to take left-overs home for lunch the next day. We WILL be back!"

  • "The golf staff at Shadow Ridge said to have a great meal and fun place to eat. We were very happy with the entire evening. Large portions and great flavor were the norm with everything we ordered. We will return many times on our next visit!"

  • "We finally had a date night and chose this as a place we've never been before. Our server immediately let us know we arrived prior to the end of Happy Hour and we could order off the discount menu until 6pm. Our calamari was the BIGGEST plate we have ever had! We could have easily been full off just this order. The garlic bread "dots" were amazing and both our pizzas were outstanding - super thin crust, just how we like it. Our server was also wonderful - she continuously came by to check on us and see if we needed anything. We will definitely be making this a regular stop - with or without kids."

  • "While the food and service is great they continually overcharg you on the wine. They know the wine prices come up wrong on your bill but don't seem to want to fix it. Got to make you wonder! Check your bill!"

  • "We just had pizza and a salad with house wine. It was all great! We sat in the booths near the front door and The was a cold draft from it. Sometimes the door stuck open and there was no one to close it . We ate left over pizza the next day and it was just as good heated up as the day before. You should expand Your beer list for happy hour. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful."

  • "Their Pizza is so fresh and tasty. We order a small pizza and share as an appetizer and have cut in squares. Then we order a bottle of wine and enjoy many items on their menu. The wine list is very good and reasonable. Be sure and ask for Andrew for a wonderful experience as he is an excellent waiter....."

  • "The pizza was not real New York Pizza but it was good and clearly all the ingredients were fresh. The salads were very good and the pasta was too. I was just hoping for a pizza more like John's on Bleeker Street or Lombardi's."
