A word from Pizzeria Villagio
The idea of Villagio comes from a marriage between time and place; the old neighborhoods of New York City and the abundant plains of California. What California brings to the table figuratively and literally, is its abundance of fresh produce, fresh starts, and the opportunity to reinvent. And so it was with these two places and time in mind that we set out to build a restaurant that would meld the two.

With pizza dough made from scratch, hand stretched and cooked in a traditional pizza oven, our proprietary pizza sauce and the freshest of ingredients, Villagio invites you to dig in and enjoy our food, our warmth, and our relaxing ambiance. A place where old world tradition, meets new world freshness.

Their Linguini and Clam Sauce is to die for! I consider it to be the best I have ever had, anywhere. Three of the 5 of us agree on that. The others had something else and raved about that also.

We had a table reserved for 8 (4 adults, 3 kids and 1 infant) and service was slow considering there were only two other tables near by with other customers when we were seated and placed our order. Refills on drinks took some time, appetizers took longer to come out and our meals came directly after so there wasn't much time to enjoy either. Since we were behind on time due to service, we had to take our dessert to go.

We visit often and always enjoy our food. The seafood salad is the best in the valley and the caesar salad is great also. The pizza and pasta selections are delicious. Only complaint is that they seem to be understaffed at times resulting in service that varies in efficiency. At busy times two hostesses at the door would help. Great dining overall and we will continue to visit often.

Met friends for dinner. Nice looking place. But I found it quite expensive and the pizza was just okay. Appetizers were fair, but also costly. The little bread balls were hard to chew and didn't have a lot of flavor except for the melted butter they were swimming in. Pizza crust was nothing to write home about, one diner leaving his crusts on the plate. Would I go back? Probably not, as Bill's Pizza in Palm Springs absolutely smokes this place. Bills isn't fancy, but it's the best, bar none.

This was our 3rd experience at Pizzeria Villagio. The food is exceptionally well-prepared and presented. This time I had the salmon with rosemary potatoes, yellow and red peppers and onions with pesto sauce, red pepper sauce and a cream kind of sauce. SO delicious. Time before this I had the vegetarian lasagna--like none you have ever had. Everybody else was also very satisfied. My husband, looking for New York pizza was so skeptical, was so happy with the pizza. We have found a new place to eat. Our waiter was great, personable, efficient and prompt. The ambience is clean, spacious and comfortable and still looks like an Italian restaurant should.

This was our third time and it's not what it was when it opened. Service was a bit snippy. Pasta sauce was watery, There were a lot of screaming kids thee which didn't make for a fun evening. We had to ask the waiter for rolls (which were stale), parmesan cheese (which had no flavor), water.

Our meal was fair at best. My salad was so bland and uninteresting that I sent it back. We had heard the pizza was great! The pizza sauce had little to no flavor and the crust was limp and soggy. We are always looking for a good pizza place since my husband is from New Jersey, but still we r looking. We wish our experience had been better.

I'd driven by this place many times as it's located a couple miles from my house. My husband and I finally decided to try it on Saturday night and we were pleasantly surprised. When we first arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation (we did) and thought it was odd as half of the tables were empty. Within about 15 minutes, the place filled up. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable when we asked questions about the wine list. He made suggestions about the menu. The food was very good. The chocolate cake for dessert was amazing! Their lunch menu looked great and I'm excited to go back and try it!

There are so many wonderful restaurants in the desert, but if you are simply looking for an inexpensive yet quality place to go for a casual dinner, this is the place. We had their pasta and have to say their Lasagna was out of this world and a great portion for $16. Next time will try the pizza. Great neighborhood place to go.

we go to this restaurant at least once a week - one of our favorites. What stood out this last visit was our waiter Charles. He is without a doubt the best server they have there - in fact - he was one of the best servers we have ever had anywhere! He made our dinner so much more special by being extremely attentive and bringing out the food while still hot - that does not always happen - and doing things before he was asked - like refilling drinks etc. We will always ask for his table from now on - you rock Charles!!!!

Had a chopped salad - went for the full size, not the lunch size...full size was small compared to what you get at Michaels Cafe (Cathedral City) or Town Center Cafe (Palm Desert) and was more expensive. Friends got sandwiches. We all got soda's...bill with 15% tip was $16 a piece. Pricey lunch for what we got...will not be back...

Arrived for our reservation, say we didn't have one. After I showed them my open table reservation on my phone, they seated us right away. They were telling pople that there was a 45 minute wait even though half the tables were empty. Then service was very slow. the food was good, but, for the type of place it was the prices were high considering that soup or salad was not included with entrees. For the prices they charge, I would expect better service and ambience.

Pizzeria Villagio is a bit of Italy in the desert. Inside are welcoming warm colors and wonderful Italian posters. The pizza is the star and it doesn't disappoint. The veggie pizza is especially good with lots of fresh veggies - great variety and just the right amount. Everything we tried was very good and we are anxious to go back and try something new. Also adding to the experience was a very good wait staff. Andrew was knowledgeable and helpful and knew just when to bring our food.

    Dined on 2/3/2014
We recommended the Meat-Lovers pizza to friends as one of the best we'd ever had. However, on our second visit when we ordered two Meat-Lovers, the pizzas did not even resemble the original version we'd had! The toppings were not as plentiful, and the best part of the original pizza -- prosciutto curled on top after coming out of the oven -- was missing. Which version was the right one?

We can not get enough of the pizza here! At other pizza joints we get a variety of toppings but the good ole cheese pizza here is so delicious it needs nothing on it! Everything we have had is really flavorful and yummy but our standard lunch choice is to split a small pizza and have salads, spinach for me and chopped for him. I dream about this spinach salad, the pine nuts add a nice crunch and the pancetta gives bacony goodness...mmm....so good!
