  • "Most everyone goes to Mozza for the Pizzas which are definately 1st Class & Top Shelf - But "Best" Pizza is a topic that can start a religious war so it's best not to say any more. One thing (several actually) that shouldn't be missed are the Antipasti. A group of four can have a great meal/time sharing several of them along with a pizza or two. If you want a nice quiet & romatic Italian meal Pizzaria Mozza ain't that place - It's loud, crowded, and a pretty good party. Despite the crowd outside waiting for tables, with an Open Table reservation our party was seated as soon as we checked in."

I loved this place when I lived in LA and on a recent visit from my new home in NY, it didn't disappoint. You have to try very, very hard to find something better when you're looking for casual dining, friendly and attentive service and just overall fantastic fresh food at a very reasonable price. These are very far from a average pizzas."

  • "I had to wait for a long time to reserve a table at Pizzeria Mozza but it was definitely worth the wait. The food was excellent and the serving is quite big. The staff was very attentive and even though the place was busy, the staff made time for everyone and checked up on us and our food. I recommend this restaurant to everyone."

  • "The food is fabulous. My daughter and I took my mother here to end her visit with us and we weren't disappointed. The three of us shared two appetizers - buratta/tomatoes and squash flowers. The tastes exploded in my mouth. The grilled cherry tomatoes with the buratta were exquisite and the squash flowers are a delicacy. We then shared eggplant parmesan (the daily special) and a pizza with leeks, goat cheese and scallions. The crust of the pizza is so outstanding and the flavors ... perfect combination. Somehow this eggplant parm was the most flavorful, I've ever tasted and I mean the eggplant - which is usually an excuse to put cheese and tomato sauce together. A perfect cap to her visit and a great way to send her back east."

  • "The pizza is good, the crust is great. They get "creative". Wasn't crazy about the one I had the last time since the raw arugula on my pizza made my mouth do the work of eating a salad instead of savoring the rest of the ingredients on the pizza which ruined it. I had a simple green salad but it was as if the baby green could have come from a bag with only a little dressing on it. Wish there was at least one more ingredient in there to make it more interesting for the money. (It's expensive!). The young hostess was arrogant - perhaps if you don't look like you quite are rich enough to be there, you get attitude), but the wait staff was very pro and friendly. It's a "scene," so being there seems like you're someplace important."

  • "I expected more for what they are charging! If you're going to charge me $18 for a mini pizza I expect to have some personal space not touching elbows with the person next to me that I don't know. Also the service was horrible, I better get better service going to Little Ceasar's !"

  • "Got there right before our reservation was told that we could not get seated till our full party was there, Our full party arrived we sat for 25 mins before getting service. I saw a table get seated without a full party. I guess they have special rules for certain people. I had to ask for ice tea 3 times. Waiter didn't want to give recommending (our first time there). Got our apps, and the bus boy was at the table every 5 secs asking if we were done to clear our plates when you could clearly see there was still apps on the plates. Entree went smoothly. Dessert came, and again the bus boys came by every 5 seconds to ask if we were done and before we could finish he picked up everyone's dessert spoons.. so I didn't get to finish my food :-("

  • "PROS: Service (top notch!), food, wine, dinner costs (fairly reasonable for a trendy L.A. eatery). CONS: $10 Valet charge (UGH!). NOISE LEVEL - waaaay too loud for a conversation. TIP: Feel free to ask your server what all the Italian words on the menu mean. TIP: Get the butterscotch cup for dessert. OMG!!! We're going to try the Osteria next door in a few months."

  • "At one point during dinner, the couple sitting next to us apologized for eyeballing our food. We didn't mind a bit, but it gives you an idea of how close the tables are at Pizzeria Mozza -- you can't not be in the business of the people sitting next to you unless you're a party of four or more (then, you just have to get used to people banging into the back of your chair as they try to get in and out). This place is ridiculously small and, given that it's not a cheap eat, it seems a little sadistic to pack people in like sardines. However, that doesn't mean this isn't some of the best pizza around (and don't skip the budino on the dessert menu, or the grilled bread, or the salads, or... well, anything). Worth the squeeze!"

  • "Who would think high end, high quality pizza in LA LA land? Not this reviewer. Well, pass me another slice of the goat cheese heirloom tomato sauce and call me surprise. Went twice-once for lunch and a late night dinner at the bar. So many good things to try-use the waiter as a resource if its your first visit. Perfect crust, delightful flavors and high quality ingrediants are evident making this my favorite West Coast pizza joint. A group of 3 or 4 people is perfect--allows you to order 3-4 pizzas and try a slice each. Then again, the quality is there that is does not weight you down-perfect for ordering one more pizza for desert after voting for the group favorite (pass on the menu deserts, the pizza is that good)."

  • "I wasn't sure based on the reviews online, but decided it would be good to eat something a bit more normal with the kids (teens). Place was loud and packed, with a lot of energy in the room. Staff was always moving. Waited a little past our 9:15 reservation, and the table was tight, but manageable. An app, a salad (chopped salad for $16 was plenty for the four of us...and tasty), two pizzas. Being from NJ we know pizza well, and the ingredients here were exceptional. If folks write that things were average, they either don't appreciate quality ingredients or live in a place with damn good pizza. Sauce was nice , and crust was worth saving. Dessert ($10) was awesome...caramel, peanuts, chocolate sauce over ice cream. Service was A+"

  • "My wife and I recently celebrated 23 years of marriage with a movie and lunch. The film was just okay, but our lunch at Mozza was fantastic. We were a little early for our resevation, but were seated right away. There were so many choices and our waiter, Kyle was very helpful and patient. The food was just so darn good. We shared the Sunday Lasagna Special, which was delicious and I ordered a pizza with Yukon potatoes, bacon, and a sunnyside-up egg. One of the best pizzas I have ever had. The squash blossoms and the oven roasted corn were fabulous appetizers. Our cappuccinos were maybe the best we had ever had. Everybody was friendly and talkative. One of our neighboring tables offered us tastes. A real fun time with great food."

  • "Maybe it is a good thing I live 45 minutes from Pizzeria Mozza. If I didn't, I would be eating pizza toooo much! For the most part, I have a pretty clean diet and generally, ixnay all wheat and refined foods. However, one should be able to indulge now and then, right? Well, the meatlover's pizza with mushrooms added and sans the cheese (yes, I have a milk allergy) and I am in food heaven. I am a lover of a crispy thin crust, which this pizza has...it is the best. I admit it, I have become a pizza snob and never order pizza anywhere else because when I do, I am very disappointed. Service is hit and miss; servers are good but to the most part, the waiters, NOT!!! Having said that, I don't frequent this establishment for the service."

  • "What's the big deal about this place? The pizza at Pitfire or 800 Degrees is better, costs less and don't require ridiculous advance reservations. I lived in Italy for 25 years and Mozza Pizza would never cut it there! I think it is all about being in a loud trendy place and nothing more."

  • "All the appetizers we had were very good--shrimp and melon, gorgonzola and lentils, calamari, potatoes, short ribs. The two salads we had were also good--little gem lettuce, caprese. The pizzas were less well received--the best was the mushroom, more moderate praise for the bacon, egg and yukon gold potatoes and meat lovers. The speck and pineapple was soggy and the gorgonzola and radicchio didn't please anyone. The desserts were pretty much a bust all around. The caramel and marshmallow sundae with salted peanuts had so many peanuts which were soooo salty that it killed the sundae. The strawberry gelato pie was simply okay. The apricot and lemon verbena sundae was simply awful. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful."

  • "Overall this was a five star place when it opened. However, overall quality as slipped. In particular the crust has substantially diminished in quality, I used to have an airy, chewy quality. Now it is crisper and far less memorable. They need to bring Nancy Silverton back to give everyone a refresher course. Service is spotty. Some dishes are not served promptly."

  • "having gone to the mozza osteria next door several times loving it every time, we were curious how the little brother restaurant would compare. We shared an arugula salad with shaved cheese which was a nice start. I got a pilsner draft, which was a bit small for the price. We ordered two pizzas. One was a long cooked broccoli, the other one with several meats, like some meatball, pepperoni etc. The broccoli one was a bit underwhelming, a bit on the boring side. The meaty one was very high quality, definitely more in line with what I wanted. Fantastic crust on both. Place was packed, too packed - it was basically a communal style seating they had us packed in so close. Loud, waitress a little impatient. Dessert (butterscotch) amazing."

  • "As much as I love the food and the great service (once seated) it is so irritating to have made a reservation at 7.30, tried to push it back to 8pm but told its not possible, arrive at 7.30 and then not get seated until 8.05pm! We ordered a bunch of the appetizers to share (the charcuterie plate is one of the best in town) and had barely made a dent in them when our pizzas arrived. Our server was great, apologized and explained they were unusually quick and took them away. When they came back half an hour later, yup, same pizzas, just a quite a bit darker and crustier. Still delicious. "
