A word from Pizza Mezzaluna
Pizza Mezzaluna was established in 2009 as an addition to the original Mezzaluna Uptown New York City. Mezzaluna was born in 1984 as a contemporary, authentic, innovative, Italian trattoria.
We are very proud to say that Mezzaluna was the first restaurant in the city to offer individual pizza cooked in our wood burning oven.
The philosophy of Pizza Mezzaluna is to showcase the dishes of the Italian regional cuisine, importing authentic ingredients from Italy of high quality.
At Pizza Mezzaluna downtown we are focused on pizza, using Caputo flour imported from Southern Italy, San Marzano tomatoes, handmade fiordilatte mozzarella, and our expert “Pizzaiolo” made olive oil E.V from our estate in Tuscany. All these ingredients make our pizza as authentic and as delicious as that found in the state of Naples.
Our cozy Italian trattoria is a pearl in Greenwich Village/ Soho.

  • "This is a very cozy restaurant with just a few tables and a few counter spaces. On Friday night that we went, there was just one wait staff so the service felt a little slow and our pizzas took a bit longer than we had expected -- maybe full 30 min after we had ordered. We were not in a hurry and the pizzas were good, if on a little pricey side. However, on the special pizza with arugula, grape tomatoes, and buffalo mozarella cheese, the tomatoes were cold -- which felt jarring on a warm pizza."

  • "Mezzaluna has amazing food and is a quaint place in the village. We stubbled across this place on Open Table and our girls loved it at well. Their pasta, pizza and mozzeralla apps were all so fresh and wonderful. Wish we lived closer because it would be a regular hangout."

  • "We are fan of Mezzaluna Restaurant in Turkey and we wanted to try in NY city. We were not expecting such a small place ( only 4 tables) but food was very good and service was very fast. Lady who served us was very friendly and she made us feel like home. My son tried Nutella pizza as a desert ( banana and walnut inside), it was delicious."

  • "When our party walked into this tiny simple appearing 17 seat restaurant, I was concerned. Open table had rated it high, and they were right. It had simple decor, a limited choice of wines, but a fantastic waitress and incredible food. Caprese salad, roasted cauliflower with chickpeas, calamari, black linguini with shrimp, and focaccia were all crazy good. Pizza too. Pizzas to go heading out back at continuos pace. Local couple sitting next to us wanted to know how we found out about their Friday night dinner spot. Great find."
