  • "The "Mommy" cocktails were fun. We started with the maple glazed bacon (awesome!) and shared the crab leg platter. It was nice the crab legs were cleaned tableside for us, but I question the freshness. They were good, but I've had better - much sweeter elsewhere with no ocean taste. Two of us had the filet, and we agreed they were excellent. One of us had the prime rib - it was salty on the exterior, which is how it was described, but it was good. I preferred the filet, but my friend preferred the prime rib. Brussels sprouts with bacon were very good, a bit crunchy. The loaded mashed potatoes were great, as well. We split the brownie with leftovers - hot fudge and caramel sauce with ice cream ...what's not to like?"

  • "Drove 40 minutes in snow to take some customers here for the first time. It was well worth the trip and the customers had a great dining experience. The steaks, and sides were always on the mark. The desserts were unbelievable. The cherry chocolate ice cream with the red velvet cake was the best ice cream I have ever tasted. Thanks again to Jorge and the staff, customers loved it and everyone left full. "

Since we were there on a Monday, can't comment on what would be normal noise level but certainly will be back. The food and service was excellent. The ambience made it feel like the special occasion it was."

  • "We went to Pittsburgh Blue to celebrate my husband's new job! I must say, the food was amazing - the only we were disappointed with was the coconut shrimp but by the time we got our entrees we both had forgotten about the coconut shrimp! The ambience was nice; if you are looking for an energetic atmosphere the bar would suffice but we preferred a quiet setting for conversation, which we got. Our server was "good." I try not to be too hard on servers because I used to be a server and understand the stress that comes with the position. But, she didn't really get to know us or inform us about Pittsburgh Blue and what it had to offer. She wasn't rude but she wasn't over the top either. Overall, great experience!"

  • "Food was great though we waited with buzzer in hand for 15 minutes despite having made a reservation. Restaurant was very crowded with tables and people...not a bit romantic. For the same money there are better "special occasion" restaurants with equally good food."

  • "I've dined at Pittsburgh Blue several times for both work and pleasure. It's always been a consistently good place to eat and the prices reflect that. 3 out of 4 of us had satisfactory food but the prime rib was extremely gristly and difficult to cut or even chew. The waited said he removed it from my bill. Not what I expect from a 1st class restaurant! Secondly, our waiter Johnny, did not even visit our table or acknowledge our presence for 20 minutes. Everything came in extremely slow motion including the drinks. Being it is Manny's little brother, I would not chance taking a group here in the future. Something has changed in the quality and the service. Johnny was a disappointment. We've always had excellent service before this occasion."

  • "The food and service at Pittsburgh Blue was outstanding as usual. Two items were noticeable however. One was the server, who provided exceptional service the entire time, seemed to have abruptly quit that service once the bill was paid (and the tip was very generous at over 20%). Almost as though... ok, I got my money, I'm done. The second issue was the noise level. We dined with my husband's parents who are elderly and slightly hard of hearing and in the dining room, the noise level was very loud - too loud to carry on an enjoyable conversation - it was straining the entire time."

  • "First time dining here. Food came out before we even had a chance to finish our salads. I felt like we were in a fast food chain. After the food arrived we hardly saw our server. Food was good but service was poor however, the server did try to make up for it by providing us with a tasteless, dry red velvet cake. I am not so sure that helped matters. Had this been a Friday or Saturday evening I might be more understanding but on a Tuesday I would expect better service. We will give it one more try and recommend it with a caution."

Our waiter, Riley, was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks offered. Topping off a fantastically prepared meal was a birthday treat was the cherry on top of a delightful night. The folks at Pittsburgh Blue have earned repeat customers."

  • "My lobster was good. Not terrific just good. The butternut squash was excellent. My husbands prime rib was dissapointing. A very poor cut of meat with not much flavor. His baked potato was the size of idaho and was very good. But you dont go to a place like this for the great sides. Especially not at these prices. It is unlikely we would be repeat customers. The service was excellent."

The restaurant was full, the staff was organized and didn't miss a beat in making this a very memorable dinner. The birthday cake was served with elegance and was a great finish to the meal.We have dined here before and every visit tops the rest the staff the service the food are the very best"

  • "Went to celebrate a work bonus. For the price I expect very good service. 3 of 4 meals came out perfect. 2 ribeye and filet mignon. 4th meal was filet mignon ordered medium (had medium marker on plate) but came out very rare. We ordered sauce for that meal and waitress forgot it first time. Then they recooked the steak and we reminded about the sauce and it was forgotten again. 3rd time we asked they got it. Brownie dessert was fantastic. Waitress was friendly. Nice menu selection. For 300 bucks I have high expectations that they didn't quite meet. I would go back but would have no reservation to try another fancy steakhouse next time."

My husband is a bit picky when it comes to the done ness of his steaks and he's never complained here. The service is always superb with knowledgeable and attentive waitstaff. My mom has dementia, and they were GREAT with her, double checking discreetly with me when she made requests, putting things out of her reach when they saw that she handled food inappropriately family style. Server was very perceptive and very gracious."

The menu has several varieties of steak. The appetizers and sides were both complimentary. Our wait staff was thorough and her recommendations exceeded our expectations.   • "Sat right by the kitchen-extremely loud. Ordered Bacardi Limon, but you didn't have. So I ordered Smirnoff's Lemonade, but didn't have either. Drank water instead. Almost 15 minutes late in seating us even though we had a 6pm reservation for 4.--I finally asked how much longer, as we saw others walk in and get seated right away."
